Nice playing. I'll be sure to check out some of your other videos because I might get into recording some flute (And other woodwinds) in the future. And I'm sure people tell you all the time, but your voice is magnificent.
Due to the differences in microphones, there should probably be some small differences in mic positioning depending on wich mic you use. So I suggest experementing a little more with positioning for every mic specifically. great sound though!
Wow, 1997.. I'm, like.. 2-3 years old back then. Have you thought of maybe giving the SM57 a Fethead or a Cloudlifter to get extra gain without the hiss? Could be something worth looking into but they're quite pricey. ._.;
Hello! I don't use dynamic microphones for recording for just that reason. Even some of the cheapest condenser microphones have lower self noise than most dynamic mics. Cheers!
Could you make a video on the effects you use for bamboo flute? Reverb, delay, and their specifications... There is really very little such information on youtube.
Very nice. I ned a mic for flute , hamonica and singing. NOTHING fancy . I'm in between Shure beta a 58 and Sennheiser e945. Had a Shure sm 58 before ( got stolen) , it worked fine but would like to try something a little better .Thanks in advance for any answer.
i need to rec flute with a dynamic mic as i wanna rec at home and im confused between shure sv200q/audiotechnica atr1300x/akg p3s,,, please recommend .
Surprising amount of nice air. I thought SM57 would be too mid focused for flute. Turns out I was wrong. If your playing with an SM57 can sound this good with your technique, I can't even imagine what it would sound like with for example a Neumann KM187, which has pronounced but velvety high end and nice full body. Also the fast reaction time of a small diaphragm condenser makes it very 3D sounding, and that would fit flute sound beautifully.
You have an amazing voice ! Waw !
This is it, spend whole day looking for this video, flute recording with sm57, thankyou sir, terimakasih
Sounded nice and am looking forward to your other videos.
Been looking for a mic to record my shinobue. found your video. damn bro you sound like a radio announcer
Sounds great.. You can also use it for a hammer! Built like a tank!
Is that a bamboo flute @1:20?
Hello! Yes! This is a seven hole bamboo flute with a bamboo lip plate. Cheers!

Hello! What are you recording?
Sir a dynamic mic or BM 800 condenser mic? Which would be better for Flute?
Hello! I really can't recommend the BM 800 for flute. I have something like it and it does ok but not as well as a better dynamic mic.

what type of flute is that?
Hello! Thanks! This is a bamboo flute with a lip plate. The flute maker is one of the few bamboo flute makers that put lip plates on his flutes.
What is the flute you played called? It sounds lovely
Hello! That is a 7 holed D minor flute with a bamboo lip plate. It is basically a fancier bamboo flute like the Bansuri. Cheers!

hello, I wanted to know what pedal or effect you step on to give that reverb sound... greetings
Hello! I'm using a TC Electronics Hall of Fame effects pedal. So far it is the best one I've ever heard. Cheers!
Thanks a lot for the video. So sir what mic is better for recording flute? Dynamic mic or condenser?
Hello! In my experience condenser mics give much more detailed recordings than dynamic mics in the same price range.
HE... is our father...
Really lovely playing and what a wonderful voice! I was wondering, what kind of flute are you playing here?
Hello! Thank you! This is just a seven holed bamboo flute with a lip plate. The best way to describe it is a modernized Indian Bansuri. Cheers.
@@CaneMajor Awesome thank you! Keep up the good work!
What efx you using
Hey! I'm using a TC electronics hall of fame pedal in inserted in my mixer.
