I can still remember driving over the Blue Ridge listening to Blue Ridge Mountains for the first time. They've just gotten better and better over the years.

I remember sitting on an airplane at Narita airport in 2008 sad to be ending a holiday in Japan while checking out the audio available. Blue Ridge Mountains by a band called Fleet Foxes looked interesting. It's still my favorite song of theirs.
Great song, but i can honestly say ive never felt such deep passion and emotion from listening to a song until i listened to helplessness blues.
Weirdly enough for me it was listening to Blue Ridge Mountains while playing Versus mode in Left 4 Dead on Xbox Live. That and using that whole album as a soundtrack while reading _Blankets,_ which I found in my high school library.

What she goes through in her head on a daily basis; walls she's built; the difficulty she has trusting others; her struggle to accept my love and affection. We're in a really good place now, but it's taken real patience and understanding

@@vnkman4391 it’s a horror mystery that has a hint supernatural. Missing person cold case and present day case intertwine. But also kind of an allegory of how trauma effects us. But I imagine one of the main characters feeling this way in regards to the song :)

A song about the difficulties of letting someone in after being hurt before. And the voices(other than RP's) that you hear? The voices of 400-500 different strangers from Instagram that he solicited to sing those lines. He wrote this song about difficulties trusting anyone, then defiantly trusted his fans to sing the chorus with him. Trusted that it would sound good. And oh boy, does it sound good. Then you think about how, as Robin put it, "It made sense for a song about trust to have the verse function like a chorus and the chorus like a bridge; the whole thing is slightly upside down."
Easily the best song of 2020. Just... wow.
