They were already really nice enclosures but you just made them a whole lot better. I can tell you love your tegus so much because your always trying to find a way to tweak and better there enclosures. And it seems to bring you happiness.

Tegu' will climb, however they are clumsy critters and fall hard. Good thing Tegu' are strong beast! Looks amazing brother.
Most of them climb the sides of the enclosure and fall from that. Figured this might actually make it safer for them. We will see!

Loralie is still not climbing on the log. She will only go under it.
I have been working on her enclosure this weekend. She is in the 6 x 4 x 4 now.

This is absolutely amazing. I would love to try that with my tegu, mine is in a temp set up in a 8ft grow tent since we are moving, but that is something I've always wondered also. When I get to put his wood enclosure back together and also when I build his outdoor enclosure on our new property.

How do you deal with things like ants? We’ve got fire ants in our yard. I wouldn’t want to spray for them around a tegu.

could we get an update on this? do they use the platform or elevated hide a lot? do they go up and down a lot?
I specifically put tegus in there that I knew always tried climbing to the top of their enclosure. This spring and summer the tegus in the aborial enclosures were all over them. A couple of them stayed in the elevated hide over the one on the ground. Very happy I added this and may add more climbing space in some other enclosures.

I went the opposite way with my "Lizzie"... Her enclosure was 2' X 6', 2-Layer, but the 2nd layer was a basement cavern that required burrowing to reach. She loved it!

If you don't have outdoor space should you not get a tegu? Can I get one if it would have to be kept in doors?
Thats a great question. They can totally be kept and thrive in an indoor setup.

@@janlvll5486 I bought my girl (blue Tegu) from Joey. She is completely indoors. I altered a grow tent for her. If I move I can just wrap it back up.
I highly recommend a tegu. Once they are tamed down, they are great. I love my Loralie.
She came from Rose City Reptiles. If you get one, its worth getting it from Joey, The animals are healthy and well taken care of when you recieve them. He also answers your questions when you contact him.
Definitely late to say this but tegus will get out of the growtent eventually, it is only a matter of time
