Storage Shed Stealth Camp and MRE Meal - Inspired By Camping With Steve
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лис 2023
- 2 years ago, Steve Wallis @campingwithsteve did a video (Stealth Camping at a Home Depot) where he camped outside of a Home Depot. He attempted to make a Canadian MRE, but the accelerant had expired, and he did not have a stove. So, he went to a pub for a quick meal and when he was returning to his site, just before he entered the woods through a hole in the fence he mentioned that people have suggested to him that he sleeps in a storage shed. He commented that he had never found one that was unlocked at either a Home Depot or Lowe's or one of those locations but then he mentioned that he did find one that was unlocked but somebody was already living in there. After seeing that video a year ago, I decided that I would find a storage shed and cook an MRE.
This video is the result of many months of searching and planning. Therefore, I wanted to dedicate this video to my friend Steve Wallis for his many years of inspiring others.

Awesome stealth! Haha, you win stealth camping this week.
I came to the comments just to see if you watched and commented yet 😂
How awesome Steve really appreciate that hope I did you justice
@@randomadventures2.0 you two should meet up camp sumwer unusual
@@RootsLion yes one day it might happen I have a car in will travel LOL
Thank You Steve Tony is one of my favorites and You of course . I also watch every one of yours.
Ha ha, dang Tony, this has got to be the most illegal stealth camp I've ever seen.
Yeah this one was a little on edge
If you’re looking for a label for this type of stealth, maybe consider calling it TRESPASSING😂. -And you were wondering why people were pulling into the parking lot! What kind of mischief were THEY up to? So much fun to watch! Still laughing.
Like I said this had to have been the most stressful Camp how was ever at
Your right! TRESPASSING!!! and This was defiantly on the edge!@@mnmikeoutdoors8595
almost all stealth camping is trespassing. @@mnmikeoutdoors8595
It's as if someone combined Steve Wallis & Crazy Neighbor into one cool dude...
... Minus the beer and blowtorch, of course.
Why thank you very much I yeah I'm really honored to be mentioned in the same sentence with those two. Yes there may not be beer but definitely plenty of coffee and I got to get my blowtorch skills up to par but I do use a mean feral Rod LOL
"feral rod" for starting fires in the wild with a ferro rod? I like that.
I first got serious with ferro rods when a friend who had been in the Marines in the sandbox in the 90's introduced me to the "Strike Force" system which has a place for tinder in the handle.
Recently I added (thanks to Felix Immler of SAK UA-cam fame) a Firefly ferro rod to my Victorinox SAK's in place of the toothpick. Some tinder goes on the corkscrew (with a bit of shrink tubing to keep it intact).
So now my "Officer's knife" can go fully "feral."
Reminds me of an older tv show love it
How awesome to have Steve Wallis commenting on this one. Outdoors Unsupervised did an awesome Home Depot shed stealth months ago you should check it out. Brandon is a good up and coming stealth UA-camr. I think you two may even have the same intro music lol. Great video as always!
Yes it was the huge blessing then Steve stopped by and commented. Several months ago he popped in on one of our Sunday Night lives always good to hear from him. He's got a good video out tonight and he is traveling so definitely be keeping him in prayer for travel mercies. Yes definitely going to watch that several others mentioned it as well I have seen some of his videos and maybe if he gets out this direction we will have to get together
One of the riskiest stealth camps I've seen, all credit to you. A really great watch, thank you😊
Perfect thank you so much Michelle I am really glad you enjoyed this one that one was probably the most hesitant and scared I ever was as far as being caught
4 star stealthing is what I’d call it
I like it
Urban Rats sent me to your channel, great videos I'm subscribed. Greetings from Vancouver Island.
Greetings my friend and welcome to the 2.0 family and I am looking forward to you watching more of these random Adventures and I want to thank Urban rats as I am subscribed and watch his videos as well
User's comment: "I love going camping with my family! It's such a great way to bond and enjoy nature. Will definitely check out this powerstation for our next trip!"Your reply: "Camping with family is a precious time to create beautiful memories! Having a reliable power source like the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series can definitely enhance your outdoor experience. Its massive capacity and fast recharging make it perfect for powering your devices and appliances during extended trips. Check it out, it might be a great addition to your camping gear!"
Yes a power station definitely makes a great addition to camping
Should have warmed your bread and cheese spread up. Game changer for that meal
You know when I was holding the bread up to the camera with the cheese on it I thought man I should have heated that up then made it more enjoyable and you just confirmed my thought LOL
Great vid. i bought a barn style shed and turned into a cabin, full functioning home, solar power, rain catching system. They are getting more popular for folks wanting to go off grid or have cabins out in the woods, make Airbnb, or guest houses. if you insulate it well , its like any house.
Wow that is so awesome yes they would make great starter homes or a tiny house my mind was working quite a bit while I was in there and also looking at the different ones.
I enjoyed your escapade, Steve's videos are definitely awesome. Maybe next time you could push the envelope and order a pizza. 😂 Have fun sir !
Absolutely 100% Steve's videos are awesome and I like your thought there to push the envelope in order pizza
Rick from Tennessee sent me here. Really enjoy this!
I really appreciate that if you see Rick again tell him thank you and welcome to the 2.0 family my friend
Hands down the best stealth camping video ever. I have shed builders all around where I live and have always wondered if I camped out in one for the night if I would be found. You and Steve Wallis should meet up some time and double down on the Stealth camping adventure that would be awesome 2.0. Awesome video.😁😁
Brother that is a huge compliment thank you so much my friend
I have previously watched your vids under my other channel, Brothers in Bond, but have subbed you now here on my new outdoor adventure channel. Your videos have been my biggest inspiration to get out there and share my adventures on UA-cam. Thanks for all you do, and for being who you are. Enjoy Hang Con, and I’ll see you on the next random adventure. God bless, brother!

Hey David you are awesome so this is your new channel I'm subscribed to the old one I'll have to look to see if it comes up when I get home or I will type it in and take a look here in a little bit thank you so much for sharing that you are being inspired that really inspires me to continue to do my best much love brother and many blessings for your channel as well
You can call it the Hideout Hilton. Good video.

Name for your shed: Shed Inn by Random Hotels
That's a good one I like that
The beef stew MRE was always one I went for because surprisingly a lot of other Marines would pass it up to get to the better ones so I usually got to it first. I would mix the cheese in and the hot sauce and heat it up in the jet boil I always brought with me and dip the bread in the broth to soften it up. I always loved going to the field for weeks and months at a time because even if the training was brutal, which being in the infantry it always was, when it was all said and done it was like camping but I had all of my best friends with me. And most of us were always sneaking liquor out with us so that’s always something to lighten the mood lol.
Thank you for your service and that is a great fact about the beef stew and I really appreciate you sharing that with me I didn't realize that so many people would have not gone for that one. Dipping that bread in it I'm sure would have definitely helped LOL
Pretty cool idea.
Awesome thank you
I don’t usually go in for this stuff man but this guy is like really ,, don’t wanna say lovable but I’m straight, lol. He would be a amazing friend. Too much fun. Love it, if it wasn’t for his child like personality I couldn’t watch it. Yeh.. lol
Well 36 years of marriage to my wife I'm straight too LOL I really appreciate you comment and thank you so much for enjoying the video you may not go for the stealth camping as much but that's why the channel is random Adventures there's lots of content everything from gold panning to hiking the overlooks to just Hammock Camping in the woods I've got a Thanksgiving one coming up that I just finished two nights ago where I cook a Thanksgiving dinner inside of a hot tent on a hot tent stove. Take care of my friend
Watch out for the formaldehyde off gas from the OSB plywood glue and resins. Great adventure!
That is true Bob I didn't think of that
Youse a vibe, pops!
I really appreciate you watching
My tinglers tickled
LOL I'm glad you enjoyed it
Tony moves into new house ,they turn down his mortgage so he has to move out the next day
Yeah it's a good thing I didn't get a couch and all of that
Many times people will pull into such an area to take a "leak" and leave!
There was a lot of weekend going on LOL
Here we go!
Yes Dennis here we go
can't wait to see the next one
The one next Thursday on Thanksgiving day will be a hammock hot tent cooking Thanksgiving dinner LOL
Excellent timing and had a lot of fun watching thanks.
Perfect I am so glad you enjoyed it
Great stealth camp tony
Thank you so much brother
Amazing UA-cam videos 👍😎
Thank you so much brother
@@randomadventures2.0 your welcome and be safe out there and travel
I got an old 8x10 in my back yard. Can't tell you how many times I thought about "camping" in it haha.
Kevin I tell you what you got to do it at least once right?!
Well done, Tony! I was on pins and needles until you got out of there!
I was on pins and needles myself and I did have coffee planned in the morning but I didn't want to stay any longer than I had to and it's a good thing that none of my pins and needles popped my blow up mattress LOL
Outdoor Unsupervised did this a while back at a Home Depot, then again at a Lowes. Man these channels just keep poppin up.
Yes multiple people have mentioned that I'm going to definitely be checking that out
Now I can watch both you an Steve to chill an unwind after a long day or week, subbed man 💯
Hey thanks for coming along and welcome to the 2.0 family I hope you enjoy our adventures and I look forward to seeing you in the comments on some of the over videos take care of my friend and thank you again
Great video Tony. I’d be a nervous wreck camping like that. Glad it worked out for you. See you on the next one.
I didn't show it but I wasn't nervous wreck all night
I had to sub, once you mentioned Steve ❤ love from NZ
Why thank you so much and welcome to the 2.0 family much love from Pennsylvania looking forward to you enjoying more of these random Adventures
What's adventure without a little risk. Great Video 👍
I know right I think this one was the most planned out and recond location I've done to date
You said 11 and 15 and I wondered hmmm , looked it up and yup your in Pa like me ! Howdy neighbor!!! Nescopeck here brother ! About a third the way through now ..
Okay yes neighbor I did one much closer to you when I did the 8081 interstate. It's always fun hearing from Neighbors who know the area
Looks like you had a good time. Enjoyable for your viewers !!!
It was a lot of planning and a lot of Recon and once I got there I did settle down a little bit but it was a very nerve-racking camp but it's done and on to the next adventure
Awesome lol you have gained a subscriber sir!
That's so awesome and welcome to the 2.0 family glad to have you along
Awesome video Tony! You find the craziest places bro👍🏼
Thank you lb
I saw the Title to this Video, and had to watch it.. I lived in one of these Sheds, several times, when I was. Struggling.. I called it The. Home Depot inn.. Home Depot, and these sheds. Saved my. Youth.. One. Way, for Extra Security..is to find a piece of. Wire, and. Wrap it around the inside of. Door..it makes a. Good. Lock..
Hey my friend thank you so much for sharing that with me and praise the Lord that he watched over you during that time. So glad to hear you are doing better many blessings and again thank you so much for sharing with me your adventures and struggles God bless you my friend
I worked at a store similar to Home Depot and our sheds were unlocked. I used to wonder if the sheds would
be good as a shelter in a pinch. Thanks for showing it can be done
I always get a kick out of the outer bag of your MREs as Beef Stew is also in French for some reason as was the last one you had
The Canadian version is IMP..Individual Meal Pack. Steve's was a really old expired package. It’s probably a good thing it didn’t heat up
Not a very relaxing night when you hear gravel crunching..hope you had a good nap when you got home
Take care until the next video 🇨🇦❤️
Say yes I m p is the Canadian version thanks for reminding me I couldn't think of it when I was filming and I didn't realize it was written in French as well. Yes probably a good idea he didn't need it thank you so much for watching and supporting the channel
Wow, that was a sneaky stealth camp! Loved that one and well done for getting through it. How great that Steve watched and commented, given you'd dedicated it to him - love that for you! Alright, alright, alrighty! 🙂
It's amazing how much planning went into this one Recon for multiple months and thinking of all the different situations that could go awry. I am very grateful that Steve got to watch it and that he also commented that was a huge blessing looking forward to one day meeting him in person
The more stealth you try to be the more suspicious you look.
Very true
Great video Tony!
Thank you buddy I appreciate that
Let's call it the Helltin Inn Sheds
That sounds pretty cool I like that one
Love camping with Steve. Living ledgen.
Yes definitely a living legend
New subscribed. Just stumbled across channel and liked what I saw!
Well I am so glad you stumbled across the channel and subbed greatly appreciated and welcome to the 2.0 family
This was a fun one. I was nervous for you 😂. I always enjoy your content. Keep it coming Tony! 😊
This was a very fun one but like you said nervous you were nervous for me and I was nervous for me as well take care thank you so much for watching
Cold sour skittles is the best way to eat them!
Yes I was thinking sticking them in the freezer at home but I don't think I would get them to the freezer in time before I eat them I also like them very very hot might try sticking them in the microwave for a couple seconds to see what that would do as well.
Great video Tony! Them MREs are pretty good!
So far the ones that I've had I'm pretty impressed
Another great video can’t wait until the next one
Thank you boots greatly appreciate you brother
Camping at "The Chill-ton Shack". Great video! 👍🇺🇸😎
I like that one
Nice stay at the RA Inn. That sucks about your ending music. Something will come up and stick I'm sure. God Bless you Tony. 👍🙂🙏
Ra in I like it and good news I was able to track down my old music where I wasn't talking over it and got it saved God bless you too my friend
@@randomadventures2.0 good news. That music just fits. It's you 👍👍👍🙏
worried about trying to get in then proceeds to be loud as shit lmao!
I'm just so engrossed in the filming once I get started but it seemed a lot louder because I had the mic close on my shirt LOL
@@randomadventures2.0 had me laughing awesome video my dude!
I was just waiting for someone to walk in on ya Tony. 😃 Good job.
You are me both Joey but I did get some sleep which is good
dont know why this was in my suggestions but well done buddy you earned a new sub great video
Must have been divine intervention LOL or UA-cam but I'm glad they shared my video with you and that you enjoyed it enough to hit the Subscribe button really glad to have you a part of the 2.0 family and I look forward to you catching up on some of the past Adventures check out the Dollar General one that I did a week ago. I come out with videos every Thursday that are camping related the one for Thanksgiving is I cook a Thanksgiving dinner in a winter hot tent on a hot tent stove. Look forward to you coming along
Great video Tony but I was really nervous for you. 😊
Thank you very much and you and me both were nervous for me LOL
Yea that’s good, I’m gonna have to do a shed stealth camp now sometime. 👍
Absolutely Joey
Great video! I've always been curious about sleeping in a shed as a stealth camp. Will I ever do it? No, lol. But I like how you were respectful and left no trace. New like and sub from me.
That was the most nervous I was ever camping and believe it or not I just did it last night LOL
To add, I spent my first nights in my shed to cabin just about like that. No insulation, it was cold, it rained , just camp gear, had a my buddy heater. Now its comfortable, have a fireplace, A/C , thermal floor heating, full plumbing, hot water heater, shower, toilet. kitchen, queen size bed, full electricity, I remember my first few nights though.
Well I can definitely relate to how you felt the first couple of nights but it sounds like you have it really set up now great job
@@randomadventures2.0 I hear about these folks on YT, they act as if its easy, like rainbows and unicorns their first days. I like to watch folks content, but keep it real, the first few nights, days, your mind is reeling about the place, making a shed to cabin, because it has nothing in it, you have to get a formula of your lifestyle, I seen a lot attempt it and fail
Ya gotta do the backpack move with traffic like that while it’s flowing. They’re not paying attention. An even if they were. There only seeing such a tiny fraction of time. They would t have a clue. When their sitting still is when people would pay attention.
You are right and the backpack in front of me with the crab walk was probably not needed but it was fun. And a lot of times nowadays when traffic is stopped people are looking at their phones LOL
the mre fill the water add the food then seal bag and hold the mre all the way on its side for 1 sec. flip and do other side. that will get the water on the heating pack . then lean at 20 deg. if they are old yes they dont work well . plus a pinch of salt to add to the heating element after the water etc only heard that works better
That is awesome brother thank you so much the print was a little small for me to see and plus someone in the dark but it didn't look like I was supposed to put it flat and flip it but I wasn't sure at what point now I know and maybe that's what I could use that little salt packet for. I will definitely give that a whirl on the next one I still have nine left
just say kinda like a small shake it just get the water to get all of the heating element on it and lay it down 20 deg heating element on the bottom anyway stay safe@@randomadventures2.0
Great video and hopefully I'll meet you both someday. BTW. I love Skittles. LOL 🤣
Yes Rick Lord willing we will get a chance to meet and aren't Skittles awesome
@@randomadventures2.0. It will happen. Like I said you ever in Tennessee or I will in a few months I might come up that way but we will make it happen peace to you my friend and God bless Tony

Tell her that is too funny
I'll tell you Steve Wallis hey Steve
Steve is amazing
Call it the Green House Inn.
That's a good one don't forget to bring your own heat
Pretty Kool how you gave Steve props 🥠...Gudcamping tho🎉
Well definitely Steve is an awesome guy and well deserving of any props. Steve had inspired me for this video and I am glad that I finally got it checked off my bucket list not sure I will do another one in a shed. Glad you enjoyed it hopefully you will enjoy some of the other content on the channel take care have a blessed week
Best stealth yet. ❤
Thank you so much brother

That's a great name I like that one
My dream home!
It even had built-in bunk beds LOL
You looked cosy in there 😊
It was a nice little bunk bed but very nervous all night
Very good Stealth Tony.
I think the first shed Stealth I’ve seen was Brandon on Outdoors Unsupervised. Since then I’ve seen a couple others do it.
Glad your MRE heater worked.
Hey Bob yes I'll have to look his up I don't think I've seen it
Man u got my sub. Just because u also enjoy steve. Cheers
Why thank you very much my friend and we definitely have something in common we both like Steve! Welcome to the 2.0 family you got a lot of videos to catch up on LOL

At the end when he said he was going to get his car, he opened the door and walked out but his car was parked right there, a very short walk.
Good eye David I had already walked to get the car and when I came back I filmed that part because I didn't want to leave my camera rolling while I walked the 300 yards over to the Chipotle parking lot to get my car I was worried my tripod and camera will get stolen while I was gone so I filmed the exit portion of the video once I got back
Heyy Tony awesome, both you and Steve takes some chances ,but I love your videos stay safe
Thank you so much Sonya I really appreciate that
Wow, Tony, I didn't think you would get away with this stealth camping, but you did. Great video as always.
I think the day that I chose of the week after doing several months of Recon of the area and that being the only day I think I could have pulled it off and look at that perfect
Can't believe you did this, great video 😂
Thank you so much Mr Ed and thank you also for the buy me a coffees that you sent
I know exactly where you were at. I live 65 miles south of that power plant.
Okay so you're very close that is a pretty iconic spot used to be Coal Fired until they changed it and ran Natural Gas
never watched your channel but i knew where you were by the turkey hill
Good eye sounds like you know the area thanks for watching hope this isn't the only video you ever watch looking forward to hearing more comments on some of the other areas as well
This is one of your easiest videos yet.You only need covers for the windows and your golden.
Yes a structure a roof over my head lots of fun but very stressful
I would have used th one with the door on the side between both buildings
The one with the door on the side did not have a place for me to cook or sleep on this is the only one with a shelf on the inside. But it worked out good because there was no window on the front. But if I was going to use it caught I would have definitely gone for the one with the door on the side
Love Steve’s videos. Very cool video. I think I know where this is when you said 11-15.
Yes Steve's videos are awesome and you know the area sounds like
@@randomadventures2.0 yep, pass through there every year going camping
Sheddington inn
Hey that's a good one I like that
I don't know how you think and that's fine but here's something that I do just in case cuz I haven't watched all this video yet always wash and reuse those spoons from the MREs they are stronger you could say and any disposable plastic spoon I've so I always keep them.
Yes anytime I come across there spoons definitely better than traditional in fact I have one on the back edge of my car used it today to eat some tuna fish and a burrito that I made out of the back of the car while I was on the road scouting out new locations. Great advice brother
As someone deathly afraid of spiders and especially the nasty ones this makes my skin crawl thinking about it!
Yeah I took a good look around one of them had a wasp nest in it a couple of weeks ago before it turned real cold
I would have expected cameras on that lot
Yeah part of scoping the location out I didn't see any I was surprised
Tony , you should have enjoyed the shed. A lot more comfortable than sleeping outside. That little buddy heater was a lifesaver. I enjoyed your video very much. Stay warm and safe. Your Buddy Jake McClellan The Oregon Boy 👦
Thank you Jake this one was different it was cool to be in there but I was so on edge waiting for somebody to open the door I think I was more comfortable in the woods
That was a really risky stealth camp!! Wow I would be so nervous dont know how you did that and got the courage. 😃❤ So many people doing U-turns Gees! You should call this Tony's Hilton. Steve gives it the 2.0 approval!!!
Yes wasn't that so cool that Steve gave it the 2.0 approval and yes that was the most nervous I was ever at a camp sorry I'm just getting back to the comments I was out camping and in an area that I had no reception take care of Dixie cup
I'm glad you mentioned that because I have a couple cases of these stashed away and so far in over 50% of those of those MREs the heating elements do not work. So if you continue to use those for any videos please you some kind of backup or do what I did and just eat it cold.
Hey my friend yes you are correct always good to have a backup source of heat I did have my cook stove just in case
Great video. Definitely one for the books. Looking forward to the next.
Thank you Jeff yes definitely this one is checked off for the books
Cracking up watching you eat that dry food😂
And what is really funny about that is it was drier than I let on LOL
I like your videos, but as a business owner this is my nightmare. You roll off that bunk, you sue, and I'm liable for your injuries because my sheds were "accessible"?
Yes I understand
Those things aren't for oxygen my friend they are made to keep a certain percentage level of moisture I only know cause we use them to keep old hippy spinach at proper moisture
Oh oh I always wondered about that I thought it was to keep the oxygen out but that makes sense
Hey Tony !! I am new to watching your videos. I find them to be really great. I heard your intro music and thought , hmmm, what song does that remind me of ? Then it hit me...
The song by Tesla
What You Give
Thanks for your great intro music that reminded me of another good song. All the best. Nick from CT
🌲🌲😎🔥🌲🌲🏁
Yes the intro music I'll have to look that one up it was in my power director where I edit everything on my phone and it was titled from east to west I was able to salvage the intro from an older video however I always talk over the ending video and that one I may have to piece together but I do have a few subscribers working on getting me something like a Jason Bourne exit type sound hopefully they can get something made
Next time bring some large black contractor garbage bags to cover up the windows so no one can see in and they won't be able to see your light.
Yes that would have worked out great I didn't want to use any thumb tacks or anything like that so I kept my light to a minimal and the angle was I think somewhat acceptable because of all the car lights and most people don't look around but that's a great thought I actually didn't think of the black contractor bags that would have been perfect though
Tony I like beef stew , have had mres before but goes against mama 's cooking to put hot sauce in it😢.😊.
Yeah the beef stew is pretty good and going against mama is never a good thing. But I love putting hot sauce on everything except ice cream you know I haven't tried that one yet LOL
Hobo Hilton 😊
That's definitely a good one
