This siren is still in use, it was moved to the north side to the city to cover our fairgrounds and north industrial park. It is still used for fire calls, however, due to policy changes it is not always activated for calls.
This siren was defiantly reverse wired. You can tell by this sirens slow wind down which is caused by the air getting sucked in and helping to relive air resistance instead of air being blown out and increasing resistance. In addition, a dead give away to a reverse wired siren is how when the sirens blower turns off the sirens sound output goes from really loud to nothing and then back up again. That is actually the air transitioning from being sucked in by the blower to blown out by the chopper after the blower has shut off. Here is the effect that is more noticeable in another video: ua-cam.com/video/9RQaX5ry7Dg/v-deo.html
To understand why it stopped doing hilo is because they took the solenoid control box with the flasher out & it is unable todo hilo anymore unfortunately.
No. Its simply just grime and such on the collector rings in the siren. These sirens often fluctuate in pitch from collector rings being dirty. Also judging from the slow wind-downs in Attack and after cycles, this siren has good bearings in it.
+Zach Xx_FrEd_BeAr_Xx the blower is definitely reverse wired. Notice how the chopper briefly turns off during the wind down and then regains its normal speed? That only happens when the blower is wired backwards because the chopper has to spin so quickly because the blower is sucking instead of blowing
Could you get a video of this Thunderbolt 1003 at is new location and i can still remember a video of this but it was only a audio recording video from the old Wisconsin Sirens Website and each signal was a 30 second test could you upload that one if you still have it saved
This siren was removed from this location and reinstalled on a pole just outside of the city limits. Here is a video of it in its new location ua-cam.com/video/34letOGwkhw/v-deo.html

No hi/lo olny fastwail for firecalls bc west shore services removed the RCM3

The last sound I can't help but think 1960's nuclear warfare
Excellent t-bolt action!!!
WHY is the screen holder funky
Because it's funky screen day
Pitch fluctuations. And at 1:06 and 2:12 it starts like an EOWS.
The blower may or may not be reverse-wired, causing it to sound higher-pitched than normal
