I am looking forward for a vecation in Malta and places to snorkel. I see that "Coral bay" got no corals at all but still beautiful cristal clear water. Thanks for sharing!
Coral lagoon is really a name given by foreigners for its coral colours of other sea grass. It is Dragonara roofless cave actually. Plenty of snorkel opportunities as locally our sea tends to be crystal clear. Check that day where swell and wind direction is not in favour to the area/bay, and you shall enjoy it best.
Was so SORRY TO HEAR THAT THE MELLIEHA BAY HOTEL IS GOING TO BE DEMOLISHED, BUT MAYBE WE CAN HOPE THAT A NEW DEVELOPER MAY REBUILD IT. I HAVE SOME WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF THE HOTEL AND A HOLIDAY I HAD THERE WITH MY HUSBAND. IT IS A GREAT SHAME TO HEAR ABOUT THE END OF AN ERA. SO SAD. BECAUSE I LOVE MALTA. 🌹💞💜
It starts off from the chapel on top of the said cliffs, and at sea it starts off from White Tower side all round the East side of Tal-Madonna cliffs, caves and...finishes off with Slugs bay. Locally Slugs bay we call it Dahlet ix-Xilep. This video depicts in more detail the caves round there. ua-cam.com/video/nA8fImB_ucY/v-deo.html

Same area as above, but spent more time in the surrounding caves here.

While snorkelling in Malta its highly advisable that at all times you make yourself visible with a buoy.
I always have a swimmers buoy attached in open waters. Totally 👍
