SAME probleme, do you also somethings feeling jealous watching this video's i love them, but these video's at same time make me wanne go thrifting in a country without these kind of thriftshops😭
I dont know what part of the chair you find ugly. i mean if its just the overall shape, or the colour etc. but if its about the green fabric: maybe you can try to disassemble the chair and stable a new cute fabric around the chair upholstery. takes some work but this way the chair doesnt go to waste and can choose the fabric so it might turn out pretty cute
im also middle eastern and that restaurant looked so cute!! i love how they had items from the culture and is sharing it in Japan! PS the nougat is also eaten in my culture and we call is gaz :)
Hey Mikan!! I've been watching your videos since I was maybe 10 or 11 :) I would watch them on my moms phone my dad's phone anywhere! Your videos are so so comforting and whenever I'm sad I watch them!! My dream was, and is to learn Japanese and visit Japan, just like you❤💜
@@mikanmandarin I love how both of you guys make thrifting vids now since it's such a sustainable way to get cute clothes and other stuff! Makes me wanna go thrifting with my friends
That light fixture you got for the kitchen LOOKS FABULOUS !! It was a perfect fit, and the price was so reasonable. Getting to go along with you on your day was fun too!
I always feel like in the states to find things that aren't broken or super dirty you have to go to antique stores and those are always way too expensive
15:00 If you want a wooden crate like that, you could go ask around in supermarkets or wine stores. I asked our local supermarket if they had any crates left and they just went to the wine cellar and got one for me. I placed a pillow in it and my dogs sleep in it. ^^ Not every store will just give them away, but you can always ask!
WHAAAT. My family owns that EXACT wall-hanging Atlas clock at 5:33! It was my grandmother’s when she lived in Germany. That’s wild seeing it in a Japanese thrift shop!
I think I am addicted to this channel, I force my boyfriend to watch the videos with me hahaha our favourite video is the "Things you should never do in Japan" we think it's a masterpiece.
love you Mikan ! I learned how to be confident in dressing in kawaii styles (in my small Midwestern town LMAO) thanks to you ! ♥︎♥︎ already liked this video and I haven’t even watched it yet
I loooove thrifting clothes and furniture. When I moved last year I basically got everything secondhand. Unfortunately, because of Covid I could only look on online platforms. Your videos makes me itch to go to stores again!! Also, that cat teapot is adorable!
I've watched so many of your videos it makes me happy and excited to go to Japan I'm 13 and in 5 years when I'm 18 I'm going, so I watch your videos to keep me entertained
This made me really want to go thrifting, also the cat teapot/watering can was so cute. Have to plan this but also when times are better I'll probably need another suitcase 'in case' I find things I like next time I'm in Japan. Also.. the cats 😻
"so much fun going furniture thrifting" Almost every single furniture ive owned have been from thrift stores, only exception I can remember was the previous computer chair that I bought new from IKEA as well as a few shoe stands (which I use as bases for GPU mining rigs).
Oh that candy is known in the Middle East lol the white one with the nuts it’s really cool you visited a Middle Eastern restaurant it’s cool I love how you embrace some of your Middle Eastern culture I too am a middle eastern girl my family was from Iraq
Go back and get the DEVIDER! ;-) You could use it to optically separate your living space and couch from the kitchen part ;-) I think it would not only look nice (given the height of the devider is hight enough to hide the kitchen part behind it), but also make your TV/Chill space so cosy, because of the material the devider is made of! AND, the colour suits the colour of the fabric of your sofa/couch) :-)
If there are any good affordable thrift stores in london that anyone could recommend, please do! It looks so fun!!!! ALSO THE TEA CUPS! They are SOOO CUTE!!!
It is so bizarre seeing Tully's in Japan. Tully's started in Seattle (where I live). It used to in almost as many places as Starbucks. Then it disappeared. And now I see it in Japan videos
I was about to loose it, when you said that the rotary phone was a clock. Thank god that the friend pointed it out. 😂😂🤣🤣 Big thrift stores are so much fun. There are only small thrift stores where I live and the selection is not that great either 😢.
Thrifting is always a great time I like to try more now atleast once a month or every two to go never know what little knick knacks u can find for the low or even gifts for others and blasts from the past! Hahaj 🎃💗👍 loved the trips and clips
That is an awesome haul! Your new kitchen lamp looks amazing! Also wow, how awesome are the prices in Japanese thrift stores?? Here, you can find IKEA lamps for like 2€ cheaper than at IKEA (and of course they have marks and a thick sticky dust layer 🙄)... But clothing and smaller items are usually cheap, so thrifting is still fun 😊
May I ask for the address of the restaurant? Would love to visit it one day as I love that type of themed restaurant! Would love to purchase one of their lamps x3
"it's comfy but ugly". the best catchphrase ever I heard
video started with kitty, immediately liking
“Erica doesn’t want to be featured, soooo-“
Erica’s Pita Sando!
Erica’s pants!!!

I guess her friend decided that filming wasn’t too bad after seeing Mikan do it irl and decided to join in a little bit
I want to go thrifting so badly but there’s not a lot of thrift shops in my area ;-; watching thrifting videos is my way of coping 🤧

What cute finds! Love how you put it together!
Oh wow, the Le Creuset sets. I used to work in Homesense and I famously dropped a box of these and destroyed them all. About £400 worth. GOOD TIMES.
💀💀💀💀
I'm in love with your channel so much i'm literally addicted!! your videos have recovered me so much emotionally
Items in Japanese thrift stores look like they’re in SUCH better condition than thrift stores in the States 😂
I always feel like in the states to find things that aren't broken or super dirty you have to go to antique stores and those are always way too expensive
Japanese people generally take very good care of their belongings, it's a cultural thing
FACTS FACTS

idk if the shape is what you find ugly, or the color, but it's actually super easy to put a new fabric onto a chair cushion and change the whole look!

5:32 I have that exact same clock on the wall opposite me right now. That's so crazy!
