The Swedish Ikv 103 tank destroyer is considered overpowered by many War Thunder players due to it having access to HEAT-FS shells at a low battle rating. This allows it to go through any tank it sees, though it leaves a lot to be desired in the damage department.

My favorite part is the little hole the gunner peeks out thru, although it does make it an open top for damage calcs

It was mainly designed as a HE lobber for infantry support. The heat fs was only a stopgap to not have to purchase/build as many mbts.
It's really not that small. It's not comfortably large, of course, but these games give people a warped sense of how big a tank is. Even the small ones are pretty big.

honestly tho i have no idea why its so bad for spookston for me it does consistent damage and i can 1/2 hit kill 90% (without hitting ammo) of the time with the 103
god, I just love the t-34s having the composite fuel tank armour at rank II 1:55

They need to buff it, it had a three round burst mode irl and there was a bunch of cool vehicles with it
This might be something that could be a Battle Pass vehicle, but what if Gaijin added the T40/M9 Tank Destroyer to the game? It's basically a beta design of the M10, armed with the same 76mm gun as the M10, but based on the chassis of the M3 Lee rather than the Sherman.
Imo, just about every TD and SPG for the US should be added into their tree since the US TD line is so incredibly anemic.

Love that tank. Sometimes it can be frustrating when heat suddenly stops working. But it feels nice to kill heavy that team struggles to penetrate.

I have noticed the HEAT shenanigans with the M51, and except for the ability to overpressure people, it seems weirdly similar to APDS .
Now i have an urge to grind sweden too...

Well kinda. HEAT is apds, but doesnt suck against angled armor and can overpressure stuff.
@@alexturnbackthearmy1907 Honestly? I have a counterpoint. How usefull APDS is depends of it's caliber. Belive me or not, but my 105 sabo fired from the L7 almost never shatters or pens with zero damage. Sometimes, but VERY rarely does it ricochet. Most of the time it slices clean through and does about as much damage as 17pdr's mk8 shot. So a two-tap/oneshot most of the time. 17/20pdr penetrates and does nothing, and 120mm shatters like crazy. There's something about the 105 one that makes it work. Plus you can't forget about how easy to aim it is

Have had nearly nothing but good games with this one, the speed and firepower and rather fast reload is just amazing at it's br. And with the speed to get into good positions to utilize the great gun depression and generally just for zipping around quickly with a big gun just makes for fun gameplay imo.
Its so fun. I prefer the 42 or pkv m/43 but the heatfs is the best god mode farming machine ive found other than the archer. It also actually has neutral steering, which makes it a dream to use

There were findings while testing the STRV 103 when taking side shots while having the jerry cans mounted on the outside along the side of the hull, heat shells would sometimes defuse off the jerry cans therefore no damage to the tank or crew. I could see similar results with the internal gas tanks as well

It shouldn't have been added in the first place. Vehicles likes this are toxic, as they ruin heavy tanks as a class, and if you uptier them, they are useless. Same for fast vehicles like btrs and r3t20

You should play tier 1 Japan medium tanks, they get a low velocity HEAT shells that overpressure everything and is quite funny to use

You should play the CV-90-105 there's a lot of people that think it's absolutely busted even though it's honestly suboptimal unless under perfect conditions. I know I asked this ages ago but figured I'd try asking again
Thr swefish tree fits my playstyle surprisingly well, since I primarly focus on goblinmaxxing. I have a blast with the widespread great gun depression and speed.
On another note, good luck with your surgery. Never a fun thing to go through. Don't feel obligated to keep on a video schedule if you feel awful

Hey spookston, i've noticed a rather, eh, *interesting* weakspot of both jagdpanters at 4.7br in protection analysis. If you manage to hit their track high enough from the front, you can ricochet your bullet into their underside, with relatively low pen. Best of all, it has a decent chance to one shot with aphc (tested with swedish t-34 regular aphc 87mm pen), either one shotting crew or hitting ammo.
I think it would be very interessting to see if this is actually possible to hit in a match.

I love the ikv103. It's mobility is damn good and I've used to dance around 2 enemy tanks while somehow surviving
ait, i have an idea for a challange video, or perhaps a normal one. play the sidam (the italion 8.3 spaa) as a tank destroyer with its ap belt, it only gets something like 60 rounds odd, but it hits like a truck being able to delete enemy tanks in a litteral single burst
