I locked my 2021 camry se keys in the trunk at the grocery. Mine doesn’t have it. I had to get my car towed to the dealership. My spare key was inside the glovebox and I didn’t know it. It was never told to me. It took a day and half to get my car unlocked.

My son and I went through numerous variables trying to determine how to lock it. Sometimes it won't open, sometimes it will. So i'm looking for a way to ensure its LOCKED when i need it to be locked.

So what the hell do you do if either the car battery is dead, the key fob battery is dead or you just plain have an electrical gremlin and yet you may have some emergency item to get to in the trunk?
I also have an SE that doesn't have the button. My theory is that if you have push button start (which means no physical key, only the fob) then you get the button, but if you do have a physical key then you'll get the key hole on the left side of the trunk and that's how you open it manually.

Flip key you get key access, push start remote comes with push button because flip key doesn’t continuously send out signals to unlock doors and trunk button needs that signal to open

I have a 2002 Toy Camry and was followed to a grocery store from the Apple store. Thieves broke my driver window but THANKS to the trunk lock safety feature, they didn’t get my new MBP or older desktop model. I won’t buy a 2025 Camry or keep anything of value in the trunk of the 2025 rental I’m currently driving.

Just bought a 2023 Camry LE and looked for this button it doesn’t have it. I mean come on Toyota how much does it cost to just put this button. Over the years Toyota is just cutting corners to save money. Add to the damn price but at least put these little things.
I had a rental car with the flip key. Locked the keys in the trunk with my bag. Took 45 minutes to get a metal pole to hit the trunk hold open button - nothing happened at all. We got the door open and that still didn’t allow the button to work. The best part? There’s no access to drop the back seats from inside the car. After 2 hours, We had to literally pry the seat behind the driver and use a pole while FaceTiming a phone to pull the key to our hand. Shit design.
Idk why they make camrys like this like it a just a small different and it be with same model like some se’s got the blind spot monitor in the mirror and some dont like they’re all se’s make them the same ughhhhh

So when my battery died and I needed to get into the trunk for jumper cables I was unable to. My SE doesn’t have the button.
I stand corrected. I do not have a button in the right side. But on the left side is where I can insert the key to unlock it.

If you have the key in your pocket you dont need to unlock the door and hit the trunk button on the inside.
