What do you think of the Amico public showing? Were you in the area to attend Boomers and check it out? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Hope you and Ian try this thing and see Tommy's reaction's when you walk in the door lmao 🤣
@@BullCraftMaxx That I'd love to see
An Amico event at a Boomers is the kind of branding I would expect from voicemail Tommy.
I mean...a console that is trying to live off the name of a console made 42 years ago at a place called "Boomers". That can't be a coincidence.
Will this sell to anybody that doesn't get the joke?
"I plugged it in and it didn't burn my house down! 9.5 out of 10!" 👍🏻
I haven't laughed this hard at a venue choice since Four Seasons Total Landscaping. Well done, Tommy.
The thing I love the most about my PS4 is that it works. It really got me off the fence about buying one. You should see the power button in action.
But what about couch co-op and millennial moms??
Couch co-op and millennial moms sounds like an adult film.
My PS5 also powers on, I like that. If it ain’t broke dont fix it Sony!
@@575forza Its an exclusive game coming soon to the Amico: After Dark Special Edition Console
@INXISIV I think I found your mom, she got lost after the amico event. She the lady having troubles finding all those switch games?
“September 10th, you know what tomorrow is! Amico event!”
-Tommy
They were shooting for "Can't be the worst september 11th event". Playing it safe.
Amici! Never forget!
They showed off the Amico at Boomers. That's like showing off Tik Tok at Zoomers.
Canceled my founders pre order, went out bought a switch with Mario kart and breath of the wild. Zero regrets.
My personal favourite response to the wall of text posted on the subreddit is 'Yeah, that's a totally normal thing to post.'
"Come to the hot front lawn of Boomers! Your local decrepit fuckin' mini golf place" had me crying.
Being blocked by Intellivision is like a badge of honor at this point. Have integrity? Get blocked. Question their ethics? Get blocked.
"Yes I am Harry T. Consumer and I love the Amico. Tommy looked very handsome and not at all insecure and sad at the event. Yes I am a real human person with thoughts and opinions."
The Amico will dominate the industry. Sony and Microsoft will BEG Tommy to put their games on it.
-Tommy's best friend
Smash JT?
@@juicyfruit6311 LOL. He said Tommy’s best friend not Tommy’s Lap Dog
The Amico is like a never-ending Fyre Festival.
"A few Amicos were on display..." So it was all of them that currently exist 🙃.
3 o 5 of them.
If "It does what it's supposed to" is the bar, then the Atari Jaguar, Phillips CD-i, Nokia N-Gage and the Virtual Boy were all successful consoles.
The R-Zone, too!
Mind you they all these consoles have something in common. They were way better than the Amico 😂. At least with the N Gauge you can play games like Tomb Raider, but also use it as a phone 📱. The only thing you can use the Amico for it toilet paper
Remember these consoles cost more than $300 or more back then. In today's money it'll cost you more than $800 if you count inflation today.
"A four hour event". Funny how they always limit these showings to four hours and yet they still have controllers that stop working due to the batteries allegedly running out. Either they're lying about the batteries and the controllers are just that crappy (so much for family game night if the batteries can't last the evening) OR the Intellivision crew is really incompetent forgetting to charge the controllers.
great point. Why are batteries dying in 4 hours? Why are controllers needing to be shaken and rebooted?
Yeah that's weird... because my joycons/pro controller can last 8 hours of breath of the wild and be almost dead.
This whole Amico podcast saga needs its own Blu-ray box set.
It needs its own Disney plus show
I love the new branding. "The Intellivision Amico; *It works!* " 😂
Amico, a playable console!
“ I put gas in my car and it didn’t kill me” 🤣🤣🤣
There's an interesting point in this that Pat brings up about investors posing as 'casuals' at these events. Is that not similar to what happened in Texas at that event? All of those videos of friends, family and investors doing reactions as if they were just randos? In one video, Retro Bro accidentily reveals that one of the women in the video was a Gamestop executive and Cyrus Martin tries to shoosh him.
Then the Crayola event has videos of 'unbiased UA-camrs' all wearing Amico shirts working the event, even doing manual labor in the background.
Let me know when there's a real event or a real kiosk set up somewhere. Every event so far has been basically a movie set.
A "Z" grade movie event
"It does what it's supposed to". That should be the Amico's new marketing slogan (replacing their old one "Do you have questions? Then the Amico is not for YOU!"). It's like the airline that used to have the slogan "We get you there" to which one stand-up comic remarked was honest in their contempt for their customers. "We get you there. So sit down and shut up!".
"It does what it's supposed to" should be the goal of everything I buy, I fail to see how this is a bad thing or insult.
"The Amico Intellivision: It Plays Games."
@@JFizDaWiz A product about to be released that doesn't do what it was made to do wouldn't be released. "It does what it's supposed to" is a REQUIREMENT for a product to be released (unless it's a scam). When that's the BEST you can say about a product, it is the literal definition of "damning with faint praise".
A while ago, one airline actually had a spoof airline whose slogan was “we’ll get you there”.
According to the Amico website, tour tickets are still available at the following venues:
- Wembley Stadium
- Shea Stadium
- The Circus Maximus

Those totally real reviews sounded totally real.
I’m glad you brought up the difference between the criticisms of the console: the technical vs the concept. Maybe the console IS finally working. I have doubts. But the most important issue is the other one you brought up: who is this console for? Even if everything works, it’s still going to be the console nobody wants.
According to Google, Intellivision originally sold 3 million units. That’s the START of the customer base, because let’s face it: no one who didn’t own one back in the 80s is going to buy the Amico now. And when you consider that most of those customers are either not into games any more or already own consoles that are doing the job just fine…who is going to buy this thing?
My main issue with the concept, other than it’s destined to become vaporeare, is that it positions itself as solving gaming problems that don’t exist. No entertainment platform that family members can enjoy equally? This pitch can only make sense if there was no Nintendo which exists to cater to everyone, or casual games like Jackbox that exist on multiple platforms. Their console is a “family” console but it’s not a compelling pitch with what already exists out there, especially not at $300 for 7 year-old smartphone tech.
How amazing would it have been if Ian was able to go to the event? I would have loved to hear his experience, being shouted at by tommy, thrown out just for showing up and calling him a "gaming racist"🤷🏻♂️
Would have been a great story
Ian & Pat, I just heard the standard Switch has a price drop in Europe, won't be long till the US does the same I bet. Amico may now be more expensive than the standard Switch.
My seventeen year old kid and I played some old Odyssey 2 games last night (Attack of the Timelord & KC Crazy Chase- come on, it's awesome!). It was a lot of fun and I was surprised he would even agree to play them. But here's the thing - it was about 20-30 minutes of entertainment total. These old games are not engaging. They are temporarily amusing. No reasonable adult should invest more than $50 or $60 on it. In fact, why doesn't Amico just sell those mobile-type games in the Nintendo Switch game store? They are clearly no better or worse than many of the thousands of cheap mobile games already in the marketplace. There's no justifying a console.
I love your sentiment. It was the first wave of games and we normally played them for short runs and switched it off to watch TV or go ride bikes, eat pizza, whatever. I don't remember making a lot of high scores, just having fun.
@LaserActiveGuy So let's think about this.
I make a console that can play LaserActive games.
Where exactly in this day and age is someone supposed to get LaserActive games in this day and age without fearing for the age of the media? Especially with the market being the absolute racket it is.
Now hypothetically I could ask everyone from Cyan to Sega if I could press their games onto a single compilation but then you'd have to relicence so many things...it'd quickly become a logistical nightmare.
@LaserActiveGuy No because the games are rare, expensive and no longer being made. There have been retro game compilations done for PS1 to modern systems featuring Atari and Intellivision games. No need for a new console!
I mean the guy did the sounds for color a dinosaur on NES ! Tommy has to be on the video game Mount Rushmore
Pat is literally unlocking life achievements with ease. He's triggered an actual C-E-O, slandered/defamed/libel by the CEO, and now (chef's kiss) got the entire company to get an official block. I swear I hope Pat is taking screenshots and printing these timeless classics out. Comedy gold, can't make it up. I suggested before that Pat should offer these hidden gems in his store, do it Pat! The fragility being displayed by Tommy and some of his communist minions is a sight to see.
my 90 year old grandpa came 7th in mario kart 8 deluxe online with help steering on against 11 people online- so dont tell me old people cant play "Mario kart" Tommy!
My fear is that It’s like a bunch of mini games that you will play a few times and that’s it. And I’m a fan and ordered 2 founders editions . Imagine that ! I cancelled one and will cancel the other if it doesn’t release this year which it won’t
LOL! Skip straight to the Goodwills & flea markets, Tommy!
I got a switch I didn’t even want it except for Zelda and I ended up buying a dozen games for it because it kick so much ass!
I would never fall for the Amico scam, not even the biggest shill will convince me, id rather support this channel than wasting my money on Tommy's lie
The jokes just write themselves. The amico at Boomers. They are just asking for a meme. Why wait until the last minute to announce an event? Pat is right this was nothing more to get investors 💰. Not to get the public hyped.
BTW Ian better be careful. Tommy may have an event close to him just to see if he would play the amico.
They have more than 11 million dollars in crowdfunded money, but they cannot produce a decent gaming kiosk? Even school science fair projects get more love than the Amico.
Yard sales use those same type of tables. So what does that say about the amico's presentation. The VCS had display kiosk at there events. GenX gamer was right, this is 100% unprofessional.
they don't want to have a kiosk or demo units at all because they know it will expose the smoke and mirrors of the Amico. There's been enough info leaked and revealed by enough people now that we know exactly why they've been so secretive and done these very controlled experiences with the system at staged live events.
The fact that people still go on about “lag” and slowdown boggles the mind. People paying attention realize that’s not an issue any more. The console has no real room to exist due to the Switch. If it even makes it that far.
This console has mo room to exists because of Soulja Boi, let alone the Switch
Want to see Ben heck take a raspberry pi and a couple old iPhones and make this POS himself!
The frustrating part is you know Tommy will be running victory laps when its released, claim the haters were wrong, tout the profits, and abandon the console leaving all the buyers with a dead console.
What if this is the plan? That after this Tommy is totally broke and he is going to try to sell himself as a retirement plan? But problem is that Tommy didn't realize that slavery was illegal? Would anyone still buy Tommy?
Yayyyyyyy!!!! The amico; the catastrophe that keeps on giving!
Insane, right? What a train wreck.
I’d be interested if it was like $60-$80
$40-$50 I think I would be interested for that price. I'd have to play it and try it out for $60-$80.
I'm surprised I didn't fall for the Amico and the Atari VCS. I watched so many videos about these that most people would think I am a main investor or something.
(For the record, I'm not. After you guys gave us the low down on the Retro VGS, I stayed away from all these crowdfunding video game campaigns and just buy the product in store.)
New venue announced: YMCA in downtown Akron. We will be demoing in the men's toilet ( not the main toilet ) near the dumpster pen. The urinals have been covered with official duvet covers & the whole room looks quality.
I hope Cornhole is ready.
@@poboxchristmas380 Don't bet on it.
@@liverush24 well, it they can't have cornhole ready for the toilet launch, they're going to catch shit for it.
@@poboxchristmas380 …something tells me “Cornhole” of one sort or another will be ready at the YMCA…basing this on The Village People’s song…nothing more than that.
I can get why people are blinded by nostalgia with the Intellivision now because I'm remembering the glory days of the New York Boomers that used to be a Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center.
The question this product has to answer is 'What problem does this solve?" If you want to play mobile games, play them on your phone or tablet, which does other things too. Want to play high graphic games? PC or other consoles. This device does not solve a problem in the market.
Family Friendly? You've got the Switch with a price cut. Go on, the parental controls ain't hard to set up. They even advertised it in their videos.
Portable gaming? Well, the Amico doesn't even have that.
My favorites are the "My kids tell me every day how they can't wait to play this with me- you're bringing family game time and families themselves back together!" comments that somehow come out from all of these demonstrations.
"It works." Well, that's a step in the right direction! Still don't have a reason to get it.
Leave Tommy alone ! Brittney spears guy.
Plants vs Astroturf, the next blockbuster title for the Amico
I thought the whole point of using a stupid disc shaped button was so it could spin, why use a literal circle for d-pad controls? The ONLY reason I would even play this system was to play Breakout with paddle/spinner controls. Why was Tommy so adamant about the dumb disc button, it's always been ass.
if their target audience is grandparents and small children as they say, then they have completely failed. 95% of the actual audience is 40+ year old hoarder UA-camrs.
And no kid or grandparent are hyped for Earthworm Jim, Toejam and Earl, or Cloudy Mountains. Only retro gamers.
@@ezg2000 meanwhile hoarder UA-camr's jaws are dropping at Finnigan Fox and their minds are turned to swiss cheese by Shark Shark and Care Bears.
I know mate. They are some weirdos following this thing with way too much eagerness. It’s like they worship this thing like a deity! Tried reasoning with them last night but they all called me a hater! It’s like they are some weird brainwashed cult!
With the way things are going, I expect to see Tommy someday on American Greed.
I cancelled my Amico pre-order and order 4 Soulja Boy portables.
So... it's mobile game console.
12:20 Unless you know about the complaints and accusations of lag/slow down in the past why would you ever bring that up as just some random? I don't play a PS/xbox/switch game and go "Wow! When I pushed the button there was no delay! Holy shit, this is awesome!"
Pure astroturf comments posted by Tommy.
The victory laps that Tommy and the remaining acolytes are taking over this "public showing" are really so sad. "Look! Each console was able to play a game or two with minimal rebooting and resyncing of controllers! We showed them! Break out the vegan champagne!' You'd think Tommy just won the Decathlon in Tokyo. Then there's the strawmen AtariAge threads with things like "Another Article about Chip Shortage (It's Real)". Uh, no one is saying there isn't a chip shortage. Heck, there were chip shortages before the pandemic (just ask Polymega), but it's not like there are NO chips available. And other consoles (large and small, established and first timers) have launched during the pandemic- chip shortages and all. And then there's the false narrative of "how sad that people are being harassed for liking (and investing) in the Amico". No one is being harassed for LIKING the Amico. But people who are liking and investing in it are being called on their antics (like Turbo "I'm going to smack you like a woman" Joe) or for pretending to be unbiased "man on the street" interviews when they have thousands of dollars at stake. And whenever Tommy is called on one of his lies, he will pout with "I guess I'm the only person in America not allowed to have an opinion. I see how it is" like he was an angsty tenth grader told by a teacher that he couldn't use himself as the topic of his "The Historical Leader I Admire Most" term paper.
Word is they can’t go forward with the Amico name due to a dispute with Amiga over it being too similar and might be switching to the backup name of Intellivision Prism……whole thing is a train wreck, but it’s still totally coming out this year guys.
lol YEARS of marketing flushed down the toilet. If true, that's a brutal blow. Pretty much anyone on the periphery of this thing, and not neck deep in the cult, is going to completely lose track. Any sort of brand recognition they've achieved is just gone. Gotta reinform any casuals from scratch.
@@devilmikey00 What marketing? Tommy brags how he hasn't spent a single penny on marketing because I guess he values the dozens of hours a week he spends writing novella-sized replies on AtariAge and guesting on sub-200 subscriber UA-cam channels as "zero cost".
The Amico sounds like a US Verizon of the Zeebo console that was sold here in Brazil some time ago
Boomers? Why not Hooters? 😆

I just saw Tommy Tallerico's MiLB card from fantasy camp, looks like he had the same number of walks while with the Yankees as he was as the CEO.....1 and walked out the door in each field.
Don't worry everybody... pretty soon Intellivision will be two years behind.
It's funny how desperate this has gotten
I don't know what to watch while having dinner when the Amico got canceled. That's my biggest concern.
The Intellivision was my first console and thus LOVE Intellivision so was really interested in the Amico when i heard about it. Would get one for the novelty of it. Then i saw the price and all interest drained away...
Yeah the blocking is just comical at this point lol. He really wants to launch this failure
Anyone who acts like Switch games are hard to find is lying to their self. The Walmart Nintendo isle has a section of specifically Mario games just for those uninformed customers
I think they meant finding games which are installed on the console. Which is no less bullshit than struggling to find them in stores.
@@SquinkyThreepwood lol at that point I have no words bc anyone who expects pre installed games should just buy a 20 dollar plug and play system 😂😂
@@SquinkyThreepwood I was thinking more she meant that she could find "safe" games for her kids or something. Which pretty much sealed the deal that it was a fake comment. Tommy's been pushing this weirdo alternate reality where Nintendo is some sort of haven for violence and debauchery lol Dude even insinuated the switch had pedophilia on it once.
@@devilmikey00 Aren't the parental controls on the Nintendo Switch some of the most advance there have been for a console?

i'm not getting on that 91 freeway to go to boomers to see the fucking intellivision, no way in hell.
😂I’m happy this was on my feed!!!! ^^
I'm in the UK. Is the tour coming here?
The Amico would be a hit if they packed it with Tron Deadly Disc and Lock N Chase. Those 2 games alone could move 500K Amico systems easily.
Hey guys, I've got a car for sale...and "It works"...
If I want to play mobile games on my TV I just use my chromecast and use my phone as the controller.
Love those fake quotes. I nearly shit and pissed myself.
isn't boomers a place where you get wasted first then play the Amico. if so this makes a lot of sense with the turfs and plants. More attention was spent on the drink than the brick
Holly smokes let me think for a millisecond, Switch or Amico, definitely SWITCH. Unsurprising result there
To be fair, there are some radical opponents of the Amico who haven't figured out that Nintendo still very much markets to families, so don't under estimate the power of stupid.
What an exciting partnership with Boomers…
at this point nothing tommy does surprises me of course he would do something as silly as this
14:27 Tommy doesn't have the reputation to get away with that, he's not Hideki Kamiya.
11:14 lmao 🤣
Tommy was not alone with not wearing a mask, but as the CEO, people in his position need to set an example
I guess you don’t mind when people sneeze at you without covering their mouth.
Nintendo switch games anyday over this that one review saying that they can find games better than eShop what bullshit 😂😂😂
Apparently Tommy's always been an egomaniac like this and we're just now noticing with all this recent drama. I recently picked up RC Stunt Copter on PS1 (great game by the way) and he has his own title splash screen on that. Completely insane.
As the resident Amico shill I think it's quite amusing how quickly Pat and Ian dropped the claim that the controllers lag after how long they talked about it, even when in the video footage they presented as "evidence" there was only regular latency the Wii also had (though a bit less noticeable because of more animations). Just one giant nothing from enthusiasts who don't understand the technology side.
IGN ME themselves said the controllers lagged and there's been multiple videos clearly showing it, especially the infamous "upside-down controller" video. Could they have fixed it in the past several months? Sure, but that's such a small thing at this point that it's not worth focusing on.
@@PatTheNESpunk Inconsistent responses from hardware/firmware or poor feedback in games would be one thing. That's not what you claimed though, clownshoes. You said things that got people to take freeze frames out of videos of normal functioning to claim there was any more input lag than every console normally has. You've also said plenty of other dubious stuff in Amico videos but that's not what we're talking about.
So here's the conclusion. You didn't know what you were talking about. You don't know what you're talking about. And you will never know what you're talking about because you're already so sure you do.
Go ahead and call me a shill. The truth is I haven't even pre-ordered. The Amico will launch, and people will continue to make fun of it. If it sells less than 200,000 or so it will fail, but I doubt that will make people regret their purchase. If it sells more than 200,000 but doesn't sweep the nation, everyone will do victory laps about how they were right. And if it sweeps the nation (it won't) it will still be labeled cringe. The simple fact is that the Amico represents an existential threat to entitled (retro) gamers who don't care about or respect who these retro-style games are being marketed to and disguise this distaste as pretending they don't exist, until the mask drops enough that you have to openly call them idiots.
They're not idiots Pat. They're people for whom Mario Odyssey is a bit too much of an investment. Up until the NES, games that were simple to get into and easy to play were the norm, with arcade ports occupying the harder end of that spectrum, and that casual scene continued on PCs until mobile entered the picture. It irritates you that people like you (capital g Gamers) don't get to be the experts of gaming to the public, who will continue to play Candy Crush because they are "stupid".
They're also parents who don't want their 6 year olds to beg them for online play and voice chat and $60 M rated games they play alone while hogging the TV, or have a device they can use to spend all day online watching or doing God knows what while having even worse advertised to them. They want to be able to watch from the kitchen what their kids are playing in the living room, and be able to understand and engage with it. It's not the same to compare this to a Switch or Switch Lite. A Switch Lite is a personal portable that costs $200. A Switch is a "serious" gaming console that costs $300. Neither of these come with six games that they also can play and would want to. The Switch Lite isn't even multiplayer capable in any realistic capacity.
Whether or not these people's interest translates to spending $250 remains to be seen, but it's not the point. The point is the Amico will go away one day sink or swim, and so will the hatedom that has gathered around it and you. But you won't go away. You'll still be the laughing stock of retro game UA-cam just like you were 10 years ago.
"Gotta remember, you're not selling Tommy. You're selling a video game system."
I don't know why I'm only now noticing that this entire campaign, while clearly ego-stroking, is likely just a way for him to buy legitimacy for himself.
Is it a buy-in to get in good standing with investor friends? Like a genuinely selfish career stunt?
Also, sorry to be ignorant, but having never heard of 'boomers,' that is a particularly depressing venue name for this whole thing.
They’ve got a “Boomers” in Boca Raton, Florida…though a different named park in New Jersey & near Pensacola, Florida…whew maybe the “Boomers” name has peaked and will no longer be used from here forward.👍👏👏👍
All the people that left those "reviews" of the event are people that are already Amico fans or have pre-orders, they reveal so in what they said. The fact that Tommy can only preach to the crowd and then repeat the stuff they say as "proof" is just as funny as it is sad and desperate.
For some reason, I'm (still) subscribed to the Amico emails. At this point, it's mainly for the jokes. And when I saw this, it was definitely a good joke.
It... IS a joke, right? They're not actually serious about this... right...?
The more I see and hear about this thing, I happier I am I canceled my preorder.
Well, Pat, you finally won me over. I was an Amico fanboy since it's announcement. Having grown up with an Intellivision in the house I was super excited for this until about ten minutes ago, when I read the new article on Kotaku. I had no idea Tallarico was a right-wing nut, and since the right-wing nuts I work with gave me Covid-19, FUCK THESE PEOPLE.
I refuse to support Tommy.
Anyone know how to cancel the preorder? Because I don't see any way to do it on their website.
Thanks in advance.
I've never even heard of Boomers.
BIG BIG BIG BOOMERS!
