Paul Carrack (born April 22, 1951 in Sheffield, England) is an English keyboardist, singer and songwriter. Carrack has had multiple careers which have overlapped over the last three-plus decades. He has been a member of several bands including Ace, Squeeze, Mike + The Mechanics, and Roxy Music, been a session and touring musician for several others, and has enjoyed success as a solo artist as well. His distinctive voice shows up on some of his affiliated bands' best-known hits.
Nunn joined the New Wave, techno-pop band Berlin in 1979, but temporarily left the band the following year to pursue an acting career. In 1981, Nunn rejoined the group as the lead vocalist and would soon forge her recording career with the band. Nunn's greatest success with Berlin was the top-selling single "Take My Breath Away", the love theme from the film Top Gun, which reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Other popular songs voiced by Nunn included Sex (I'm A...), The Metro, No More Words, and Masquerade.
In 1989, Mike + The Mechanics had a UK No. 2 and US No. 1 hit with the "The Living Years", on which Carrack again sang lead. Also in 1989, Carrack recorded a duet with Terri Nunn from the Los Angeles-based synth-pop band Berlin entitled "Romance". The song appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Sing, starring Peter Dobson and Lorraine Bracco.
Masterpiece. The harmonizing between these Terri & Paul is pure magic
I worked in the radio broadcasting field for 30 years, starting in 1985. I remember playing this song on the radio. Sadly, it was a hit for only a short time. To non-80s kids, I'm sure this sounds like just another cheesy 80s love song, but it is actually an underappreciated classic from a time when love songs were truly passionate and romantic. Paul and Terri were great together. They should've collaborated more.
I loved this song since the movie came out!! ❤❤ I was 13
Absolutely agree buddy
@@ReverendBrown.That would have been hard since this song is from 1989. :-)
@@Heartboy1031What would have been difficult? I used rather simple language. I said I was in radio STARTING in 1985. I was in broadcasting for 27 years, so I was still doing it in '85. I'm sorry I was clearly unclear.
Born in ‘02 & I absolutely love this song. Music just isn’t good like this anymore😩
Most underrated movie ever total masterpiece
Wholeheartedly agree.😔
I used to watch this movie over and over on the club scene just so I could hear this song.. love it!!!
Me too😍😍😍
Same!
I just finished watching this movie on Amazon Prime even though I have seen the movie so much I lost count. Watching the movie on Amazon Prime made me rediscover this song and brought me here
These singers harmonize beautifully.
I love this song, among a lot of great songs from the Sing Soundtrack! I wish it was on Spotify!
One of the greatest movies of all times!
Paul Carrack has a great voice. He & Mike McDonald ought to be in the R&R Hall of Fame as stand alone artist.
A MAGNIFICENT SONG ALWAYS!!!!
Such an amazing song and duo!
No matter how many times I watch and hear this it’s my ultimate Fave Song plus movie .
La encontré !!! Lo que he buscado ésta canción !!! Recién la pasaron en la radio y la pude reconocer !!!
i was 16 back in 1989, and had forgotten about the song until I'd heard a different Paul Carrack song for one of those Time/Life promotions. I remember loving this song back in 1989 and wondering why it wasn't a bigger hit. The use of minor chords throughout the song just add a feeling of melancholy to the song that was the late 1980s...
I was 23 in 1989 and didn’t realize at the time I had met my future wife. 34 years later, I’m thankful for my wife and 2 amazing daughters.
This movie was awesome! It's a shame it didn't get the attention it deserved. And yes, I wish iTunes sold it too1
watching sing right now, my all time favorite movie
It’s streaming on Amazon Prime right now. I just watched it again today

First heard this song while studying in Canada in the late 80's, early 90's; recorded it on cassette tape and just listened to it the other day. Love it!! On my playlist now.
Una Demostración del Poderío Vocalistico de la Leyenda Paul Carrack y La Espectacular Terry Nunn. Una Pieza Musical como pocas. Fina, Delicada. Una melodía exquisita.👍

Saw this movie when I was 12 loved it & still do best movie ever & music was amazing,
I love this song
I remember that this song was used in the tv spot for the movie when it first came out in theatres. It always stayed with me for some reason.
Again, really gorgeous song! For those of you who like romance movies a lot, I would recommend "Baby, It's You", with Rosanna Arquette & Vincent Spano. The scenes from "Sing" kind of remind me of that one, for some reason.
Paul Carrack is great ; I really enjoy How Long by Ace !
The Living Years with Mike and the Mechanics
Great song

I saw Sing in the theater when my dad was stationed in Mannheim, Germany. Romance is my favorite song. XO

Romance"
I heard it said
"Romance was dead and gone"
And I almost believed it was true
'Til the moment you came along
I know it's so hard to find romance
When the world moves so fast
But when I look at you
I get the feeling, these feelings will last
Let's make our own romance
We've got time, we've got love
That's always been enough
Why don't we take the chance?
Pull me in close and dance
Can you bring me your heart?
Bring on the stars, bring back romance
I've been alone
I know you've been there too
So you know when there's no one to hold
Even moonlight can make you blue
But now somehow
We've got each other to fill up the night
And once we strike a spark
It won't take long before a fire will ignite
Let's make our own romance
We've got time, we've got love
That's always been enough
Why don't we take the chance?
Pull me in close and dance
Can you bring me your heart?
Bring on the stars, bring back romance
Working together we'll build our love
And once we build it strong
It's gonna last forever
I liked the song then and still do. I taped the video of VH1 and watched it over and over just to look at Terri Nunn. She was gorgeous. Like Hoffs from the Bangles, just smoking hot.
Another late 80's music tune (in 1989) a soundtrack from the motion picture "SING"
Actually, now that I hear it a number of times, it actually sounds pretty perfect, or close enough. So nevermind my initial suggestions for its improvement. That was when I first re-heard it, after a long-many-year span. This is one astonishing tune! Quite a rarity.
Talk about a gorgeous singer Terri Nunn is a babe
MYSTERIOUS UNIVERSE And still is today in 2020.
Penthouse Miss February 1977
I love da song and movie!!❤️❤️
i practically grew through my childhood in the 80s, but unfortunately i was so ignorant of what was going on back then. i knew bits and pieces, certainly loved a lot of songs back then, but never really knew what was going on in the world, especially in the music world, at that time. i wish i was more cognizant
Wow... Imagine slow dancing with... with...
love this song. love this movie!! yay! thanks for posting

I never saw SING (did anybody?) but I do remember the song; it might have been used in some other movies. Great vocals!

This should have been a huge hit. Much better than the garbage from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.

In blinked, and whole era was gone.
Minnen ifrån en mysig, men kort tid 2007... u know who u are.
I guess this song was too mellow to even make the Hot 100.
The dude bucking up on the girl? No way that flies today.
Hi! Love this love song and I was so happy when I finally found it. Does anybody know if it is available in spotify? Can’t find it there. Thanks!

Carrack has a much better voice than Collins

MYSTERIOUS UNIVERSE I’m listening
I think he looks like Bill Maher as well
Alex Wells better voice than Murray too
this is a public service announcement, anyone who was conceived because your parents heard this song, please know, your parents couldn't help it, don't sue them, you and millions others like you may not be here if it weren't for this song 🤪🤪

Do anyone have the B-side of this 45RPM, “Life Ain’t Worth Living (When You’re Dead) by Rachel Sweet? Thanks!
Would be good to upgrade the audio using the digital.
Can’t find it on Spotify
Who were the songwriters?
It was written by Patrick Leonard, who famously wrote ‘Live to Tell’ with Madonna. What an artist.
Beautiful song! One improvement though, would have been having the two vocalists sing a few more lines by themselves, here and there, during the refrain; maybe exchanging a certain piece in the later chorus part at different repeat moments. But other than that small idea, they did fantastic, and it was really well done.
at 47:0 that was not in the movie
hsuitor1234
Yes it was
Awful song and movie romantic nonsense
Shut up, you know nothing about music and cinema
