Getting the regulator disconnected from the gas bottle can be tricky. Look at the black button described at 1:55 - the button under the on / off valve. When disconnecting the regulator from the bottle you need to press IN this button - it is not very intuitive unless it is explicitly indicated in your heater User Manual. It did my head in for a while also until I discovered it.
cheers anthony never had gas heater before tried to follow instructions on my book with heater useless. followed your advice so much easier again many thanks
Thank you for this Andy, really. Have power out for a few days and needed to know how to use one of these as I bought one this morning. Instruction manual not worded the best. Legend 🍻
Mobile gas heaters are fab, they kick out Loads of heat, but we need to open a window slighly.. So much hotter than Lec & nice to have a warm glow.. Thanks for tips 😘
You need a 1 metre clear space around the heater to avoid any fire hazard and the front should be well away from furniture curtains and drapes as well as toys, soft furnishings and furniture coverings.
Thank you for this video! I just bought a calor gar but the regulator has a rattling as though there is a loose part inside. I'm wondering if that is okay; the connections seems secure though.
it must be a good ventilation. you need oxygen for living, heater needs oxygen for burning. plus - buy a CO sensor/alarm. it is not expensive but can save life
I don't, just regularly keep your heater serviced once a year by an LPG qualified Gas Safe engineer or Calor Gas main dealer or caravan dealer who services LPG appliances, and leave an inside door open for ventilation purposes i.e. a kitchen or conservatory door, that's all I do, no need for a carbon monoxide alarm at all. You should also check the flame colour and quality of burning regularly too and take action if you see a yellow tipped blue flame or completely yellow flame with soot, this indicates the burners and/or pilot light could be clogged with dirt and dust not allowing any airflow to burn cleanly.
Anthony, This video does not show how to change a bottle. Only how to put a particular regulator on to a bottle., you do not show how to take it off. Mine does not have a button, are there other types of releases. Many thanks
The gas regulator toggle can double as the button too. Try closing the regulator then pushing it in towards the gas bottle. We have two heaters and one of the regulators works that way.
I really wanted to see how you press yr buttons..and when to turn them to what position , l can smell the gas but after turn the nobs nothing came out..everything is new..
on and off positions are marked on regulators, but there's no info how to take regulators off. some regulators got only this "on-off" lever, without the release button. to take them off you have to push this lever in.
Ah! That's the regulator I have. No bottle coupled but I can't seem to get the bottle to couple up. Its as you described, doesn't have the button below, is just the on/off. How do I connect it to the bottle? It doesn't just click on and I can't find a video showing it. It's a year since you commented but do you know how to do it? Thanks
which direction is off? At beginning of video (0.26 sec) regulator switch is turned to face upwards to turn gas OFF but later (3.40) switch is turned upwards to turn gas ON. Which is correct?
Can I use either the blue or orange gas can? It currently has a blue one but it’s running out however I have a full orange one and was wondering if I could use that one??
Gaming Vids Sorry, no. Propane (red) or sometimes orange, is contained at a much higher pressure and as such, it must not be used indoors. It could cause a very dangerous situation indeed if propane is used in a domestic mobile gas heater i.e. too high a flame spreading dangerously out of the ceramic plaque burners due to the higher pressure contained and produced. You must use Calor Gas butane at 28mbar or indeed any other brand of butane cylinder i.e such as Flogas Birmingham Auto Gas Rix Countywide West Wales Gas etc using a suitable regulator as specified by the mobile heater manufacturer and fitted to your heater.
Just turn off the portable gas knob on the top till the flame dies out sometimes it sputers but thats normal theres no need to worry unless there's a faulty gas hose in the back but you can get it checked out normally free when you buy your gas get the lads to check your portable gas heater no worries👍🔥
I wanna take the regulator off and can't it's the same regulator as in video is doing my head in I have 15 of these on site and we can't get the regulator off

Thankyou so much for showing me how to change a gas bottle safe, as now one else I asked would show me.
Good video. I couldn't get the regulator to attach but didn't realise there was a button to be pressed. Thanks.
Thanks so much for helping I was not able to put on my gaz heater but now I can do it . I appreciate it
Just what I needed. You made it simple. Thank you for sharing
Thanks (8 years after you posted!) If you dont change them very often its easy to forget how to get the regulator off !

Is the top bit supposed to move around abit when putting it into the heater?

Do you need to open a window for the carbon monoxide?

Does the gas make sound from bottle to heater? Like a soft hissing sound?
Yes it does, its part of the gas conecting nothing to worry about👍
Thank you
How do you take it off again , press that button again I suppose .
Cheers just helped me right out !😁

Lol so basically there is no point me watching this then.... thanks for the heads up
Yup lol, push little black plastic button in to take regulator off, took abit of force to get mine off
Purrrect🐾😘🤗

it is marked on regulator, just look at it. horizontal is off, vertical is on.
there's good heat in those gas fires, as good as a stove, warm in minutes.
Can I use either the blue or orange gas can? It currently has a blue one but it’s running out however I have a full orange one and was wondering if I could use that one??

I like the way you protect the carpet by fitting carpet offcuts under the wheels but walk with the shoes on on top of the carpet at the same time :)🤪
Want to know how to change a empty calor gas bottle from a calor heater
I have one and I'm not sure how to make sure the gas is off , I don't want to leave it incase I get poisoning
Just turn off the portable gas knob on the top till the flame dies out sometimes it sputers but thats normal theres no need to worry unless there's a faulty gas hose in the back but you can get it checked out normally free when you buy your gas get the lads to check your portable gas heater no worries👍🔥
@@sweetooth1967 thanks a million Anthony your a star 🌟
Fancy telling us how to take the fxxking empty one out!
The valve switch is also a button that you press in, and it will click out with ease. No twisting required.
Mobile gas heaters should be inspected and serviced every 12 months at a Calor Centre for safety performance and good heating output.
How do you disconnect FFS.
Can't see a thing. Maybe if you take the paper tag off and showed us what the connector looks like.
Camera not showing what the person was doing couldn’t see how it was done
Thank you! I like the cat! Hahaha
The cap is too tight and I cannot pull it off..
Pull it forward, not upwards
Pull the cylinder cap lanyard upwards and outwards to remove it from the cylinder valve.
I need to take my calor gas off am a little nervous lol frightened I may blow myself up 😂
To take it off push in the black pin hard and pull it off
I wanna take the regulator off and can't it's the same regulator as in video is doing my head in I have 15 of these on site and we can't get the regulator off
Hope you resolved it eventually. See my comment above.
Can't disconnect mine
Disconnect?????

Thank you. 😊 we now have heat 🔥
Missed how to disconnect
You are not replacing a bottle you are putting one in it doesn’t tell the problems of removing the old one ,,,,no instructions as I acquired this one
just pop the button if i remember rightly takecare bud,
ha ha good
This says change ! So why don’t you show hot to remove a bottle ? It’s what I came her for.
CANT HEAR YOU.
To long winded, was annoying to see you waste time screwing the back on.
Useless - what about disconnecting?
cack
That back is useless
Much easier to fit it up before you put the bottle in the heater🙄
