I've polished a few things in my life. He makes it look easy, but it's not. Just the right amount of pressure, the right wheel, the right technique takes a lot of practice to get it looking factory. For him it's probably boring. But, I bet he gets a lot of satisfaction making something look new again. Cool video
Great video - thanks for sharing! One funny thing learnt here is how quickly a pro polisher can do the job - 20 mins! Grey market dealers would have you think that this process takes 3 weeks, and can only be done by elves that live in caves in Switzerland, given the fuss that they make over a few marks on a bracelet or case when you look to trade in a watch - again, thanks for sharing!
I actually work in the industry and it doesn’t happen overnight. There’s a queue, just because you give a watch doesn’t mean it can be done the next day. There might be 50 to 100 watches ahead of your watch so it may take 2 to 3 weeks for you to get your watch back. Don’t forget there’s also shipping time too.
I'm really pleased to see your perfect work there are a lot of people destroying watches by bad polishing. I'm from Switzerland, but I would give you my Rolex for a polish 😊
Great video. Glad to see the case being taken apart, movement out etc. Seen polishes being done without doing this. No way you can polish properly like that.
Nice job. I personally would not polish, but that's me. I wear my watches. For those commenting on the pressure testing, Miguel is not servicing the watch, he is merely polishing it. It is a USED watch and there is no evidence the watch was water pressure ready before he started the work on it. Waterproofness technically is only assured for 3-5 years after service. Thats why Rolex recommends service every 5 years. So, it's not his job to make it water resistant. That would entail new seals/gaskets and such. It's Not what he is doing.
From the moment he applied pressure to the buffer I quickly realized he knew the watch was fake. Usually, an expert like the technician will do a case analysis and the weight of the Rolex will set the tone. Slow cleaning is a indicator that the watch is real.
Interesting video and good questions. Please stop interjecting a “ya ya ya ya” or “sure sure sure”. Let the fella finish his sentence. Sounds like you oh are hurrying his answer.
Where watches become “brand new, unpolished”
Not from Phil, but I was recently sold an ‘unworn’ watch which I later discovered was in fact polished (badly too, may I add)
@@mattdrinkwater2900 yeah, i think a lot of dealers do that… hope you managed to sort it out!

@@haromaster6086 I’m referring to elapsed time to do the job - not wait time to get it done 🤪
This is what the big makers should be showing us the process from manufacturing to full repair and cleaning
Very interesting to observe the process ! Thank you Phil and Miguel for allowing everyone to see.
I went there today. Great quality work and super prices too at the Watch Polishing Centre (WPC).
I was on the same course at Cartier with Miguel. Great guy.
Didn’t test water resistance?? FYI I would not go in the water post that clean.

Great to see this! Makes me wonder why a Rolex polish takes so long and costs so much!
Because they do it properly
Backlog. Imagine most of the 1.2 million watches from 5 years or so ago starting flooding back to Rolex for a service.
When they polish the strap does it take off the sharp edges?
Only if they don’t know what there doing 🤦🏻♂️
Great video. Glad to see the case being taken apart, movement out etc. Seen polishes being done without doing this. No way you can polish properly like that.
Looks like a great job when it was finished, does it get pressure tested after being opened?
Any reputable polisher will pressure test your watch after refurb/polish
Awesome video! Great to see how a watch is properly polished by a pro.
Looks relaxing to have as a job, nobody messing with you all day
What grit is that belt sanding at 9:10?
Love this. Glad to see the comments positive.
What’s the name of the company doing this in Hatton Gardens?
Polishing, like sanding woodworking projects are an exercise in patience
Proper skill, like new 👌
Great work 🔥👌🏻 is Miguel Portuguese?
Great video! You've asked terrific questions too.
That's true craftsmanship!
How do you know..... Never saw it close enough to see the final finish?

You sure the case was completely dry when reassembled?
What an amazing bloke and his names Miguel... like San Miguel 🍺 what a star definitely going pay him visit. 👏 👍👍
It’s not just tape. It’s heat resistant tape.
How much?

So nice would like to see this process on a daydate in yellow or rose gold
All I want is my spring bar scratches removed. Can I do it myself? If so how and with what?
Just get it valeted or light polish
LOL
What's the price for a polish like this?
£100-£200 approximately
@@Liztrussloverno dude. 75-100.
Getting the Pepsi ready for the discontinuation.
He seems like a very nice man. Ged
Great Video!
How much per ?
When polished correctly it's almost imperceptible. That's the key. Taking it to someone like this that knows what they are doing
Nice video, interesting proces, amazing results.
Where is Miguel located
Where is he located
What's the cost?
Cost is decrease in the watch value of about 10% (since the polished watches are in far less demand later on) + a few hundred bucks for a job.
Wow amazing he’s definitely good at this 👍
Great video!
Reassembling wearing the same gloves that were worn to polish?
Brilliant video 🤗
Great video. Very educational. Much appreciated. Has Rolex fixed the Pepsi Bezel issue?
Not yet apparently
I work as a polisher for Rolex. But it's not exactly the same polishes. You do it very quickly. But we work on another method.
Great job and great video thank you.
Phil are you going for the 70's German porn star look?
very interesting. a real professional , great job . ~. JDS/CT
Didnt know Nacho Varga polishes watches

He's an artisan.
Is it just me or does he drop the movement at 8:05?? Quick cut away
Sure did, good catch! (By you, not sure if he caught it or not!)
Not for me am afraid, watch with marks tells stories just my opinion.

That watch just lost 10% of it's value + the cost you paid for the job.
"It looks easy" it does not look easy.
Super cool, always wanted to see how it was done
Good Lord! In a down market you actually decrease the value of that watch by polishing. Geez
many people never sell and what a crisp, new look.
I would not trust this guy, using same gloves to polish and reassemble the watch and then no waterproof test ? WFT !!??
Bro told you it takes 15 minutes to polish a watch, and you ask him if he does a 100 watches in a work day?
Where watches go to become unworn...
at 8:04 this guy dropped or almost dropped watch.
15mins I dont think so😅
That's just a regular machine. It's not a specialize machinery.
I don’t want this touching my watches. FMD.
In comes a watch out goes a bar of soap with all the edges gone.
Stop asking so many questions, you talked thru the whole damm video

I am really tired of hearing about the Rolex Pepsi. Can't you Rolex reviewers EVER talk about another model?
