We do not do rebuilds for other people, we are not a shop. However, if you are not comfortable doing a rebuild yourself, there is a great company called CVtech that will sell you a rebuilt engine for a fair price. They may need some lead time though. We have used them in the past. There are local deals around for them, we went the cheaper route and drove to Quebec to pick the engine up and not pay a mark up fee. I hope this helps you, so you can get back to riding!!
The way the engine piston is designed, the rings can only go in one way as there is a little pin where the ring gap goes . If you try to put the rings in any other way, they will not press into the piston enough to be installed.
Planning to rebuild my 800R. Why not put in oil after you put the case together thatway it wont spill when tightening the bolts?
Nice that motor will fix on 2003 summit 800
2003 is a similar engine, but I don’t know if it has different torque specs
Taking on any rebuild projects just like this? How far from Sarnia are you?

hey I recognize that garage 🤓🍻
Where’s the actual rebuild at.?
Are you concerned if the ring gap is facing the exhaust port or not??

Is this the same sled that locked up in your recent video?
Yes, but the expansion chamber cracked and it wasn’t noticed. Engine leaned out and ceased. We have since dropped a fresh engine in. Runs good now!
Use a wide Zip Tie to compress rings
I will keep that in mind for the future. The rings on sleds compress pretty easy though. Thank you
Get piston circlip insulation tool. BRP or SPI makes them. 1000 times easier
Thank you for that, I didn’t even know they existed!

That works as well and honestly, should have done it that way. If you are not taking the water pump out. Put oil in the center though
