  • Footage from days 7 and 8 of The Great Britain XVI (16) multi-day tour, 19 and 20 April 2024:
44871 & 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier working from Edinburgh to Carlisle, seen at Crawford in the Upper Clyde Valley working to Beattock Summit and leaving Lockerbie after a water stop. Having handed over the reins at Carlisle, the pair are seen in the Lune Gorge, around 15 minutes before 34067 Tangmere, now hauling the tour itself. The Bulleid is then seen at Scorton between Lancaster and Preston.
At 6:15 the following morning, the Black Fives are seen working the ECS to Preston at Brock, where 44871 left the train to work light engine to Chester as the consist would have been too long for Liverpool Lime Street. Shortly after, 45407 sets off for Liverpool, from where that day’s leg of the tour would be worked to Swansea.

I hate saying this, but if you enjoyed the video, and would like to give a thumbs up, it would be much appreciated. It helps the channel and planning for future uploads etc :)
    Cheers, David.

Superb as always David 👍Considering the problems West Coast have made for themselves this was the rabbit out of the hat with the fives being available 👍🎥You deserve a medal for the high level shots alone 😊Outstanding lighting at Brock that made me wonder how on earth I didn’t go out for it 😂😂😞

Many thanks Austin, much appreciated. The Upper Clyde Valley offers so much and was largely bathed in sunshine before the train came, but musn't grumble!

Super video. Loved the sunrise exhaust against the cherry blossom particularly. Cannot beat a double-header!

Many thanks - it was touch and go whether the sun would make it in time, and it just about did - a tense start to the day haha!
