My girlfriend suffers anxiety and depression, and this song really helped me understand her better. What she goes through in her head on a daily basis; walls she's built; the difficulty she has trusting others; her struggle to accept my love and affection. We're in a really good place now, but it's taken real patience and understanding

I can still remember driving over the Blue Ridge listening to Blue Ridge Mountains for the first time. They've just gotten better and better over the years.
I remember sitting on an airplane at Narita airport in 2008 sad to be ending a holiday in Japan while checking out the audio available. Blue Ridge Mountains by a band called Fleet Foxes looked interesting. It's still my favorite song of theirs.
Weirdly enough for me it was listening to Blue Ridge Mountains while playing Versus mode in Left 4 Dead on Xbox Live. That and using that whole album as a soundtrack while reading _Blankets,_ which I found in my high school library.
Aww! Right on!!My girl was a baby when Helplessness Blues came out. She still loves FF. She used to dance/ twirl to Grown Ocean when she was your daughters age. Introduce them to good music young!
There's something so captivating about her. She's beautiful but it's in a weird way... the man is an incredible dancer too, but he's just kind of classically handsome
To me, this song and video are vivid portraits of living with and recovering from PTSD following domestic abuse. May all find healing, may all be well.

Do you ever feel like something was released just when you need it? Like somebody had made a chord like that, had expressed a concept or emotion or told a story that somehow helped you create the peace you need to cope with the whatever-it-is that's been trying to get to you despite anything you do, but you just couldn't get it because it felt too far, just a little out of touch? Even as much you know that peace is fragile. Thank you. Oh, I love folk. As much as I feel like he's an uncle I need to hang onto every word, Bob Dylan feels well-worn sometimes. I also wasn't there, though Bob and company have always been there for me. I think my mind needs a day off to read poetry all night. We love to do that.
