AB, Elvis could just walk out on the stage, just stand there, never say a word and the girls would still go screaming crazy. And I would have been right there with them if I could have.
Not only was Elvis extremely good looking, he was funny and could sing and dance. The definition of the total package. There's no one else like the King.
Your right Elvis could have any one he wanted, he was the total package, and could sing ,the best voice I have ever heard, if you really want to hear his vocal range listen to bridge over troubled water 1970 live
It's fun to look back at how the critics blasted him with slanderous lies written about him and saying that he would be just a flash in the pan and nobody would still be listening to him in 5-10 years from then. Man were they ever so cluelessly wrong! When he died there were idiots saying that he would fade with time because dead people don't have careers. Again, they were cluelessly wrong! Here we are 45 years later and people are still 'all shook up' over Elvis.😂😂😂😂
Same thing happened with The Beatles when they first came out. Elvis was panned as just a teenage fad when in reality everyone loved his music and was drawn to his charisma. He was the man and still is all these years later.
I've seen a lot of reactions to this performance. Yours topped them all by far!!! Elvis hated being called Elvis the Pelvis. He thought it was childish for an adult to come up with that nickname. When he performed at a concert in Florida, he was called in by a judge and told that he could do side to side movements but nothing else or he would be arrested. The judge attended the concert. Elvis explained to the audience what was going on and only moved his little finger. Every time he did that the crowd went crazy. By the end of the concert the judge was a fan.
The very first time Ed Sullivan allowed Elvis to be on his show, the cameramen were instructed to only film him from the waist up, because at that time the public and the networks felt that Elvis's moves were vulgar.....but it wasn't long before they accepted the full camera shot of Elvis during his performance, due to the pressure of the public.
My mom loved him. I heard him my whole life. My mom's brother was in the Army with Elvis. My Uncle and him were best buddies. The women always freaked out like that all all his shows.
And what was so different is there wasn't only white girls but Spanish and black girls started to come out -- teenagers... young 20s. Elvis was a YOUTH MOVEMENT first, and he KNEW IT. And what a platform to lead into the civil rights movement just a few years later, in the 1960s. Elvis was a huge supporter of the NAACP and Martin Luther King. When MLK was shot, Elvis cried. During his funeral Elvis cried on the shoulder of his co-actress (they were on set at the time filming a movie and he went into his dressing room and just bawled like a baby.) Elvis decided to dedicate a song to the nation, in honor of MLK and another national figure, Robert Kennedy (who also did a lot for the civil rights movement). Here it is and its maybe his greatest performance. Certainly there is no other social justice song that made it this far and is that well written and performed (NBC and Elvis' manager did not want this song as the race riots were in full swing -- but Elvis sent a powerful message song that still resonates). Sorry for the big buildup but I think you might really enjoy it and/or react to it -- ua-cam.com/video/u-pP_dCenJA/v-deo.html
Ed Sullivan told him he couldn’t move his hips. He just had to give us a sneak preview of the next time he would come back. His dance moves get better and better. So does the screaming.❤
He's looking up at the girls in the balcony. This is a TV show at a time when adults dominated entertainment before Elvis took over. For as loud as it is, those girls only make up a small percentage of that studio audience.
That's why they called Elvis the showman. He can just come out do nothing people go crazy. He could just like pop his head out behind the curtain girls go crazy. And he's funny and he really cared about his fans. He he just had a great time. And if you're ever in Memphis definitely visit Graceland. All his cars you get to go up in his private plane,. Oh stocked with Dr Pepper that's right.
Jane H commenting …. You are so funny. You haven’t got me screaming yet, but you’ve certainly got me laughing. If I had been in that audience, I would have been screaming along with all those girls, & spilling my orange juice all over the hair of the girl in front of me, just because she was closer to Elvis than I was ……. Elvis only had to wiggle his finger & those girls would start screaming. But who could blame them?? Elvis was just 21 here, & he already knows how to make girls swoon all around him. He had the voice. He had the looks. He was 6ft tall. He had charisma in bucket loads. I am so lucky to have been alive when Elvis was alive, though in 1956 I was only 4 years old & it was several more years before I became a big fan of his …… 72 now & I’m still a big fan of his. We are so lucky to have all these films recording his progress through the years.
I love watching these live versions of Elvis back in the early days. This was on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1956. Many times you will see the backup quartet singers called "The Jordanaires" with him. They performed with Elvis in live appearances, on his recordings & in his films in the 50's-70's.
You gotta do Elvis and frank sinatra when Elvis was on his show when he got out of the army he was soooo cool and smooth . Elvis gave the fans what they wanted he was and is the goat!!!
Oh yeah, he knew how to work it for sure. He got such a kick outta making the crowd go wild. Sometimes you can see his back up singers laughing about it. The dude had so much swag and presence.
What a great reaction. I grew up with Elvis and he really just was an amazing singer..dancer..actor. he was such a kind and humble polite man. His moves..well now..no one had or has it like EP. TCB. I have just recently found your channel and I look forward to joining you discovering his music and who he was. Tha k you for the laughs and some great memories of the king.
When he started at that time & era it was called Rock-a-Billy Most of the men all had that James Dean look.. My mama was born in 1942 I was born in 1958 I was taught at an early age how to do the jitterbug, and the slide OOO The simple of days
I think he had everybody, not just women, on a string! I mean look at your own reaction! Sure you are not fainting, but I never did either and I'm a lady, but his music always made me feel good like it does you! Thank you for reacting to this one!
That hip & leg dancing was quite salacious by the standards of the day, to the point where one columnist referred to his performance style as "grunt & groin". In fact, rather famously, Elvis's future appearances on Ed Sullivan had the camera crew under strict instructions to keep their cameras aimed above his waist at all times. On topic, you should see him perform a song called "Fever". What makes this song unique is that he tends to make a game out of seeing just how minimally he can move while still driving the women in the audience mad.
Elvis the Pelvis Presley🤣🤣🤣 AB you too funny for your own self... you really gonna kill me one of these days with laughter also... I HAVE DONE IT!!! One of the reactors I've gotten to check out Poets of the Fall has decided after hearing 3 songs that he likes them SO MUCH that he will go and see them live this year. Now you may ask "why is that such a big deal" well... It's going to be his FIRST live rock concert he's EVER gone to in his LIFE! With this in mind I hope you'll come back to them some time soon so you can also become addicted to their music😅😅😅 Depending on your preference the next song should either be: Poets of the Fall - Angel (Alexander Theatre Sessions / Episode 7) My favorite song from them. It is a BEAUTIFUL acoustic version of one of their songs from their album Ultraviolet(2018) or Poets of the Fall - More my favorite song from their more energetic rock songs filled with guitar riffs and raspier vocals. I had recently turned 12 Yrs old when this aired and I recalled my dad snickering while he was watching Elvis and watching my reaction. His 1956 rise to fame, was the talk of the town all over the United States. Obviously, no one knew then, that he could sing any type of song and make it better than the original.
My mom was dating him back then. I've gotta a pic with them outside Ed Sullivan Theater! My Grandma and GreatGrandma were there too. He was always taking them on drives. Her stories are so cute. But he hated that part of being Elvis, he really wanted to make movies. Regardless, TY for reacting to this. It's been awhile since I've seen it!
Elvis was it! I got to see him in Charleston West Virginia in 1975 and he was fantastic second time he came I was 7 months pregnant and they wouldn’t let me go they the family was afraid I would have the baby he was so motivative.
I know this will probably never get seen, but I just HAD to get to the comments on this one. My grandma, Polly Faircloth, was a sunday school teacher in Memphis, TN. She had stories upon stories about Elvis rolling up to church in his pink Cadillac. My favorite will always be the one day he came rolling into the parking lot, the girls up in the second story classroom all ran to the window just hollering. My grandma shooed them girls away from the window, leaned out and hollered down, "Elvis! Elvis you get your butt in this church right now!" Makes me chuckle just thinking about it. For reference, my grandma was a whopping 5 foot 3 and a half "And you better not forget the half!" Gives me the giggles thinking of that little church lady getting on the king of rock n rolls case about being late to church. XD
You have to look at the time that this came out and what he was doing and that time was unheard of and truly reprehensible for a lot of people back then
Just think, a year ago he only made $19 a week when he comes back on the Ed Sullivan show in January, he Made 22 million dollars and he's only 21 years old at that time great artists of all thank you for your reaction
Love the ending, laugh. How funny. Yeah I've seen his clip so many times but it always still completely amazes me. But we shouldn't Overlook the athleticism either. Big Mama Thorton sang this first. She was a fantastic blues singer. You should take a moment of your time go give her a listen. Elvis had a great sense of humor. He was messing with the audience and they were so crazy. He wad also messing with Ed Sullivan because he was told to stand still and absolutely no "gyrations". They told him the same thing every appearance. He paid them no never mind at all. Lol This was the year I was born. My oldest sister wad eight. She had a crush on him clear through into adulthood. It was the same for the Beatles!
Me,too.🎼🎶🎤💗
LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! He was , is and will always be the best singer, best looking man ever and will be alive forever
Hes like a beautiful wild panther in a steamy jungle 🌹❤️🌹
He had that kind of following until his death. He still has a strong following today.
Elvis was certainly one of a kind. In a great way. His gospel tracks are beautiful 😍
Not only was Elvis extremely good looking, he was funny and could sing and dance. The definition of the total package. There's no one else like the King.
He was simply playin with the audience. Just having fun.
elvis was bigger than anything else. His talent was given to him by God.
Elvis IS The King👑.
Your right Elvis could have any one he wanted, he was the total package, and could sing ,the best voice I have ever heard, if you really want to hear his vocal range listen to bridge over troubled water 1970 live
The coolest, most charismatic, most beautiful, most talented, most generous man ever put on the face of the Earth!
This happened on my first birthday, October 28th, 1956. Needless to say I grew up on Elvis. His influence is eternal.
I was 13 when he passed away...I'm 57 now and love him just as much as I did then...Thank you for doing this reaction! 💚💚💚
I was 14 at the time and I still love him to this day.
I WAS TWENTY AND I CRIED LIKE A BABY❤

Elvis - the ORIGINAL teen idol.
They used to make the cameramen film Elvis from the waist up..he was SCANDALOUS, they thought!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was around to see him on tv he was perfect and he was gorgeous 😍

Elvis is the King!
My father served with Elvis in Germany he didn't drink much until his moma passed that broke his heart he not over losing his mother
Lord have mercy. He's stage charisma are unbelievable. Powerful!
I grew up loving Elvis. On the 25th Anniversary of his death I stayed up all night and recorded every one of his videos.
That's why they called Elvis the showman. He can just come out do nothing people go crazy. He could just like pop his head out behind the curtain girls go crazy. Thank you 🙏🏾
The best to ever do it! Elvis was one bad ass cat! RIP to the👑
Elvis was brilliant in all ways.
To be on sullivans show back then was a big feather in anyone's cap,and there was no lip-syncing, Sullivan demanded everyone had to sing live.
I seen this when he was on the.tv And it was great. He was so beautiful
He was the best
I absolutely love that performance he has a great sense of humor ❤️
Oh yeah, he knew how to work it for sure. He got such a kick outta making the crowd go wild. Sometimes you can see his back up singers laughing about it. The dude had so much swag and presence.

He was a good guy. Je was just born with what it takes.
That's funny- nobody has been impersonated more than Elvis!
Love your reactions. Being a huge Elvis fan I can see why the girls screamed. ❤❤❤❤❤

I absolutely love how you tried to imitate him LOL
My mom loved him ❤️
Love the ending, laugh. How funny. Yeah I've seen his clip so many times but it always still completely amazes me. But we shouldn't Overlook the athleticism either. Because when he's doing a lot of that stuff he's kind of half moonwalking or something and then he seems double jointed with his knees but then he does a lot of stuff where he goes up on his toes and holds it which if you talk to any ballet player that's ever been on point or whatever they call it they will tell you it takes a lot of core strength to freeze frame in that position and then hold it for a bit. You need to watch Elvis singing hound dog on the Milton Berle show
He loved flurt with the girls cause he was a tease
He was, is, and will always be the GOAT!

Saw Elvis in Eugene Oregon, I couldn't hear him sing...the screaming was just so loud !!
Your reactions had me chuckling here...and I'm by myself! Loved your commentary. Keep it up. Thanks
I love elvis forever ♥️
Did ya know Elvis was Michael Jackson’s Father-in-Law at one time? Yep! Lisa Marie was born of the King of Rock and Roll and was married to the King of Pop!
I just came across this reaction action a long time later and I am literally laughing my ass off, that's hilarious.
I love watching your reactions to the older videos from my childhood. Elvis thought the women were ridiculous but thought it was funny to get them screaming
Really good Elvis imitation! lol
My niece was not even born before he passed and she is mad for him. Great singer
