    Vintage version is the first time I have ever fell in love with a fragrance. Magic in a bottle, truly legend.

      Yep. And i haven't been able to find any bottles of the original version anywhere for years now! The new formula smells slightly similar to the original but it just doesn't smell as good as the original i think the new formula smells quite soapy and

      @@Red-Rambo Hey if you are still looking for the vintage bottle they are selling them on ebay. Simply type " Dolce gabbana pour home Vintage made in italy " and you will get a few people selling those. I just ordered mine today I will let you know once I get it. Take care.

    The vintage blows the newer versions out of the water! Much stronger with far better longevity for me. All nice scents though.

      What about the scent itself?

    • @TrephineArtist
      @TrephineArtist 4 роки тому +2

      @@sadeqsegaraga8766 The old version smelled so much better. Richer and with different things going on, the gorgeous citrus and spices backed up by the lavender and tobacco. The newer ones (not sure about the latest made in France bottles which are supposed to be better) smell thinner, lighter much more simplified. Not a horrible scent at all but nowhere near made in Italy original.

    Excellent vid. I have never smelt the vintage but I have always been a bit annoyed by the hate heaped on the UK version which I love. I am not surprised by ur assessment at all. D&G never seemed like the sort of designer house that would be content with a substandard reformulation of a classic. I believe in many instances nostalgia has a lot to do with the problems persons have with reformulations and of course the fragrance communities obssessive attention to note and accord detail. In recent times the only reformulation which I have come across which has fundamentally changed a fragrance is CH Men. That reformulation absolutely ruined one of the best designer fragrances ever created. Most other reforms result in rather minor differences detectable only by the most discerning of users. A much appreciated comparative review. Subscribed.

    Great comparison, but I have side with vintage. Worn both and the older form blows it out of the water. UK lasted 3 hrs tops. Vintage 12-14. They really sacrificed a lot of quality after the Italy form.

  • @scottwilbur25
    @scottwilbur25 7 років тому +1

    Well, I must be a romantic nostalgiast because I certainly prefer the vintage formula. Had I never smelled it I would be completely thrilled to own the UK version but being weaned on the original formula I'm afraid I have been spoiled. To me the original is richer and fuller with more dynamic spices and a better balance. However I do own both as to prolong my vintage juice and only wear the original when I want to impress my companion.

    I found a vintage 75 ml on kijiji, got to buddys house, and to my surprise the bottle was still new in box unopened.
    Ended up paying only $45 CAD! Still haven't opened it as a have a small amount of vintage left. You can tell the box is a little sun faded, anyone think it could be spoiled or no?

    The new formulation is worthless concerning longevity and sillage. It is hugely wathered down. It is now more or less a cologne fragrance. Maximum longevity half hour to 1 hour. Fragrance is still beautiful, but is does absolutely not stay long.

    Do you have an opinion about the Intenso version?
    It's slightly darker/heavier/sweeter on the tobacco.

  • @Guinea54
    @Guinea54 7 років тому +4

    I love dg pour homme, but I pretty much see it as the opposite of you. WHen you refer to the UK version as having "more", I simply see it as having less.. The new formulation is a lighter, toned down version of the original just like every other reformulation out there.. They water down the original which was stronger, deeper and even a little more powdery.. Definitely more tobacco for me as well. Also for me the performance was better in the vintage version. . You also have to keep in mind you are using a juice that is how many years old? Its not gonna be exactly the same as it was back in 2008 or whatever it was.. Talking about almost 10 years old and we have no idea how well those vintage bottles were stored all these years. I own both,, I like both but if I could pick id go with the vintage even tho i can tell from the little i have left in my bottle that the top notes have faded over time. Overall they are both good, and i will be using the new formulation since im practically out of the vintage stuff. what do you think of intenso? I actually really liked it.

      I have a sample from Sephora. I sprayed it at 8am, was smelling it on me throughout the whole work day. At 8pm I was still able to smell it. With other fragrances I'm only able to notice the smell on myself for 5-6 hrs tops. This one - 12+ hours with the newest formulation. Great projection as well.

    The UK version has almost no longevity or sillage compared to the original Italy version. The France version is a bit better, richer than the UK version. Has better longevity and sillage, but still low compared to the original Italy version.

      @@johnreynolds6291 trust me if you manage to get your hands on a bottle of the vintage version you will definitely tell the difference. It blows all these new formulations out of the water. The vintage version is way more potent straight out of the bottle it is one of them scents that you can literally smell from across the room and the actual liquid is darker in colour than today's versions. Don't get me wrong these new versions still have somewhat the same smell that it has always had but just nowhere near as strong or as long lasting
