Really interesting topic, didn't even notice the 40 minutes passing by 👌 It seems the video ended up abruptly though and you didn't finish making your last point.
EDIT: Alright I've seen the whole video, it is actually quite insightful, my only criticism is mentioning LoL as a cosmetic only game, there are many Dota 2 players whose core reasons for not playing LoL are that they dont wanna buy/heavy grind to unlock champs or buffs before the start of the round, and they would be very angry seeing this video, if you can do anything about that (and the inaccuracies in the auto subtitles while you're at it)
@altheasantos3507 paid masteries? I've played league for 10 years and I have no idea what you're on about. Most games gate champions behind a currency but you wouldn't consider a champion selection pay2win from most perspectives. I think we just have different understandings of what pay2win is
Vainglory flailed because it won't run on low ends phones. It's too ahead of it's time and didn't target third world countries. Majority of popular free to play mobile games are big in third world countries. If you ask a popular moba UA-camr in the Philippines he says VG is the best moba on phone but don't play it anymore because there was not enough players.
Failed for a lot of reasons - it wasn't just that. The control scheme was more advanced and accurate but hard to play casually Way too much spending on Esports Failure to capture markets outside of Singapore and Phillipines Lots of reasons really
What I missed in this video and applies mostly for mobile games is the bait of Free to play game which is pay to win. I think the overall mobile game players are sick of the gotcha games that appear as free to play and fun, and some are at start, but then they see how pay to win the game really is and that is the point where they quit. Furthermore, we don't have enough first movers. Everyone just copies leaders and make small changes and hope to become successful. I may be wrong as I only kept an eye out on the Clash Royale type of games, but sadly in the last 3 years we have seen a move towards pay to win at an increasing rate creating frustration for those who want to showcase the game to newer players and won't be able to without lying about the money aspect.

Damn, seeing Wildstar in the thumbnail brought up some memories. That was such an amazing MMORPG.

Underlords is one of the most slept on games ever. Last one with Blizzard polish.

Why do most Free to Play Games "Fail"? *sponsored by Raid = Troll.
@alphaomega8373 why? Raid is doing fine. Not a massive player base but they have a lot of spenders
