Interesting comparison of the various shooting modes Robert. I tend to stick with 4k 30fps but 2.4 60fps is also a great mode for a hobby flier like myself. Thanks for this video which was uploaded almost a year ago, before I became a subscriber. This video has taken me back over sixty years. When I was a kid I grew up in an area was, and still is, called Mynydd Bach Y Glo, which in English means little mountain of coal, it had quite a few grass and bracken covered coal tips "bings" there. It was a great place to grow up and play, it was also my hiding place when I saw the old fella go for the scissors and clippers as I knew I was due for a haircut. Usually on a Sunday, I'd stay in hiding until he left for the working mans club. We also used to "toboggan" down them on bits of of tin or plywood. You can imagine the colour on us and our clothes. Our mothers were a special breed to keep us clean without a washing machine, using just a wash board and coal fire to heat the water. The tips were eventually removed and the spoil taken to a local brickworks, where it was used in the manufacture of the bricks. Made me think about yesterday's video.
The 2.7K @ 60fps is great if I am using Lassie and Laddie footage in the same video because Laddie records in 4K @ 60fps. But I do usually have Lassie set to 4K @ 30fps
to me it isn't important that it's 4K. My internet speed struggles with 4K streaming, trying to keep up but having to pause every once in awhile to catch up. What is important is the content. The scenery, your comments and the music are what makes me want to watch, I feel entertained and learn something as well. Only the pixel peepers will comment that it isn't in 4k, so don't tell us what its shot at, I'll never complain. Continue with the great video anyway you choose to film it.
It's not officially the weekend until I have me some Windswept Robert video! You realize you've created a whole group of dependent watchers, right? Lassie Fans!
I honestly don’t think it matters what settings we use with the Mini 2. The footage is always great from this sucker. Even the 1080 looks great. Awesome views from Scotland, buddy. Love the music choices. Very relaxing. Nice hand landing too.
Have to agree with you re the settings. Thanks for the comment re my handling. I'm finding that practicing more and making slower and more gradual movements produces better results. It's just so hard to keep things nice and slow and even when I hear a voice in my head saying: 'hurry up, hurry up!"
The enchanting "Lassie" charm has totally got me. In honour of Lassie, and the way I fly, I'm getting very tempted to call mine, endearingly, "Bruiser".
Thanks again Robert. I learnt one thing and that is that you can do 4x Zoom at 1080. I thought the max zoom was 2x as I rarely change the setting. Will experiment over the weekend as the weather’s pretty decent down South.

Beautiful countryside, I definitely need to visit one day soon. For me the 2.7 gave the best view, its much better than 1080 but smoother than 4k. I thought the 4k looked a bit unnatural in the movement, while everything was pin sharp it didn't look quite right to me. The 1080 looked good, movement looked decent and was still nice and sharp but the 2.7 took the biscuit this time. Looked nice and smooth, pin sharp and looking natural. Saying that I did watch this on a 17in FullHD laptop screen, so that probably affected things, but that screen is what I watch the most. Did you have any filters on ?
Great video, lived in Dalmellington all my life never heard it called burning bing to be honest only the bing. Used to be smoke came out the top of it but it stopped a few years ago. Up the Craig directly behind the bing at the foot of the cliffs is an ancient stone structure in the shape of a fish that would look great from a drone. Keep up the good work
