Nice of you to provide this overview. I think when you buy a Universal Seat, you should expect to possibly make some simple modifications. Cutting off the bracket after determining your need doesn't seem to be asking too much. Much better than having to add height or asking them to make a specific bracket for every application.
The Elite seats that I just bought come with head rest. Tomorrow I'm going to cut tabs to make it fit properly in my 79 Firebird. The Driver seat has a problem of the spacing fore and aft on the sliders being off and I had to use a bloody hammer to drive the bracket into place. Gonna try grinding down the ends to get a better fitment tomorrow.
I think if I was to go with pro car I would get their universal bracket so would able to lower the seat more. I’m not the welder but I can tackle a few tacs
I didn’t hear you say what car they are going on. I plan on buy a pair and I’m 6’ 3” and a fat ass to boot so I sit as tall as a 6’ 5” person lol. Keep looking into it the guy fabing my roll cage says it’s easy to make a bracket and move the seat back about four inches. This is all happening in a VW Bug.
I did the same thing, except tried to buy the Summitt seats. Didn't fit, no real brackets available. Bought the Procar's to do it right. Anybody want some Summitt seats?

Good to know! I am 6'1", so I need to find something else, or stick with the set of stock seats I picked up at the salvage yard.
asicerik Dodge caravan front seats seem to be designed "big" people, I'd get the Chrysler variety if you do go that route

I got the same ones in my 82 c10, I'm 5' 11" and have plenty of head room and steering clearence
So true on these seats found out in my 81 Trans Am I couldn't get in the car. I'm 6'2".

Low backs in a 77!?!?! You could have bought way cheaper seats and retracted them for less and have em look more stock but be custom fit.
