Breadbasket actually refers to the ball into the receivers hand placement, the ball is the “bread” the receivers hands are the “basket” imagine throwing a loaf of bread across a room and perfectly wedging it in a perfectly sized basket on the other side
Squib kicks are also used late in the game when winning in order for the clock to run during the kickoff. If a kicker does a normal kick the player will most likely let it be a touchback in order for no time to come off the clock on the kickoff. Hopefully that explanation makes sense
Ooooooooohhhhhh okay I see!! That does make sense. So the clock doesn’t start running until after the kick starts being returned? I don’t think I realized that, so thank you!!
Pretty spot on. I understood what you were trying to say abt strong/ weak side. Usually strong side for offense is in 12 personnel( 1 RB 2 TE/FB), and the defense will load that side to make it their strong side. Also on defense , strong side could be just to the field depending on what hash. Nice job though!
I’m a bit late but the “exact” definition of the pocket is the area inside the two offensive tackles when the ball is snapped -it’s also called the tackle box although it’s usually only called that when talking about intentional grounding
Another/simple way to look at strong side~ consider the center and qb as the middle of the offense. That leaves 9 more offensive players. Whatever side of the center/qb has more players is considered the strong side
The strong side is generally, on offense and defense, the side of the field which is viewed as advantageous based on the opponents formation. Indicators of which side is strong are numbers of players such as receivers, tight ends on either side, as well as the wide side on the field. These allow an offense or defense to make pre snap reads and have an idea of what is coming at them before the snap, hope this helps I know this video is older
I’m still in Middle School but I play football for my school and strong and weak side is where if the Tight End is on one side then that’s the strong side if there are no tight ends or one on each side the you go off the running back same thing then the receivers and if they are even then it’s the widest side of the field
You have your stuff down pretty well! To clarify, strong side and weak side refer to the way the offense is lined up, not the defense. The strong side of an offensive formation is the side which has the most extra blockers. Usually this is whatever side of the formation the TE is lined up on. Typically this is the side of the formation that your Strong Side DE (SDE) and Strong Side LB (Sam LB) will line up on to become the strong side of your defense. I think tou are a little mixed up with the breadbasket terminology. Your breadbasket is your stomach area. You hear it most often when people are describing how a ball is handed off to a running back, "Stuff it right in his bread basket. A pass can hit you right in the bread basket and that means that it hits you in the stomach. Using the term breadbasket to describe an over the shoulder catch hitting a reciever perfectly in stride is a bit of a malapropism.
pls do a video about the cowboys and the eagles the night before last 🤣 ima cowboys fan & while I was watching the game I thought about stuff you would say lmao
