A Jeep or Bronco is way more versatile than any sxs that’s ever been built. This has never been a issue until Polaris started asking 40, 50 and even 60k for their products. What I can’t seem to wrap my head around is a metal belt on a metal sheave with an oil film wouldn’t it slip? I mean to transfer power from a belt to a clutch you need pressure and friction. Instant wear. Add oil, no wear just slipping. I’m obviously missing something here.

    Worlds worst transmission design! Ask any Honda, Subaru or any other car owner with a CVT and over 60,000 miles. Been a mechanic since the 70's and I have never seen such high failure rate across the board by all manufacturers, especially in stop and go conditions. They only exist because they are dirt cheap to make and last long enough for the warranty to expire! Then you're stuck with a very expensive repair!

    • @dkdanis1340
      @dkdanis1340 Рік тому +2

      Why in the world you judge just because it looks somewhat similar. It's like saying one plane is the same as other plane just because they both have wings. Polaris and every other utv used rubber belts for decades and they are fine there's no reason why wouldn't metal belt last. Cvt exists because it literally provides infinite gear ratios.

    • @CapeCodCNC
      @CapeCodCNC Рік тому

      It's not just similar in design it is identical. Anyone that has anything with a CVT takes a spare belt with them because the design is unreliable! The only reason manufacturers use them is they are dirt cheap to make and require very little engineering. Metal CVT's are worse than rubber as they push the belt, not pull it, and that requires very high hydraulic pressures. They suck in very light duty commuter cars, what makes you think it will last off road? @@dkdanis1340

Polaris is really missing the mark.
