As per usual a great video and always helpful 👍. I just wish my girlfriend had used some of your building supplies tips. I'm in and around Cebu for most of September and expecting lots of rain but being English I can cope with that more than the sun😂. Best wishes to you and yours....and please know that your efforts are appreciated 😁

Wow thank you very much for this great video. You really help us foreigners so much. I would NEVER have known there is a free bus going to the domestic terminal if I walk to the very end. I would have walked out and got in the first car and gotten ripped off 🤣 Looking forward to my trip there, thanks to your video I know what to expect and what to look for , subbed! Keep up the good work! 🙂

Hello maam, may i ask if there is a public conveyance that will go to metro ferry terminal? We need to go to Bohol & i believe it's less hassle if we'll going to pier 3 via ferry from Lapu-lapu.

what time of day was this? I've never seen it so not busy. I've never had a problem with the white taxis using the meter bit they have tried to take a long way to get to my destination. good to know the bus goes to different areas.going to sm doesn't seem ideal as you will have to queue for a taxi there. id go to the Radisson. easy to get a taxi there. do they have space for large luggage? and do they charge extra for the luggage? thanks for the video

WelcomeHome76 Maybe your driver just wanted to avoid heavy traffic because traffic in Cebu is so bad. If you’re suspicious about your driver, you can always use Google map as you drive along and tell your driver to follow what Google map says to you. Google map knows where the heavy and light traffic is. So I advise you use Google map next time you take a taxi in Cebu to erase doubts or suspicion on your driver.

WelcomeHome76 MyBus is a P2P bus service so they only make few stops between destinations. MyBus has routes also between their 2 malls as well as their mall in Mabolo to Pier 1 and further down to Talisay City.

They normally ask for more money when your luggage is still in the boot so the passenger will worry of the taxi driving off with it, so just end up giving more , thanks fir sharing.

They should label those taxi areas Scam 1 and Scam 2. However, it must be said that the foreigner can easily afford the 'adjusted' rates, but i feel sorry for the OFW that is treated as though he/she is rich.

You’re scaring people about white taxi. I haven’t experienced a white taxi negotiating for fare from airport or anywhere within the Cebu City, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu City areas. As long as your destination is within this area, they don’t negotiate for the fare. Beyond this area, they’ll surely enter into negotiation with the fare because that’s not covered in their franchised areas.

I am making people aware. If there are no cases of overcharging why do LTO still have a complaint line open? Glad to hear you haven't had any problems, I have on the other hand experienced attempts. The best one ever was someone who wanted to charge me by the meter - only to discover it was 1peso every 5 meters. LOL.

My sister & I took an airport taxi (white taxi), before these renovations, a while back (first time visit) in Cebu. We are Filipino-Americans. We gave the driver the address of my parents' residence (who retired in Cebu from L.A.). This is a numbered house in an upscale residential area. Midway, he stopped & said that he was lost. We knew that this was a scam. The meter kept on going. Then he got out & asked a passer by for directions. I told the driver that we really had to get going as my mistress has got to have lunch; it's 12:00 p.m. & she's a "WakWak" ( vampire). FYI: 12:00 p.m. are "witching hours" for Cebu & Mindanao. My fair-skinned sister did look like a vampire w/ her black hair, black clothing (she's an attorney in the U.S.), black sunglasses, & wearing a pissed-off face. He drove on; wasn't lost afterall. On arrival, I paid him only the meter fee & told him to wait while I get funds inside for his tip. He didn't wait. That's the fastest I've seen a taxi driver took off! Lots of taxi scams in the large cities.

Village People Philippines So do you know how taxi meter works like how much is the rate per minute and how much is the rate per 200 meters? If you know it then there’s nothing to be alarmed. Before saying something to your viewers because you created this video as a guide, not as an alarm. Because in this video, you clearly uttered “MOST TAXIS...” which means more than half the volume of taxis operating at the airport. I’m not taking side with taxi because I’m neither a taxi driver nor a taxi operator. FYI, here’s the new taxi rate starting March 2018: flag down rate of P40, while an additional P13.50 for every succeeding kilometer, P3.50 for every 300 meters, and a P2 is added for every two minutes waiting time in traffic. The heavier the traffic, the more you pay.

@@lionhearted1969 Of course I know how a meter works and the meter rates, but I personally experienced a white cab claim at the airport he would charge me the meter rate prior to me getting in, only then explaining is idea of the meter rate was by the meters travelled, not the use of the meter. Given the opportunity I believe from personal experience and experiences from many others I know, MOST white taxis that pick you up at the international airport will attempt to overcharge given the opportunity. That is why I advise people to go to the domestic airport area and catch a white cab there as the problem is no where near as bad. You may disagree, but there are many methods, like taking you the long way or purposely taking you to congested areas. Last time I came back from Japan, two weeks ago the white taxi did not want to use the meter, he wanted me to use grab and agree a price. The agreed amount was P450.00 which what the grab app indicated, I wanted a take out, on the way so the price increased to P750.00 due to the wait. When we arrived home, tired and exhausted, he still had my luggage in the trunk, then he said he wanted P1,100.00 because he didn't realize that he would not be able to have a fare back. So when I say MOST taxis will over charge - I mean it. And for your information I live in Cebu City Proper, but in one of the mountain barangays. So don't give me the argument it is to do with their franchise.

@@roselynwest2604 I agree there are a lot of Taxi scams in the cities. Although some are blind to them and claim they do not happen. I rarely use taxis, as I drive every where. But it seems that every time I take a white cab from the international arrivals, they try some scam. Since my target audience on this video are foreigners, they are even more of a target than Filipinos.

most of them white taxi? .I think that is over exaggerating on your part never experienced a white taxi negotiating a ride from the airport and i travel alot business trips international and domestic. That is not really fair to the hard working white taxi drivers outhere.

philip mc-airan You look Filipino, try being a foreigner who this video is aimed, and get a metered taxi from the international airport. I have foreigner friends moaning about it all the time. That is why I advice people in the video to go to the domestic airport and get their taxis there. Something you would have seen had you watch all the video.
