After my retirement last month I am off every day😂, only problem it is making me lazy, so roll on the end of the month! Loved the old church and great to see the first sings of Spring with all those glorious snowdrops. Looked a dam boggy walk in parts and I hate walking in the mud, still, better being out than indoors, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan , I’m sure when we are allowed out proper you will be back enjoying the lakes . I enjoyed the walk taking in all the views and sounds of spring . TFW atb Dave
Lovely day for a walk Dave, not much wind to talk about today mate 😁 Nice little woodland for a hammock when the leaves are back to add more cover. Nice to see you out matey. 👍 Lee
Lovely hike Dave, the water levels have dropped here too thankfully! still a lot of mud though! Enjoyed the views looking towards the Northern Fells.👍👍👍
A beautiful river is the Eden. I have only really seen it in the upper rural areas but I always enjoy its company. I also have an old pal from Crosby on Eden. I didn't see a single kingfisher in 2020 so well done with that Dave. ATB, Chris
Thanks Chris. I hope to walk it in it’s entirety in sections right up to Aisgill one day ! Always a bonus to catch a glimpse of the kingfisher , there are a few spots in town I know that they regularly patrol the river . Atb Dave
Did similar Loop from Carlisle the other week about 15.5miles. It’s surprising how wide the river gets as you near Rockcliffe . Nice video Dave, looking forward to April the 12th 👍
Nice one Dave. I enjoyed all of that. Good to see you beside the river after so long and hey spotted a Kingfisher to. Yeah blink and you can miss em but always a buzz to see one. A decent rural ramble afterwards with views of the fells at the end. Good going mate. Mark
Nice pleasant river walk that marra, enjoyed it..Its a rare thing seeing a Kingfisher, shame you couldnt get a close up shot Fair bit of Erosion like but thats with endless hammer over the past few years. Lots of new bridges on the paths as well to replace old ones which no doubt were washed away.Shame the pub was shut at Rockcliffe for a half time pint 🤣.Mind do that same walk in 2 month and you will be getting attacked off midges lol.atb Mark.
Thanks it was an interesting wander and yeah just a pity the thistle was shut for a beverage at the half way point . If I do the same walk in 2 month i can get a pint ?? It looked liked the bridges will last a good bit longer now . atb Dave
78 mile from up in the fells, starts at aisgill area and meanders all the way to the solely . Seen a few canoeing vids on YT from the Eden . All good just waiting patiently to be let out ⛺️👍

Enjoyed a lot of walking along the Eden, my parents used to live at Kirkoswald. Also a long time ago, took a Canadian Canoe along a stretch.
I am hoping to do the upper reaches of the Eden at some stage , canoeing sounds fun but I will stick to dry land lol

King Garth that is a holiday cottage now it used to be a house used by the mayor to use as a hunting/fishing lodge.
Ah I did wonder. Local knowledge is invaluable 👍
Should've dropped in for a coffee Dave my village is Rockliffe.
If I knew I would have Robert 😂😂
Nice to have a couple of bikes on hand incase you get tired of walking. Might need a little oil on the chain though! Take it easy.
Very true ,don't think I will get too far on them tho lol
