I am 60 years old and I was listening to alternative rock when it was called new wave . I still love so many of these younger artists . "Sunblind " , moves me . It is nice to know that indie and Alt rock is still in good hands with musicians like "Fleet Foxes " .
This album is totally one of the highlights of this year. everytime I go out on my bike I put this album loudly on my speaker (best therapy ever) thanks for that!
@@jaguarhotrod1852 yes I've been listening to it quite a lot but not too often so I can appreciate it always like the first time. I really like all what FF has done so far.
I remember years back how Robin dropped out of life because of the struggles of dealing with fame. Its an absolute joy to see him centred and making an album like this even during such a difficult time. I dont know if the child in this is your daughter, if it is it would explain a lot. Happy for you , and thankful for what you have given us.
This song is so warm and carefree, it just makes me really happy. Once the pandemic is over, I wanna go on a long road trip and play this song on repeat
I also gotta be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of this album at first. Most FF albums are growers for me, but this one was taking especially long. It only started getting cold here in California within the last two weeks, and I decided to give Shore another chance. And now, I found myself completely immersed. I think my summer self just wasn't ready for this album yet, it really encapsulates Fall and Winter for me.
I keep hearing Americans say that this is an amazing fall album. Where I am in the world it came out during spring and was so fitting and appropriate for that season and it’s still sounds amazing as I move into summer. And I can’t imagine this not sounding amazing with a nice cup of soup with a blanket on a winters day. I think this is an album for all seasons!
From Facebook - "Happy to share a video today for Sunblind that was filmed by Sean Pecknold during the recording process in upstate NY, Paris and Los Angeles and also features footage captured by Kersti Jan Werdal. I wanted to make a song that celebrated my heroes in an explicit way - people who have passed and who I want to honor in the music. That was a big focus of mine, helping them stay alive through these memories. Music is this weird invisible form of immortality for these people, and I wanted to do it in a joyous way and reframe some of the sorrow of loss into a kind of celebration. Big thank you as well to Beatriz Artola as always. 🙏"
In 2021, post covid-19 gather your friends, family, neighbors and sing this song. Remember those gone, still here and the lives to come...thank you ff.
*"For Richard Swift. For John and Bill. For every gift lifted far before its will. Judee and Smith. For Berman too. I’ve met the myth hanging heavy over you."*
Every Fleet Foxes video created by Sean Pecknold is an absolute delight but, since the very beginning, nothing has brought me more joy than a live, behind-the-music style video such as this 😊 . Beautiful visuals for an incredible album. Bravo, and well done Sean! Bravo, and thank you Robin 🙏🏻
Idk ;) The one for Shrine/Argument has traumatised me for ever. I watch it once and was almost sick afterwards. Never made it past the first 15 seconds since. He’s a bad bad man.
"And in your rarified air I feel sunblind, I'm looking up at you there high in my mind, only way that I made for a long time, but I'm loud and alive singing you all night"...May your sweet soul rest in peace, Mom ❤️
A long time from now, this song is gonna remind me of the time I sold everything I owned, and moved half across the country in my car. This album got me most of the way there, this song particularly.
Wading in high waist water always makes me want to tear up and is just the most amazing intro to a beautiful album. The transition to sun blind is just one of the most beautiful transitions I’ve ever listened to. 🤍 Four years today ❤
I wasn't sure how I felt about such a huge mood shift when this came out - the album (+ especially Sunblind) is overwhelmingly positive and I think I was holding out for the melancholic broodiness I adored from Crack-Up. But recently, I'm so thankful to say, that has completely lifted. This album fucking rocks. And the positivity turns out to be EXACTLY what I needed. It's Robin's familiar gorgeous sound making me so immensely happy. How could I have ever doubted him?
Feelings are mutual. I was not ready for how uplifting this album would be even though I knew it would be the best medicine for this year. It definitely aided in some mental recovery~
"I'm looking up at you there high in my mind, Only way that I've made it for a long time, But I'm loud and alive singing you all night" That line is perfect
Such an honest and fun homage to the inspirations Robin draws on. What a lovely and yet heavy way to honor the greats that give us all more reason to keep going. Robin has long been an inspiration to me like the folks he talks about in this song are for him.
Fleet Foxes is the curent imbodimant of 1960s folk music and continues to carry the torch. They are pure talent and a rare breed of musicians who have yet to make a bad album. Shore is as great as anything they've ever done. Musical mastery at its finest.
I was driving on the highway yesterday after a long day at work, and I played this song on repeat, every time being hit by a wave of absolute bliss I hadn't felt in a long time.
Mexican in love with Fleet Foxes, this music gets me chilled and take me back to Seattle Washington (band is native from there), and your music gets me in that place, the pine smell, and all those little cafes spread around town and staring at the ocean; thanks Fleet Foxes to keep on doing all this great magic with your music, I hope to see you soon in Seattle 😎✌️
One my favorite tracks on this album. I actually love the whole album. Sunblind makes me miss all my friends back home. Thanks for this song & video....
One of his best songs ever
I'm new to Fleet Foxes and thought it was a group, but it's a solo artist?

Shore is an exceptional album... it feels like Pecknold's Pet Sounds. A career high and a unique piece of musical Art.
