I thought people were overestimating the tiyanak episode and it being depressing but jeez. //spoilers And the crying as the kid is stabbed by their OWN MOTHER. And the innocence of a child is still in the aswang which makes it even more heart-breaking. They're confused as to why their mother whom they love is doing such a things to them and it HURTS. God damn that's a solid 11/10 from me for that episode
To those who haven't watch(I haven't either) or know the plot. Here's the plot (assumingly) the woman probably lost her child and became despaired when she saw a baby left in the road, little did she know that child is a tiyanak but the brief moment of having it as a child give her bliss
The plot is good, i watched all episodes but I wish the animation would improve and so as the pacing (it felt a bit too fast), I hope improvements will be made especially if it gets a second season (The marketing was so cool) (Most Filipino VA were fine but...the main girl be really..)
1:12 “They’ve just broken down in the middle of nowhere. People are very calm considering that the train is just, like...destroyed.” As a Filipino myself, that is actually a realistic portrayal of MRT commuters. Westerners get worried, but for us, it’s just another Monday commute.
@cdawg the monster baby is called a tiyanak. Its the corrupted spirit of aborted/abandoned children. In most filipino folklore, the dead baby becomes a tiyanak in order to look for its mother, longing for acceptance and love. This is why the tiyanak proceeded to cry when the lady stabbed it to death. It finally came so close to feeling a mother's touch and it just gets betrayed, told everything it didn't want to hear, and killed on the spot. Amazing how the tone shifted in just mere moments. You gotta ask who the real monster is.
the tiyanak scene was sad, but then again I was scared of that when I was a kid. Tiyanaks are usually those newborns or kids who we're abandoned or "Worthless"
Bitin, I need the other stories the author/creator wrote about Alex and her elder brothers.. But being left alone without a family member around in the plot is a solid angst and ache in my heart it's brutal but it shapes Alex decisions and destiny for herself. It's like seeing through another surprise dimension, other than what I know about the comics.. it's refreshing..
In the last few scenes of ep 6, as Alex look at the balete tree there brief second of her seeing her kuyas along with those that are close to her heart Maybe her kuyas (especially Rick and Carlos) will play some role in season 2
I like how some people in the comments emphasize "in the Philippines" like it's a Philippines only specific thing, pretty much other places in other countries which are in the same type of environment do the same things.

CDawg saying anyone has a nice voice is like wonderful. It’s always nice coming from someone who’s voice is dope themselves.
"People are very calm that the train is destroyed" well...... it happens very often.
I thought people were overestimating the tiyanak episode and it being depressing but jeez.
//spoilers
And the crying as the kid is stabbed by their OWN MOTHER.
The plot is good, i watched all episodes but I wish the animation would improve and so as the pacing (it felt a bit too fast), I hope improvements will be made especially if it gets a second season (The marketing was so cool)
(Most Filipino VA were fine but...the main girl be really..)
1:12 “They’ve just broken down in the middle of nowhere. People are very calm considering that the train is just, like...destroyed.”
As a Filipino myself, that is actually a realistic portrayal of MRT commuters. Westerners get worried, but for us, it’s just another Monday commute.
Glad to see they animated the places i frequent too. Yes, most of the backgrounds there exist in real life!
just wait for their reaction when they watch the prison inmates and soldiers eating DINUGUAN scene
am glad they had actual Anitubers in this
joey: they are very calm despite the train is broken
me: it happens all the time
@cdawg the monster baby is called a tiyanak.
1:12 Joey, you have no idea how normal that is here lol

I'm so glad Aki was there.
well done Netflix.
Akidearest and Trash Talk commentary? I'm sold!
*Trash Taste Podcast
The last scene was an unborn or born (but left to die) baby that doesn't baptize and became a demon.
Now I'll wait for Garnt's "Explaining Trese in __ minutes"
"Walis Tambo.. I have PTSD of my Mum hitting me with that" 🤣🤣🤣
Ok the legends themselves loved it... Panonoorin ko na talaga to...
the tiyanak scene was sad, but then again I was scared of that when I was a kid.
In the last few scenes of ep 6, as Alex look at the balete tree there brief second of her seeing her kuyas along with those that are close to her heart
Maybe her kuyas (especially Rick and Carlos) will play some role in season 2
I like how some people in the comments emphasize "in the Philippines" like it's a Philippines only specific thing, pretty much other places in other countries which are in the same type of environment do the same things.
Now i want them to stream watching trese pleaseeee
Joey: says f**k
Aswang: says b***h
Joey: Language, Sir!
Wait till he watches the car scene, Hank basically verbal abuse Basilio 😅
Aki and the bois, they're finally here.
i wish they explained the context behind the tiyanak after because that just makes it worse
The baby noises just make it worse EUGHHHH i hate stuff like that
I started screaming when I saw Aki and the anime Trese in the thumbnail. *I screamed even more when i saw everybody else*
Trese looks good. Why is there no hype around this?
There was hype in the Philippines and Asia. But did not spread as much I'm the west.
You know why they are so calm, Joey? Cuz they're used to it! 😅🤣
Ah yes the Bois reacting to Tagalog
the tiyanak one was actually one of the saddest episodes trese released
I'm not saying Trese isn't cool. I enjoyed it. But, these "anitubers" will like anything Netflix tells them to like. All these reactions are fake, even when they do like it, they're over-playing it. They're just part of the media for Netflix now. They don't have independent thoughts.
Bro they literally said like Netflix only show them the good parts, They have their own thoughts in the moment and the moment they start watching shows as a whole (Record of Ragnarok)
@@himasekiwari155 I feel you sir. I could've worded that better. I'll put it to you this way. It's called controlled opposition. Yes, they've rightfully criticized certain things.
Here's what you need to understand; even tho they all have their own podcasts and channels, they now work for Netflix too. Netflix hires voice actors, produces the animation, etc. At the end of the day it IS a conflict of interest. So, they'll criticize, but they'll never cross the line.
@@HyenaXS Pero ni-reveal na nila isa isa na ung thoughts nila towards this show even before this happened.
They gave their thoughts on their own Twitch Channels while livestreaming.
Wow, didn’t know Netflix can do this. More of this please. I love this
As a Filipino Myself, I will have to say that this is Valid.
I know this is a little bit late. But one of the original artists of trese is my uncle Brian Balondo, and I too myself was mind blown how amazing he is and all his artworks. He also did alot of stuff including his artwork being featured at the real star wars page. His art work was the "rouge one" and damn, iz a mastah piece.
IM WHEEZING AT THE REACTIONS WHEN THE TIYANAK STARTED CRYING BC SAME
trese is my fav anime / movie everrr
Trese was Amazing. I watched the English dub and then in Tagalog and turned on the subtitles so the hubby could follow along.
Joey-(people are calm considering the train just breaks)..
Yes joey.. There is this time where that exact train suddenly stop working and it happen constantly..
Those who wandering what that small monster got stabbed is. its a chanak/tyanak a baby said by the elders who turns into a monster when babies dies un baptized
Clicked for Aki, stayed for trese
The tiyanak episode still hits me!
Then wow..the thumbnail
4:22 thats gentle language here if you fight with words you throw in some bad words
That tiny dude with spider legs is called TIYANAK a demon BABY
They didn't show how trese send off the tiyanak with a ritual, man the visual effects of that scene was so bad ass, seeing a Philippine version of magic circles feels refreshing.
everyone from the podcast is here and I love IT
They're calm bc it's a normal situation here
i cried so much at the tiyanak episode wtf that's so e v i l
I hope we get more episodes for TRESE season 2!
I smell the overyly proud pinoys with cultured brains
The first scene was already hilarious because trains breaking down out of nowhere is a very common thing here
Honestly, the tiyanak looks so cute
