Just installed these and had to take them off the upper control arms and put them in the correct position. The part I am talking about is the base piece that you press in the bottom of the control arm that holds the SPC ball joint in place. I know that you said that your suppose to line up the bottom piece in line with the "dot" on the upper control arm, but that isn't correct at all. I called SPC and Doug told me that the "dot" or manufacture marking is for Honda when the press the stock ball joint in the upper control arm. Then he said to just install them as you see fit. So I just installed the base press plate in straight and tested it with the ball joint in for proper movement and it has worked out a dream. All in all your video is great and a huge help, and I thank you for it as it is a good install video. Just wanted to let you guys know about this that want to install these SPC joints on your cars in the future.
Very helpful video... Thx man. Add'l tip: if ur doing it on a 92-95 Civic after you take off the rubber boot, the is a circle clip at the underside top you want to remove first (this clip is what keeps the ball joint from pushing out thru the top). This will make it alot easier, u may not even need C-clamp cuz it will come out. After you remove it, u "may" need to sand or shave the inner circle opening "a little" like 0.4 mil so that it doesn't bend anything while Camberkit going in but stil
convex is the term you were looking for describing the outward curved adapter. & the best way to remember which is which would be to remember that concave is like a "cave" & having a outward protruding bump on the noggin can be quite "vexing", lol!
cool video, do u know if camber kits for different car's lets say toyota's or nissan's are the same as this, do most camber kitz go on the upper control arm?? it looks simple to install, good video!
Hey man i have a question for you. I have a 98 acura 3.0 cl with the same ball joints and k-sport coilovers. However, whenever i drive over dips in the road my ball joint on the upper control arm hits my fender wall. do you know how to stop this or whats causing it?
You will first need to buy new shocks that allow you to lower the car. These are typically called coil overs. There are several brands out there. I have Megan Racing shocks. After 50,000 miles I still like them. Then after you lower the car I suggest putting the camber kits on. These make it so you DON'T have negative camber. If you want negative camber you just need to prepare to buy a new set of tires every year or so.
I asked Big-O Tires where they get the kit. They directed me to their wholesaler. I was able to get the kit 50% cheaper from the lowest priced kits on the internet.
@sweetlikeADAM i may be 15 and i may not own a car... but i do work on cars with my sister... yes my sister. and i did the same thing this guy did... i just finished working on a type-r dc2 honda integera and its cambers are insane anyway imma put up a video on how i did the cambers... were was i ohh ya why dont you put a video up on how to put cambers up the right way since ur the master at it cuz ur calling this diy mechanic a n00b i wanna watch the vid
@paddetail Nope. There is just enough clearance. I also have adjustable coilover shocks so I can adjust the height of my car. You will need to play around to find out how low your car can go yet still be functional.
Hey on the rotors did you have 4 bolts holding it in? An if so did you take them out? Cause on my car I have them and they machined my new rims to fit in the extra grooves and I need my tires rotated and don't wanna pay again to have them cut
I am installing a camber kit on my RSX type S and I will be doing the alignment myself at school, we have everything we need including lifts and the alignment software and everything. I have done a couple of them but this time will I be messing with the rear amber kit or is it just the two bolts that I am suppose to use with the little lobes on them?
hey man just a question.. what do i need if i want to have negative camber in the front wheels of my honda? i know u need a camber kit but which one? do i just need those ball joints? thanks
i have tein lowering sping on my accord and i have terrible front wear tire because the car is drop 1 inch and a quarter .do you think the front camber kit will solve the problem?
i have an 02 accord sedan on stock struts but with eibach lowering springs. my ride height went down 2 inches and im going through front tires like a mad man. every 2,000 miles theyre worn to threads on the inside. Ive read on forums just to adjust the toe but ive gotten a front end alignment and it still continues. im thinking this camber kit is just what I need.
I have a honda accord 03 coupe, It was in an accident and bought it without knowing bout that. I was told by Sears that i need a camber, but will the process be the same? and do i need to do anything else beside just installing that piece?
Good video, but since you already removed your strut, why didn't you just take your a_arm off? It would have just taken 2-3 minutes and would have made the pressing much easier. Just asking, works either way.
@MrChristurmental I got it from a direct buyer, the same place BigO Tires gets them from. I just asked them where the warehouse was that they get them from and then I went there. Instead of buying them for $115 from BigO I went direct.
I need a camber kit for a 07 Yaris according to the shop after alignment check; what does that mean? Any recommendation for a camber kit? Can I buy one than take it to a shop for them to install it? Thanks in advance.
I would see what the shop recommends, then buy them and bring it to the shop. Then you don't have to pay the premium for the shop buying the part. In my case, I found out the wholesaler where the shop gets their parts and bought them for a 40% discount.
chefigo Was the shop angry at you? How did you find out where they bought it from? I would assume that a shop would be resentful in telling you. I just bought some online for really cheap and either install them myself than get alignment at the shop. Thanks.
no, a camber kit corrects negative camber. If you have negative camber your tires are going to wear out very fast (like 20,000 miles). So if you are okay with paying $800 for new tires every year that is fine.
you could just buy the camber kit that includes the upper control arms and skip all of this extra work as all you do is switch out the upper control arms and your done.
decent video. you should of showed the actual steps. but its cool. why didnt you just take the upper control arm out? it would of been alot easier, especially if you took the strut assemblies out...
Now, it would have been easier to take the upper control arm off of the car and pressed the ball joint out on a vise instead of coming up with the pipe extention thing. Work smart not hard.
bunch of hella flush fanboys dont even know what you're talking about. no shit no ones wants positive camber, you want zero degrees of camber, maybe -0.5 degrees. theres no point in having a camber kit if you want negative camber because lowering the cars ride height gives you a ton of negative camber anyways. a camber kit is to restore camber back to factory specs. /rant
No, he just likes his car to be generally driveable. I'm guessing based on your choice of lexical discourse that you are probably not very well educated. Therefore I'd like to make the assertion that you probably are not especially well-to-do financially, and like to pretend you have wealth by making silly modifications that are far outside the mechanical design limitations of the car.

I appreciate you taking the time in creating this tutorial.
Very detailed and easy to understand. Good job on the video.
convex is the term you were looking for describing the outward curved adapter. & the best way to remember which is which would be to remember that concave is like a "cave" & having a outward protruding bump on the noggin can be quite "vexing", lol!
I can see that it wasn't ez for u doing it by yourself but it was a lot of useful info in this vid
I got mine on eBay FYI and great video! This really helped I'm doing my s2000 tomorrow thanks man!!

awsome attention to detail.. thanks for that! :)
Great Video, Need to install one of these

@slickrc i would assume its the same diameter, because your brake caliper needs to fit back on.
SHIT! this is just what I needed!!! THANKS!!!
BY THE WAY, GIVE US A REVIEW ON THOSE MEGAN RACING COILOVERS!!!!! was gonna buy some but hesitant.

Wowww..It's cool video!!

i saw u had drilled/slotted rotors. my question is, where they the same size(diameter) as stock? and what brand
nice video thanksfor sharing your isights and experience from your work.

i have tein lowering sping on my accord and i have terrible front wear tire because the car is drop 1 inch and a quarter .do you think the front camber kit will solve the problem?
@MrBane60 Yep, just four bolts, kept them in.
@player2516 I think it was around $80. I bought them from a wholesale distributor. They would be a lot more online.
nice video

It's a good idea.
So... where I can buy? My car SV4 94.
Please advise me like this. Tq
Good video, but since you already removed your strut, why didn't you just take your a_arm off? It would have just taken 2-3 minutes and would have made the pressing much easier. Just asking, works either way.
@trunkbreak3r It cost $958. That was for the front and back.
Do you need a wheel alignment after putting a camber kit on to put your wheel straight?
Its probably a good idea. Some places may charge more since the car is lower.
chefigo okay cool just wanted to make sure I should get it as soon as I’m done with the camber kit right?
@MrChristurmental I got it from a direct buyer, the same place BigO Tires gets them from. I just asked them where the warehouse was that they get them from and then I went there. Instead of buying them for $115 from BigO I went direct.
@DelSolRacer93 It is doing great! No more inner tire wear!
It's Called a Pickle Fork, usually the Term for the Ball joint separate tool.
Ask more if needed bud :P
umm one question do you have to have stretched tires to have negative camber ? thanks
1 cuestion, does the uper arm hits de body ?
Ball joint separator = "pickle fork" XD
So far they have been great. I have put about 25K miles on them now. You can adjust the ride on them too which is nice.
they are just the stock rotors. I used my friends tools to drill and slot them.
can you please tell me which wholesale distributor you bought it from??
How is this compared to an actual replacement arm? like the kits?
is there a torque specification for tightening that??
andy, what brand rotors thou? where did u get them?
My front wheels have negative camber do i want that bolt closest to the engine or towards the rim?
I got a set of ball joints their offset inch camper but don’t adjust, it’s like they turn in a the a arm
where did you buy it at?? i have a 99 accord, can you send me the link to buy it?
how do I order camber adjustment kit for front of 1997 Honda cry 4x4
can you put a camber kit on stock springs?
Yes. The camber kit is just changing the angle of the tire.
I need a camber kit for a 07 Yaris according to the shop after alignment check; what does that mean? Any recommendation for a camber kit? Can I buy one than take it to a shop for them to install it? Thanks in advance.

If I want a negative...do I need a camber kit?
1:24 its called a pickle fork. it has multiple uses.
next time if you try to take it off try using an impact driver on the bottom of the press it will chang it from 30min to like 2 mins
no, a camber kit corrects negative camber. If you have negative camber your tires are going to wear out very fast (like 20,000 miles). So if you are okay with paying $800 for new tires every year that is fine.
@MrLIFEISTOOSHORT I am not too sure. I think so.
and im wanting to install those on my lowered 87 accord, its a hatchback btw
"here on the other side of this car, cause im tired of making this video..."
lol
you could just buy the camber kit that includes the upper control arms and skip all of this extra work as all you do is switch out the upper control arms and your done.
where u get the camber kit?
Just regular low profile tires - which means they are expensive so I can't afford having them worn down prematurely do to negative camber.
nice work boots! lol they steel toes?
its easier if you take the upper control arm off
haha, i'm watching this cause i want MOAR NEGATIVE CAMBER
where u buy that bro?
From this website www.spcalignment.com/race
We call it a pickle fork ; )
I just got the camber kit. It includes the upper control arm..
how to adjust camber on 1992 240 volvo
decent video. you should of showed the actual steps. but its cool. why didnt you just take the upper control arm out? it would of been alot easier, especially if you took the strut assemblies out...
Will be automobile explode as a result of this?

IMPOSSIBLE U ROLLIN ON STEEL!
it's called a pickle fork
i had hella negative camber, i had a much easier time doing it too. all i did was not see a curb.
Now, it would have been easier to take the upper control arm off of the car and pressed the ball joint out on a vise instead of coming up with the pipe extention thing. Work smart not hard.
i want vip camber !
Use AirTools.. Much Easier and Faster XD

non-concave = Convex. lol thank me later buddy.
Jesus. $800? lol Better get at least 3 sets for that.
bunch of hella flush fanboys dont even know what you're talking about. no shit no ones wants positive camber, you want zero degrees of camber, maybe -0.5 degrees. theres no point in having a camber kit if you want negative camber because lowering the cars ride height gives you a ton of negative camber anyways. a camber kit is to restore camber back to factory specs.
