really cool marketing . cool name , cool color , cool style... since it is produced by saab I guess it is also a good missile
Its too beautiful too explode. Swedish design never fail
Oppa Gungnir style!
@@FINNSTIGAT0R hahahahaha
It might have already been used. Part of the Swedish weapons aid to 🇺🇦 was secret ;)
I like this company Saab, they're great
Greatest arms manufacturer. I think Thales comes a close 2nd
@@nostramashego4226 What about their Cars?
@@Chrinik Saab automobiles was a separate company
@@Chrinik Separate company but also they fail at something I think most Swedish companies fail at. Marketing :) I think it's not in Swedish peoples nature to boast and brag about their stuff in the way other countries do. Although we do boast and brag still. I just think there is a difference.
For me, that's the biggest reason SAAB Automobiles went under. They were first in the world with tonnes of things and inventions but never marketed it so they could capitalize on it.
They also developed very capable jet fighters, J32b Lansen, J35D, A32A very ahead of their time. Good to see Saab is still developing next generation weaponry.
Long live the Gungnir❤️❤️❤️
RBS15 MK4 now in operation with the Swedish navy.
Gungnir (spear of Odin) is a extremely capable anti ship missile!
No it isn't as of 2023 and it will not be in 2024 either. Mk3 is in operation.
I hope Canada buys a bunch of these since they have a sea threat
The missle knows where it is
Equipped with a nuclear warhead this will be a real odinspeare.
so does your phone, and car, and anything with a GPS
Dude doesn’t seem to get the reference
Because it knows where it isnt
@@thedude4795 Well this one does not need the GPS it can as you know be disturbed as Russia did over Syria thereby denying the USA the usage of the GPS system. A similar system exist in the Jas 39 E that makes it GPS independent and independent of ground help to go to where it is suposed to be.

une œuvre d'art.... Magnifique !
I'll take 3!
I wonder if these are the missiles coming to the new Finnish corvettes to be built. Saab won the weapon and control system supplier contract.
And i am envy to finland
Should fit for for the Finnish Navy. Fits for the Swedish Navy, made for green water Baltic operations. Hälsningar från era Svenska bröder!
I would be very surprised if the Finns don't go with this one...on the other hand, why on earth did the Danes buy the old Caesar arty and 24 insanely expensive, cumbersome F-35 instead of Archer and 75 JAS-GRIPEN E for the same møney? Th-th-threatbyTrump? "If u'r naat selling me Greenland you'll better buy the invisible plane! U can't see'em!"
@@opponenspericulo It was decided the new ships will be equipped with Israeli Gabriel V anti-ship missiles. But like I said earlier, the combat management system will be from Saab, as well as the torpedoes and some smaller things. So, it's not like Saab would have been left to lick its fingers. I'm happy Saab got at least that much. There can't be too much Finnish-Swedish defence sector cooperation.
Alas, I have a ghastly feeling Finland will also go for the F-35, despite the flight hours being so expensive the Finnish Air Force couldn't afford to fly the planes. At least they will be pretty, if expensive, decorations in hangars. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, of course.
@@herrakaarme Ah, now I remember I read somewhere about Finland getting the Gabriel. Israeli missile, is it not? And as Norway and Denmark went for the F-35 probably Finlad will as well. US is a powerful lobbying force when it comes to weapons. In Sweden the FMV and Försvaret wanted the french Aster SAM system but the politicians wanted the more expensive Patriot even though Aster outperformed it. They got the Patriot.
May I know what is the name of the torpedo beside the missile in this video?
SLWT-Saabs LightWeight Torpedo
some dude Thank you :-)
How much it cost?
"We are going to put the power of Odin's spear into the naval warfare operators." Is this Viking-speech for saying that they will rape some sailors?
No.
Maybe a Gugnir missile up a nosy Russian aggressors ass.
*Range ?*
SAAB cool. 👍👍
Is it capable of being used if GPS isn't available? Some secondary form of detecting, targeting and attacking targets?
Inertial guidance with radar for the final stretch.
It can pull over and ask for directions.
@@900stx7 SO, ITS A GIRL? LOL (a guy would not ask just drive till gas runs out)
I would imagine it could use both the American and European global positioning systems.
The the oldest iterations of this weapon system is older than GPS itself.
Not sure how they did it back then but I imagine it could still manage without it today.
The first version was developed long before GPS so I'm sure it has other means of navigation too.
Much better than Russian junk missiles.
Sáab!!!
Every swede has a Gungnir to protect his property from burglars!
Esqueceram de que estamos no Brasil e que aqui se fala o idioma Português, pq então o inglês???
But how does the missile know where it is?
canguar Because it knows where it isn't.
It measures precisely its journey and by using an internal map can guesstimate where it should be given the time travelled, speed and heading
Nostra Mashego nah man, that’s not what he meant... 😂😂
Apparently some obscure meme reference a select few seems to know. 🤷♂️
How much
Can people buy this???
Its on Amazon Sales
I have a saab 9-3. can he launch it?
Yes, standard equipment on that model, previous models had it as an option but must be added at factory.
The Philippine Navy should buy this kind of ASM.
Yeah it would be a great counters against china. Does the philiphines invest in millitary?
@@mentos93 The country is now slowly investing in military hardware for external defense like the procurement of FA50 trainer jets in preparation for the nultirole planes. Bramhos is a worth considering.
Sweden dont sell military stuff to countries with human rights problem... so no.. Sweden dont sell to Phil
Is it smarter than NSM ?
where is the amazon link please?
Can you get one at Ikea?
Yes but then you get it in a flat paket and have to asseble it yourself with a wrench
Pl make one delivery for me😜
Is that one of those missiles that know where they are?

Can it take out dinghies ?

@@AverageArtz ah yes, subsonic missile is as good as supersonic and even hypersonic. Logic is over 9000.
Hey you guys. This is where the big money is. Designing missiles.
Isn't Saab a car manufacturer
It was. SAAB stood for Svenska Aeroplan AktieBolaget. They have been making aircrafts for more than 100 years. But when sales were getting lower in the oil crisis they started making cars, they sold that part off in 1990 to a Swedish investment group that then sold it to GM. Now it's Saab AB.
But can it beat Zurcaroh!?
I drive a saab car
Look under your seat, Oprah is giving Gungnirs away!
This missile would be obsolete in this day the missile is subsonic only 70 km for the mk1 and maximum 300 km for the mk4 most anti missile systems will be able to stop this within 15 km,s
Range is proportional to size, weight, warhead power and cost.
What your proposing would probably cost 100X more or wouldn't be able to deliver a warhead big enough to sink a ship or would be too heavy to strap to a fighter jet.
Perhaps you know about a rocket fuel that have more potential energy then physics would allow.
@@2canines how about the Italian otomat which costs only half a million usd per unit and can go 400km while the mk3 has max range of 300km but costs 4 million usd.
Plus my point was that this missile would be obsolete in this day of age with all the anti missile tech they have since he missile is subsonic which makes it easy apprehended by this kind of tech. Plus while countries can launch their missiles half away the otherside of the world and take down a ship with these missiles u have to be already quite close to ur target which also makes u a easier target to the enemy ur fighting.
@@ignasmertens9424 The predecessors are used by several navies around the world, but this is nonethe less exceptional to use on smaller vessels and planes against a russian foe, fired f.e from deep inside an archipelago against both battle cruisers as well as small vessels. The fire-and-forget tech and it's low-alt maneuverability w possibility to hide behind islands if possible should more than well be able to overwhelm the enemy.
@@ignasmertens9424 different missiles have different jobs, they all make tradeoffs of some kind depending on the kind of role they serve. And it's worth remembering that your example, effective range, is determined by more than just the missile's raw airframe performance. Sensors, data-sharing, information management, signals intelligence - there's a whole slew of things that go into it. Think of it as a bunch of systems that need to be synchronised in order to achieve a goal, rather than the missile being a lone, self-contained actor.
As for the idea that subsonic missiles have become obsolete - how so exactly? Why do new subsonic designs continue to appear, if there's an objectively better option? Everything comes with its own benefits and penalties. In some roles a lower signature, or an extended range, or a smaller footprint might be more advantageous than arriving as quickly as possible. The point is it varies, and isn't a black and white equation.
Gungnir sounds like Indian mythology :D
They both have the same roots back 8000 year ago.
If your talking India. Not native Americans.

It's nothing against Indian Brahmos.
I would much rather take RBS15 than Brahmos. I prefer NSM/JSM, but RBS15 block IV would be a good second option. Brahmos would not even be in my top 5 pick.
