i'm currently in year 10 ,and i'm going into year 11 this September, and i'm just freaking out because of the November mocks. My end of year mocks where better than my mid years but still require improvements. Ill make sure to take all these advice seriously and start revising over the summer holidays. Thanks youu
Dear Person that is reading this, Yes You! Exactly You! We don't know each other but I wish you all the best in life. You are amazing, believe in your dreams! 🙏
dw you’ll be fine but start with flashcards or reading the cgp books and then do loads of practice with papers on physicsandmathstutor and savemyexams. You’ll understand so much more with doing questions!
My mocks are in 2 weeks 😭 stressing sm about it. I’m literally so bad at science. There’s so much content idk how to get it in my head. Especially chemistry, I just don’t understand it. I’m predicted a 5-5 for it.
good luck! after christmas, do as many past paper questions as possible and try to use freesciencelessons yt videos to understand the content…really hope u do well!! 😀
Hey ahmed, great video. Basically for my mocks i got some topics i did in year 10 and 9 as well as the topics i've done in this year till now. For my history exam i have about 90 pages that ill need to learn/understand by the 4th week of november. Any tips? (Im an IGCSE student)
Hi, I recommend going through and highlighting/picking out key info only: like names, dates and places. For example, for the Cold War topic, I remembered that there were key events like the CMC and Prague Spring and then remembered the other important related to them via association.
I also recommend blurting the information, get a sheet of paper and write down everything u know about a specific topic and then go through the textbook and see what you missed. This is active recall, so should really help to remember the info!
Really hope that helps and I’m making a video this week on how to revise for essay based subjects like History, I’ll try and go more in depth there! Stay tuned :))
Yes quizlet is also quite good even though it doesn’t have an active recall feature or there is a free version of anki on computer rather than ios that you could try perhaps?
@hibah Anwar, hi for literature the best thing to do is know notes, quotes and context. The quotes you learn should span as much as the play as possible and then try and learn language analysis (or notes) for them and whether there an example of a metaphor or anaphora: etc. Good thing to do is to use notes you made in class as well as SparkNotes which also has some good analysis. The other thing is social context, so for example we’re doing Macbeth so I had to learn social context about jacobean times and christian religion to then make it relevant to the play. After learning all that, try and do timed essays to see how long it takes you to get across your ideas and the more you do this, the better and faster you’ll become at writing the essay. One step closer to that grade 7, 8 or 9!! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to know and hope that helps :D
yes you can do that or save them onto a device and complete them like that or do them with the markscheme open for the first few times to check how they want you to answer. I’ll make a video on ‘how to use past papers’ very soon and hopefully that will help you out !!
Hi, I’m revising for mocks and making/learning flashcards on anki. For the sciences (I was just revising chemistry and fractional/simple distillation) there are many practicals and you can’t really make a Q and A flashcard on them as you need to know all the steps which are a lot. How do I go about memorising the practicals and steps taken in completing them.
For practicals, I decided to note down the most important ones and draw the diagrams out with the steps below to memorise that’s what normally helps me, hope that makes sense :)
I wish I found you in yr10 , in yr 11 and your videos motivate and help me and quick question what is the book separate clip called the black clip which keeps the book open
thanks so much bro! The clip is called a book stand or book page holder, great to keep textbooks open lol. I got mine on Amazon for £6/7. Hope that helps :)
No problem! Ye, for poetry the best thing to do is revise key quotations and phrases form the poem and any language analysis that your teacher has given you. After revising the poems, try and do timed (or untimed at first) practice papers to get a feel for what to do in the actual exam. Good revision of quotes, notes and context should help you secure that A!
Hey man, just subbed. Thanks for these uploads. I've got my mocks in like 2 weeks time. A bit stressful 'cause all I've been doing is just making notes and doing questions except it takes really long per topic for a subject. Maybe digitalising notes would be good than handwritten. I hope I do well. Btw, any more tips for maths 'cause I'm doing foundation and I really need to get that Grade 5. Also, how many hours do you spend per subject? 😅
Hi man, thanks for subscribing! Hopefully u do great in your mocks! My best tip for maths is to do loads of questions and also attempt high grade questions that if done well will 100% ensure you get the grade 5 in your mocks. Cover the basics well and fully and you should do great 👍.
In terms of how long I spend on work and revision it defo depends. On weekends I’ll probably be doing just as much work as is needed and any catch-up revision so this could be 2hr to 6hr but for weekdays it might only be 2 to 3hr max. In half term, I’ve been trying to spend as long as possible to fully learn the content and on average I think I spend 4hr a day covering all the sciences and maths. It sounds like a lot but with so many different topics and subjects it really doesn’t seem so XD. Hope all that info helped and once again, thanks for watching and subscribing!!
Thank you so much for this video, one question, which year was your biology, chemistry, and physics paper from, and was it a specimen paper or an actual paper? could you please tell me the first question that you can remember from it at least? It will be my pleasure to see you replying to this message.
Hey, do you know if the physics and maths tutor flashcards are good enough to remember all the content, and then use past papers as well to score well?
Thank you so much .I am also in year 11 .Even though I have done my mock but I have mock in February. That was really really really helpful. If you don't mind can I ask you a question have you done your mock or you gonna do it later???🤔🤔🤔
@@ahmedkraja I have another question and request do you do RE.If you do then can you make a video how to revise them please 😭😭..If you don't do RE then that's fine I asked because lots of people do RE that's why.
yes cause even if you haven’t made them all by your mocks, if you finish them by Christmas they’ll be an excellent resource to use for the actual exams :)
I did mine from my textbook with the spec nearby cause that’s what’s closer to the exam you’ll have to take but freesciencelessons’ videos are great too. hope that helps!
Hii i’m doing my mocks soon in three weeks and i’m doing past papers from maths and physics tutor for triple im seeing what I get wrong do I make flashe cards from questions or repeat the paper until I get it all right.
Because your mocks are so soon, I’d say maybe leave the flashcards until afterwards and right now focus on redoing the questions and revising the content. Try to revise things such as potential 6 markers that will get you loads of marks! Then you can make flashcards after your mocks for your real GCSE’s, hope that helps :D
I recommend identifying what topics you still need to work on and then doing as much content revision and questions as possible. If u more or less know everything else you should be fine for mocks and will do great if you can sort out anything you struggle with in advance of the actual exams, hope that helps :D
For us, our teacher told us. For example, biology it’s only B1 to B7, so I think try asking your teachers and if you don’t get told then revise the important things first that will definitely come up and then the topics your struggle with in case they come up, hope that makes sense :)
Hi, it would be good to start making them and trying to finish them by christmas so you have them available for your actual exams but in terms of your mocks, learn the content as best you can and do as many past papers and questions as possible and that should help you do great!
Learning the content the best you can and doing as many questions as possible. Try using spaced repetition to space out your topics to come back to see whether you need to revise it more or not. But questions are the best practice. Also focus on any weak areas you think you have and after all that work you should defo get a great grade :)
@@ahmedkraja I started doing flashcards but as mocks are quite soon I might just use Seneca, free science lessons and practice questions as flashcards are long lmao

Yes! As soon as I get to sixth-form all my notes will be digitalised. In fact if you’re able to do that now, without it being a hassle, then I’d say go for it because imo digital notes have more ease of access and more advantages than traditional notes.
