Happy holidays to everyone! I'd like to keep this series going through 2025 and focus on the incredible effort that is about to begin in the Gorge. But I need more subscribers to keep this train rolling. It's just a click away...and the perfect gift. 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
As a former cargo pilot and tech nerd, your channel is one of my favorites. Anybody who knows the torque specs of a massive drill is my friend. Erwin resident here. And you have excellent drone footage. I crashed mine into a pole.
As usual, it's a great video giving us an update of how things are going with rebuilding the railroad. It's priceless to have you doing this and sharing with all of us to see. Thank you for a great video again and Merry Christmas!! Was interesting to see the kayaks going down the river also! Looks pretty scary in some places.
I have been excited for part 6. I will pass along this channel to family. We are all from Mitchell County. We are looking forward to the completion of repairs. Thank you for your channel. Merry Christmas !
Happy holidays to everyone in the USA & especially everyone affected by Helene, god bless. I really hope you can get more subs, it would be great to carry on document the revival of the Clinchfield Sub. I always look forward to new content from you. 😊🎅🤗👍
I'm sure he has permission from the crew doing the work to document the progress. Knowing the situation that Helene left NC in I'm sure they support his efforts too.
The bridge being built, is it replacing one which was washed out during the flood? Will it be for trains or autos? I do not see a bridge in that location on google maps before the flood. Thanks!
@derekdraft5976 This seems to be a temporary bridge for dump trucks and construction equipment so they can get to the road built on the other side of the river. Some environmentalists were complaining about the rock being disturbed in the river, and this also helps with crossing during times of higher water. I expect it will be removed once repairs are completed.
Bradley38.I know it's important to keep the river in good condition but I imagine so much really bad stuff went down that River the fish aren't going to be bothered by a little dirt.
@@taradid409 Exactly! Helene destroyed the river. The river channel is so much larger than it was before the hurricane. It will never be the same again.
Not from the area, so don't have a dog in the hunt, but I'm glad to see CSX rebuilding this RR. I cant imagine CSX doing any worse harm to this river than has already been done by the hurricane. These eco freaks needs to back off and let the RR get their track back in shape and moving freight.
We've watched all your videos. What is the bridge for? Is it a temporary trussel or what? The rail road tracks continue on down the river. Please add a little voice over on these
Thanks for the videos I subscribe to my roommates UA-cam cuz it's attached to the TV then on my phone although I did subscribe on my phone It's really amazing watching this. I'm wondering where they're getting all the Phil are they using any of the stuff that washed down the mountains? Also sometimes there seems to be a lot of people in one area and sometimes it seems to be very few people in one area doing a lot of work. It's pretty amazing. I am curious if they're going to reroute some of these rivers or if they're going to leave them as the storm left them.
I’m assuming all that drilling work is being done for the CSX to build some type of retaining wall? The temporary bridge looks like drivers of whatever equipment uses it need to put their phone up before crossing. It looks narrow as heck! Sure looks like things are getting ready to get real at the washed out bridge! Thanks for keeping us up to date! Hoping you continue this!

Excellent videos, I just subscribed. Watching from Maine. Merry Christmas.
Subbed DURING the first video I saw!
Merry Christmas!
Subscribed! Your work is excellent.
It probably cost more to rebuild one mile of this railroad than the entire Clinchfield RR was capitalized for in 1900.

Can you imagine the overtime pay these guys are getting?
Liking the Clinchfield rebuild series! Just wish you had better background music. 👍

Hope someone has rescued the white cat
I thought I saw alot of inefficiencies and then came the excavator traveling with the wood debris. Haul truck please?
Any chance they will use the Popular abutments and salvageable bridge sections?

Hope you have decent ear gear...Maybe gel filled.
Man running the drill is going to die if hes breathing that dust. Silicosis big time.

Temporary to get equipment to the other side.
How deep are they drilling?? is it solid rock or rubble?
When you see gray dust it's solid rock. Big diameter drill.

2:06 any idea why they are drilling by Pigeon Roost?
Likely a retainer wall for erosion control.
208 ft...got it

half loaded dump trucks WTF
They would mire down in the soft dirt if fully loaded
@@TreeLBollingTreeMan And be overweight if fully loaded.
Paddle faster ! I hear banjo music !
I see more of them 1/2 loaded trucks, being bolders probably not hauling 10 tons.. Screwing the tax payers...
Why would you think the taxpayers have anything to do with this rebuild 🤷🏻♂️
If the trucks carried full weight they would mire down in the soft dirt. Think about it and you will understand.
