They had to he was on suicide watch and needed mental health care. Most jails don’t have access to mental heath professionals like prisons do. It’s pretty darn well known that prisons are better equipped than jails. He was even offered his own TV by the warden, he had his own iPad. Jails don’t have that.
RA was tortured in prison by the guards and inmates, kept in solitary confinement for 13 months, so no, his confessions don't mean anything, the man had a nervous breakdown, put on strong drugs against his will, and starts confessing 61 times, how can anybody take that seriously. There's no evidence that RA did this crime, and the bullet can fit in to millions of guns. Police and detectives screwed this whole case up. I know people want to see somebody pay for this crime, and so do I, but it's not RA, they got the wrong guy. I don't know how this even went to the grand jury.
👏👏👏👏 this man is innocent!! It’s very clear that these law-enforcement are lazy clearly didn’t do their job. Thank you for not being biased and providing all the facts of the case. This is not a cut and dry case and since the public does not have access it is even more important to get the true facts of case for public to make own decision on this case
This IS a cut and dry story - he was there, he admitted it, other people saw him, his cartridge is there, his phone mysteriously disappeared and now there is that white van. What confession is needed?
@@bambinaforever1402no, he did not. The cartridge was planted, the police was after someone, no matter what. I don't even think the cartridge is from him at all.
He had a "single" room by himself in a state maximum prison, complete with three meals a day, a tablet, a TV, access to phone calls, recreation and 3 showers a week. His clothes were laundered and they granted him extra family visits. Sounds more like a hotel stay than solitary confinement. They did this for his protection. Had something happened to him in the prison's "general population", that's all we would have heard about from that moment on. It's a catch 22 and IMO, he was hardly solitarily confined and offered way more accommodations than the other prisoners there.
He confessed when he was in an extremely vulnerable and bad mental state. They knew it and might have easily fed him with information beforehand. He seems to be the third victim in this case. It's a pity that the investigation has been confucted so poorly!

Westville has already been successfully sued for 8th Amendment violations and they’re going to be shut down. This is a constitutional & human rights violation. I think he was having mental problems before he even killed them. For 1, you have to be a little off to do something like this, and 2 he checked himself into some kind of mental hospital a few days after the murders.

Damn, is every prosecution witness not believable, who are these people? Lying, getting fired, doing side podcasts while being a state witness lots of weird things around this case. I need to hear something that is more convincing because the state is looking really really bad.
I live in Indiana. There is not much respect (by “government” for the residents here or our rights). Carroll county has a special touch of corruption. They had hoped to keep this case “in-house”, quiet and secure their conviction … but Richard Allen actually got genuine defense attorneys, who were thrown off the case for a time. They made the arrest WITHOUT a genuine case against Allen and have been scrambling since to find the “evidence” to put him away, all to win a sheriff’s election 2022. It’s more than sickening; truly evil. No justice for victims or the falsely accused, if Indiana “wins”.
I can't think of a single witness the prosecution called that didnt get caught perjuring or changing their story from their original deposition. The corruption here is on full display.
The treatment of someone PRE TRIAL not convicted of a crime, is criminal. Not held in a jail. Sent to the hole in a max security prison. People were incensed about kohberger being provided vegan meals yet these "guards" were the opposite end of the spectrum and didn't respect any of his rights. So disgusting. This could be ANY of us. No wonder the despicable judge barred cameras in the courtroom. She should be looked at hard as well.
People putting so much weight into confessions in these types of cases is bizarre to me. Basically if you believe his confessions are true then you're saying you believe he's a cold blooded double murderer of two innocent young girls but if that's the case, why would you believe anything he says? Kind of an interesting thought experiment. I personally take any confession with a grain of salt as we all should but unfortunately people who know very well people make false confessions all the time will ignore that if they already believe a person is guilty. I guarantee most people who say "if he didn't do it why would he confess? He must be guilty" would argue the exact opposite in other cases where it's known a confession was false. Brendan Dassey (Making a Murderer) is a great example, I doubt people who say Allen must be guilty because he confessed would say the same about Dassey.. Edit: Seems people think him mentioning the van is proof his confessions are genuine but it's a small town, word spreads fast about that type of thing. I'm sure there was plenty of speculation regarding that and as the woman in the video said, she's known about that for years so it's understandable Allen might as well. And people seem to think it's a fact the killer was scared off by the van so Allen mentioning it must mean he's guilty but that's just a theory. We don't know if that's what happened...
I have a question,WHERE IS HIS CAR? Did they process the car for evidence? Playing devils advocate, if the man slashed two people then walked out to the road where he was supposedly seen by a witness covered in mud and blood and then got into his car, there would be evidence, even years later. Did anyone process his car? I'd be looking at the floor mat, carpeting and the underside of dash and drivers seat. There would be trace evidence, it's not a part of the car that people overlook when cleaning.
If we’re going off what he says then no. He also said he’s not the guy in the picture, he didn’t do it etc. I know everyone is foaming at the mouth for a conviction but we gotta see the evidence

Many UA-cam lawyers hinge their thoughts on the interviews of Allen in 2022. That Allen’s denials are convincing. After 5 years of telling lies even believing it himself. Allen’s denial would indeed be convincing and polished

Do you know how many crimes don’t have DNA?!?!? A surprising amount. Are you saying that since there’s no DNA left, that nobody murdered the girls?? Or can we at least agree on the fact that the girls were murdered?? Let’s say RA did NOT do it and it was some other guy. That guy did not leave his DNA and would not match any of the DNA found at the scene. So, during his trial they would also not be able to connect him to the crime scene and the girls via DNA. But the absence of DNA does not mean that the girls were not murdered, that a crime was not committed and that the guy on trial for their murder did not do it or that he should be found not guilty. Let’s say RA DID do it. The girls were still murdered, there was still no DNA at the crime scene or on the girls that could match and link RA to the crime. But it does not mean that he did not murder those girls, did not commit that crime and that he should be found not guilty! DNA is not a requirement to convict someone. That’s bc DNA is not always found at the scene of the crime or on the victim/victims! The absence of DNA does not mean that a crime was NOT committed and it does NOT mean that whomever is on trial did not do it and should be found not guilty! There are countless cases where no DNA was found at the crime scene, not on the murder weapon, not on the victim/victims!! COPIOUS amount of cases!! There are also a crap load of prisoner who’ve been found guilty and convicted of a crime where there is no DNA!!
Have you even watched the trial? Like I mean this genuinely. The hair wrapped around Abbey's hand came back to Kelsi German, Libby's sister. And you can't test for DNA off just a strand of hair you need a folicle, and the strand I'm speaking of had a FOLICLE of DNA.
I have never seen so much doubt in a case. It would be a shame if he were convicted and would set dangerous precedent for anyone charged with a crime moving forward.

If they exist, that would be evidence the defense would present. Thats _if they actually exist and this actually happened!_ Once the defense rests, if they have not presented any tapes as evidence showing the guards so-called “taunting RA”, then no such evidence exists and it did not happen! *In a court of law and our justice system, if you cannot prove something happened, then it did not happen.* So, we’ll see _if_ the defense presents any evidence as to that supposedly happening or not. Considering they made *zero mention* of it in their opening and they haven’t brought it up on cross examination of the guards and warden when they were testifying, *they’re not even alleging that happened, it does not sound like they have any evidence showing such a thing and that it is not something we should expect them to be presenting during their case in chief!* So, I would *not hold my breath waiting for this to happen!* _This is _*_NOT_*_ a fictional novel or a movie, we’re existing in _*_reality and the real world_*_ right now!_
I wasn’t so unsure prior to the trial but I am leaning towards guilt. They then threw this man in solitary confinement for 13 months. It's well known, and he prison doctor confirmed, that more than 30 days in solitary can cause mental breakdown. The lights in his tiny cell were on 24/7 which is torture. He was surrounded by other inmates that screamed child killer at him on a regular basis. He was given his discovery to look at. He was told by police they had 100% proof he did it when that was not true. He confessed to many things that were not true, such as killing his grandchildren that don't even exist, or losing g the cartridge on the bridge when that isn't where it is found. From what I have heard so far, it seems that the girls had already died when they were stripped. Not verbatim: "There was no blood on the (naked) body, although the throat was cut and bloody. Apparently the (missing) clothing absorbed the blood." It follows to me that the girl was put to death first and then undressed.
Thank God they do a 20 minute recap of this case everytime they talk about it as if the producer has a concussion, because I don't know what my stupid lack of memory mind would ever do without Mr Vinny P dramatically saying it over and over like ten second Tom 😂😂
@stephaniesmart he also admitted to murdering his grandchildren. He doesn't have grandchildren. He admitted to losing the cartridge on the bridge. It wasn't found on the bridge. I read that "Richard Allen buying beer on the day of the murders" "did not check out", though I wondered how......what someone bought 7 or 8 years ago.....was checked out.......surely not CCTV....!?!......possibly someone's bank card usage? To check out the check out.....but I feel like doing that.
I have questions.. Where is the boxcutter? Where is his clothes with the blood on it? (surely there should have been blood spatter on it? - there was a lot of blood on the scene) Why isn't there blood (their dna) in his car? Is it possible for someone who is already suicidal, that is under suicidal watch and treated as an already convicted criminal, to give in, in hopes of a death sentence? How easy is it to pressure someone with mental issues to give in? Why 2 different sketches? Was the landlord interviewed? Was that property searched?
As one example; I know that forensic methods can find traces of blood from clothes that have been washed one time etc etc. I am surprised that they don't have more evidence from the bodies, you can put a body in a fog of superglue, the superglue attaches to fingerprints _left on the naked skin of the body...._ Seems like they dropped the ball big time. And these methods have existed over 10 years.
I agree! More questions: Why no drag marks for Libby? How did the phone receive SMS msgs at 4:30am on the 14th? Why did they not ask any eye witness to identify RA sitting at the defense table as Bridge Guy? 100% innocent.
He said he was wearing same clothes as bridge guy. He puts himself there that day. So someone is dressed like him and happens to be there on bridge during the timeframe that he was there and killed the girls? Guys. Wake up. He did it. His search history too. Cmon

He had a "single" room by himself in a state maximum prison, complete with three meals a day, a tablet, a TV, access to phone calls, recreation and 3 showers a week.

So the girls get no justice because there's no dna?

@@Actingbadlythat's incorrect. LE had other suspects
@@KylieJackson-Bell they had suspects and cleared them. But, if they wanted to frame someone and railroad like all the RA defenders keep claiming, law enforcement had ppl way earlier on in the case they could have done that to and “solved” the crime way earlier and faster. Law enforcement had no reason to frame RA and to wait so long to frame him. If they were going to frame someone, they could have done it w someone else way earlier on in the case and “solved” the case sooner. But most ppl who are claiming law enforcement is framing RA don’t make much sense and aren’t the sharpest shovels in the shed.
@KylieJackson-Bell Sure, of course. Yet none arrested. If one is to claim a LE set up, then why wait 5 years and why this suspect? Foolish comments like, 'they needed a conviction' are based in no logic or facts.
Absolutely not.
If you look at the sketches, they look exactly like him.
That young guy sketch is why townspeople didnt recognize him as the killer, he could stand right next to it and no one would think they were the same person
Vikings wouldn't do that
The girls should have recognized Richard Allen. They were scared of bridge guy.
They could have video of this goofy killing these poor kids and these same morons will still say he’s innocent. What’s wrong with this country??
Im proud of you for showing the other side of this! Thank you🇺🇸💙☮️❤️😻🐾🐶
Richard is being threatened to confess to a murder he didn't do. The police can make you say you did it and if you refuse they beat you up. And you end up fleaing. It happened to my friend 😮
I can say I honestly believe this...I know how the police are there...no I may not be an innocent person from time to time and most people that have encountered cops normally hate them or have nothing good to say about them...I strongly believe there are good police officers out there...do I want to bad mouth the Carroll county police department no I don't...but they have done some shady stuff before getting body cams...just because someone is a police officer, judge, attorney and such doesn't mean they won't do no bad I think it will help investigators with this case if they think outside of the box because maybe one of the cops did it or a judge...we will never know because they could be looking at the wrong guy...since day one the case has been scattered and not handled properly and to be honest I think it looks like someone is hiding there tracks and putting it on an innocent man
💯
Atty. Motta is a quick learner, he manages to pack as many relevant facts into his seconds now. Good, bad & ugly.
I have no idea what to think about this case. As always, great job Vinnie, my favorite true crime Channel!💯💯
Mine too but lately I come back to watch the video vs watching live because Andrea Burkhart (attorney) who is there daily and goes live every night at 6:30 and Lawyer Lee who is also there has a livestream after and also puts out a video. So in order...I watch Andrea Burkhart, then I come to court tv video then I watch Lawyer Lee. I learn something from all of them. If you really want to do a deep dive check out Attorney Melanie Little. She has a video on all the other suspects that this corrupt judge will not allow the defense to use due to 3rd party culprit. Sickening.
@@5GreenAcresAndrea is the BOSS on this case!
@@5GreenAcresLawyer Lee is good as well!
@@musicismagic3001 not really.
The Murder Sheet is providing excellent and fair daily coverage from inside the trial. Definitely check them out!
I am getting so mad watching this...The evidence is 60 confessions, his gimp walk and his jacket identified and his voice on video they proved to be him, (Down the hill) other witnesses testified to seeing him walk on the trail. It's disgusting how defense attorneys carry on when it's so sad what happened, It's so disgusting and how he can complain about conditions in jail...IT'S JAIL! Sorry! I feel so sorry for those girls families! God be with them!
You telling me a psychologist, gonna have main power? You tell me hypnotizing him to confe. Can you respect the audience better
JLR is such a show off, That screaming at people before trial just because he also holds Nicks underwear, That made me drop him.
Richard Allen didn't get rid of his clothes from that day, his car or his gun
Also: 5’4” RA admits he bought a six-pack, drank “three beers,” before his walk. (Probably more, & drove drunk?) For 7 years State refuses to use a Geofence to search for every phone in that area🤷♀️
No his confessions cannot be trusted...he broke down mentally after being wrongfully accused.
Oh yes. He was broke by his lawyers who showed him how to fake insanity and get away with the crime. He confessed at first to his wife and mother, before he met his lawyers who messed with his mind and he started faking. So popular strategy recently among criminals and their defense. Also, he wanted to confess to feel a relieve but they wouldn't let him.
I have commented so much about this case on various channels, I could make a very lengthy post but I won't, what I do want to say is, which has no connection the the crime itself, is, I cannot believe it was legal and deemed safe to walk on that bridge, this is the first time I've seen it from the side so just had to say it
I don't agree how Richard Allen has been treated in jail. However, I can't get past that 2 men similar in build wearing similar clothes would be on the same bridge around the same time. What are the odds ??? I bet small...
Half of the population of Indiana has similar clothes and build and at least 70 people were on the same bridge around the same time....
@@gauisblach7757 70 people were on the bridge that day around 2pm? Yet 3 girls who are witnesses say the only one they saw was the guy in the BG video? Sure ok
And wow a man kidnapped 2 girls, forced them down the hill with 70 people around? This guy is really good at this I guess.
Oh the details. Heartbreaking and terrifying ❤❤❤ beautiful girls
They said they didn't think they'd be able to keep him safe in the jail. That's their job to keep prisoners safe!
They can’t videotape properly, they lose tips for years and have a backlog of arsons resulting in deaths … these are not law enforcement or investigators, they are “good old boys” and said so publicly shortly before the 2023 sheriff election.
And he wouldn’t have got round the clock mental health care in jail either.
He’s guilty AF
Who is this lady making excuses for Richard! 🙄 Richard wanted to get what he done off his chest....! PeriodT
@LoveMyDaisyGirl911 murderers don't want to get things off their chest. They aren't capable of empathy. He had preexisting mental health issues. He was arrested because the detective believed the cartridge being linked to his gun was as reliable as a paternity test, his words. It is in fact, not. It's very controversial science and even if it is to be believe the expert herself aid she cannot say it came from his gun it's consistent with his gun and she can't estimate how many other guns it could be consistent with, but she confirmed there could be more matches. He was diagnosed as psychotic and drugged. He was eating his own feces. There is no proof he is guilty.
This entire case is such a mess. Regardless of the outcome, I don’t think anyone will feel confident that justice will be served
I'm so torn
Me too, I’ve been a fence sitter for so long with this case. It’s just so frustrating.
Not guilty. Cannot be fooled by evil. Crime scene is too complicated and complex for a normal guy like Allen could have committed in a short time.
if they are so convinced its him ask him what was under his jacket on the bridge
They weren’t Sa’d??? They were forced to get naked at gunpoit at the minimum!! Tht doesn’t qualify as SA??? Thts crazy if not!
Making these underage or even if they were adults undress is still a form of SA!! It's demeaning
Poor Abby watched Libby die, and then had to dress in her clothes while being held at gunpoint and then killed😢
@@MizzTracyyou have no idea if that’s what happened ffs
@@MizzTracyYou must have been there! Why were you not called as a witness? 🤔🤔🤔
For me - he lost all benefit of any doubt when he confessed he had been & had also molested, while talking about the confession?!!
Well you’re not to smart are you people have been confessing to crimes they haven’t done for a long time
How do you feel about the 3 other suspects that also confessed to this crime?
@@Maggiemay72493 but - did they also admit that they had molested children ?!
Let’s put you in solitary for 13 months and see what you confess to after that.
@stephaniesmart he also admitted to murdering his grandchildren. He doesn't have grandchildren. He admitted to losing the cartridge on the bridge. It wasn't found on the bridge. He admitted in lying in wait and then jumping out to attack them. The video the girls took show that isn't how it happened.
I am surprised that they don't have more evidence from the bodies, you can put a body in a fog of superglue, the superglue attaches to fingerprints _left on the naked skin of the body...._
Seems like they dropped the ball big time.
And these methods have existed over 10 years.
There is no dna evidence from RA linking him to this crime. Zero
I agree! More questions: Why no drag marks for Libby? How did the phone receive SMS msgs at 4:30am on the 14th? Why did they not ask any eye witness to identify RA sitting at the defense table as Bridge Guy? 100% innocent.
Does anyone know who's voice it is yelling "Richard Allen you child murder...shame on you .."?
JLR
@annabelleroma2336 thanks
He said he was wearing same clothes as bridge guy. He puts himself there that day. So someone is dressed like him and happens to be there on bridge during the timeframe that he was there and killed the girls? Guys. Wake up. He did it. His search history too. Cmon
Thanks Vinnie , it’s important the truth gets out there
First of the week I was looking at him as pretty innocent, then after hearing the doctor telling us about his behaviour in jail , along with his confessions I’m see him guilty as heck ,what a messed up trial! Thank you Court TV. 😊
The Dr that was heavily following the case in online chat groups and admitted to giving him info from online sleuths??
@@Anypronouns76what does the doctor have to gain either way? No skin in the game.
@@Anypronouns76 So what to her having an interest in following true crime in her personal life. She was professional and believable. The only thing she told him was that there were people out there on his side and for that she did lose her job.
@@saraha5847I don't think it's about her gaining anything, but her ethics are severely in question now . She was spilling the tea with him daily .... Wth ??
Maybe he got crazy due to his living conditions and the way they treated him
I'm in no way qualified enough to call this one way or the other, but the more I hear, the more I question Richard Allen's guilt... I just don't know 🤔
