- Today I go over how to build a typical air to air front mount intercooler. Theres many different styles and options you can go with on a intercooler and this is just one of many examples.

Algorithm’s and stuff for Ben 👏👍
I can’t imagine why you don’t get more views - your stuff is great!
Go, Ben!! You should hook up with Kevin of KSR! You’re both very detail oriented and focused on doing things right the first time you do it.
I haven’t had the chance to meet him yet. Would love to check out his shop one day.
For fab projects, I’d love to see more cage work, or seat mounts to the cage
Love the how-tos, especially fabrication stuff.
Would love to see a follow up with your bro's build, looked very interesting. Very informative vid, thanks.
He lives 1400 miles away. Trying to get back up there within the next 30 days
Great stuff. I'm here for whatever you put out dude.
Great tips always nice to see how things are made
some diesel diy tunes from exhaust to intercooler, turbo, intake, weight reduction would love to see some of that thx buddy liked and subbed
Great content thanks for sharing
Really enjoyed the how to vid Ben, interesting to see how taking time to make sure your preparation is top notch adds to the final product! Keep up the good work 👍🏻
I agree...how-to videos with your entertainment factor is the way to go
Nice job on the shop
Great vid👌
We would love an intercooler for the MDX Type S. Too much focus on Civics and Integras. Most of the industry doesnt have the moxy to fabricate like you do!
A buggy chassis or something like the aerial atom built from scratch would be the 💣
That would be the ultimate. And I have a k24 sitting in my trailer already for it. It’s just space right now is a issue.
@@baysidefabrication if only Jeremy was looking for a new employee 😁
This video was perfect, personally I weld an fabricate and love to see how others do their projects. Btw I love my AHP201 it’s been great to me other then a fan breaking apart. But surprised on your cup setup for an AC welding. For future projects your best bet is to film any customer project or your own projects that involve anything fabricating and just be as detailed as possible which I know is tedious but I love the nerdy details.
The how-to videos are the most popular ones on my channel, as well.
BTW, that is some really nice welding, sir. Much respect. 👍
I'm impressed that he runs all of his welds at 200 amps and they turn out like that.🤔
The pedal acts like a gas pedal fur amps. Aka 25% pedal input at 200amp setting gives you like 80amps. When running mid bead I’m probably running around 140-160amps But sometimes you need that extra juice especially with aluminum
@@baysidefabrication I know, I just give you credit for running in such a tight window to maintain your desired amperage. I also tig, I usually set my amps to the max I'll use on what I'm doing and for me is better. My foot movement doesn't have to be as accurate in order to stay around what I need...
Yeah yeah keep it up with the how to videos and mix it up with the car stuff here and there.
Do a how to on making an intake manifold with velocity stacks inside. Similar to a plazmaman intake manifold.
That would be cool. I’ve been thinking about doing something on my stock S54 manifold
@@baysidefabrication that intercooler outlet would have benefited having a velocity stack type runner out. Yours has a sharp edge which doesn't help flow, makes the 3" work as a smaller actual diameter (coefficient of discharge being bad that is)
Nice one!
Is there any flow rate gain with different inlet/outlet positions or angles?
enjoyed the video! loved the use of affordable tools! How about A-Arms to replace stock pressed out pieces with thick wall tubing and HD adjustable rod ends? Also - are you storing the BMW exo-cart for its new owner?
Great job Ben, the Intercooler looks ace. ooof those clamps $200 each 😯 5 of those amount to my project car 😅 how about an oil catch can or breather tank ?
First first for me!!
It be very fun to design the intercooler’s core. It wouldn’t be difficult, apply heat transfer analysis and test it. Think it be fun to experiment with materials and the dimension of the fins. My thought were to start with an oil cooler since it’s a smaller platform.
The plating used was 1/8” thick? Did you form the aluminum or have a shop do it?
What’s the name of that aluminum chop tool and where can I find one? That thing can save a ton of time.
What kind of PSI is going to be pushed through that?

Thats not from scratch was looking forward to the core build
