  • Here’s a quick look at one of our Lazyman Fatgirl 10 bow blinds with our camo/window black paint job. The blind is mounted on one of our base/platforms with 8ft 4x4’s and a stair case with railing.

How did you attach this to the platform? We just picked 2 of these up and they will be placed on 10 foot towers and it gets windy in Iowa so we want to make sure they stay connected. Thanks

I screwed right through the plywood subfloor (inside the blind) and into the treated wood platform and its crossmembers. Just used 3 1/2” deck screws.

@@uoutdoors thanks that was our thought too. Any issues to look out for since you’ve been using it? Windows door need for extra waterproofing?

@@richardanderson358 the design may have changed but on ours we caulked above the window frames, the drip edge above the door, and the main seam of the blind from the inside plus put the plastic covers over the seams from the outside. Seems to seal up pretty good.

Another question how big is the platform to have that small porch area?

@@richardanderson358 I don’t recall the dimensions exactly, I used to build a bunch of them to sell with the blinds. I used treated 2x6 for the frame and the crossmember by the door/porch. I used treated 2x4 on the other crossmembers. I wanted the blind to sit on top of the 2x6’s so I could screw into them from inside the blind to attach it so I made it a little narrower than the blind. Length was around 8’, again positioned the 2x6’s so they were under the blind. Deck was about 2’, used 6’ treated deck boards for the flooring on that. You will need to cut a notch in the 2x6 on each side where the blind seam is on the bottom, roughly 2x2” to accommodate it.
