Hi Guys I'm in the UK and fitted a wood stove in the house about 10 years ago. My observations on your install are as follows, only two things don't worry. 1 } I found the flue was best installed with the upper tubes fitted inside the lower, this insured that any moister was contained within the inside therefore not staining the lower tubes on the outside. 2) Put all the ashes on the veggie patch not the driveway, otherwise your food will loose all the minerals from your diet, but your drive will be fit and healthy.
Fab videos well done - wonderful family.

When I watched Heath throw the ash on the driveway I yelled out nooo garden mate😊 perhaps he'll do that with the new set up👍my parents replaced their wood stove/oven in the early 50s with and electric oven not long after they regretted doing this as the wood burning oven heated the house during the cold winters.

He has small garden boxes, im sure he doesnt want them full of ash. I bet he has planty of ash throughout the year to keep his little garden full of enough ash.

That stove looks just like the one I was able to purchase from Lopi after they were finished with it in their development lab in 1987. You will really like yours. We used it to heat our home for 30 years. It was still burning well and cleanly when we sold the house in 2017. The only maintenance I needed to do was replace an angle iron frame that held some ceramic bricks in place above the firebox. It was oxidized away by the heat after almost 20 years. The bricks were heated by the fire and once the stove damper was closed, the smoke was pulled to the front of the stove where it then washed over the upper side of the hot bricks in the presence of heated air to cause a secondary burn of the smoke. I cleaned the chimney twice in the time we used it and never had more than 1/8" of creosote build up. We burned dry Douglas Fir. By the way, the name Lopi is pronounced with a long I sound at the end. Your channel has been an inspiration to follow.

Nice upgrade. I had a wood stove fire place insert... but I added some hidden ducts to get the heat upstairs. We had a blower moving air around the back of the stove and into ducts that heated the upstairs. Without those, the downstairs would be at 90 before the upstairs reached 70... but we got it working. Thanks for sharing this with us - now I'll know what brand of stove to look for next time I need one.

Every month or so I bang on the pipe to bring cresote down and clean it out. I burn hardwoods all the time so not much build up. Snow fall is pretty but glad its up there, we shouldnt get much until Jan!!! LOL!!

Both of my woodstoves, one in my house and one in my workshop, are Jotul stoves and they were both made in the 1980's. My Jotul 8 I bought for $200 over 20 years ago, and at the time a new one cost over a $1,000. My workshop stove is a Jotul 3 and it easily heats 1,100 sq feet. Used stoves are the way to go if you're frugal. :)

have followed your channel quietly since the first framing, have run a canadian [cfn] stove with cervini double wall piping ,have been tickled with its efficancy and low ash ,have replaced the upper ceramic board once ,and have had to pad weld the door opening once to insure a good door seal,i burn dogwood mostly [theres a bad dogwood blight] as well as cherry and oak ,its a stove simialer in size to what you now have ,and it heats 3400 sq. feet very nicely ,in kentucky so not as harsh as where you are at,.its set on the second floor but between the cathedral ceilings ceiling fans and open floor pan it works nice and cuts my flue length down to 10ft from stove to cap versus 28 ft if installed down stair ,its a hillside home with second story and 10/12 pitch .also this alowwed me to install it 3 feet from the back door .[cuts down on the mess].as far as insulation, thers 1in of foam under the slap,2in of foam on underground concret walls,6in exterior walls with 1in of foam on outside,14in rafters [that was pricy] so i could get more insulation, steel insulated doors,5/8 thermopain glass picture windows, front of house faces southwest to get the radiant sun effect, and minimun windows on north face.really enjoy your channel and the openess of showing your family and the goods and not so good days,be blessed

and the nice thing about switching woodstoves (at least in our country, the netherlands) is that the money you put in to it, pretty much get out of it.. so you can use it for years and years and not worry about losing money on it. Great job, and you got new subscriber for the channel.

Bought our 1200sqft home in 06 and someone had installed a buck fireplace insert, but it was in a small room in the corner of the house. Year before last we bought a 1977 fisher grandpa bear stove and installed it in the living room to a new 8" stainless steel chimney we installed. Its not super efficient, but our old drafty house stays super toasty. I need to clean ours up and put some stove black on it,but itll be fine for now.

Those pipes across the top of the burn chamber will make a big difference. Known as afterburners. They inject air into the unburnt gasses that would normally disappear up the chimney, giving you more heat output, less smoke, and less tar build up in the chimney. definitely a worthy upgrade...

We have two Endeavor Lopi in our houses. I would never buy another brand. 30 years of winter heating and hundreds of chords of wood over the years. Replace the Fire bricks periodically and the second heat burner tubes every few years. Super cheap to heat our 3000 sq/ft houses. P.S. don't use a flue damper to control the stove. Use the second air control pull out lever.

bought that exact same stove in '04 and it's still going strong! You're right, it's pronounced low-pie 👎 Definitely worth getting the blower accessory. Keep an eye on the reburner tubes at the top of the firebox, they have pins that hold the correct orientation for the perforated tubes to add air to the firebox but those pins shear easily and the tubes end up pointing in less than optimal directions @Heath.
