A Day in Capri - Walking down from Monte Solaro

- Join us on a sunny October day as we jump on the ferry to Capri again. We hire a scooter and drive up to Anacapri, take the chair lift up to Monte Solaro and hike back down to Anacapri, stopping off at a very beautiful and quiet viewpoint.
Then back on the scooter,,down to Capri town and lunch at Ristorante Michelangelo with just enough time afterwards to get back to the ferry!

My family and I stayed in Sorrento last July for a couple of weeks. I remember we went over to Capri and I went up that very same chair lift. I fell in love with Italy during those two weeks. I’ve always loved Italian food and it’s the one country I would happily emigrate to. Some of the best scenery I’ve ever come across, the views are simply to die for.

Lunch was amazing! I definitely recommend Ristorante Michelangelo and they also do amazing picnics to take away with maps of where to go and eat!

Lovely video and just love your little doggie. We are off to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast in May for my 50th birthday and definitely want to visit Capri. Hope I can persuade my other half to go on the chair lift!!

Wonderful! PJ and I took the chair lifts up and it was a gorgeous clear day. Would of loved to hike back down to Anacapri but didn't know you could. Loved that Holly came along too, such a good doggie!

The views were beautiful. Not sure I could handle the steps without a handrail anymore. The lunch was mouthwatering!
Yes, the steps get very uneven and the pathway is very broken up in places.

We stayed in Sorrento a couple of weeks ago right at the marina we visted Pompeii Positano and Capri it was a great vacation

So crowded. I went in early May it wasn’t like that.Took a fanicular to AnaCapri fell in love with the island. Sang the song going up about the faniculi fanicular 💗

Amazing views! How long did it take to hike back down?
When my cousin and i got back down from our day scooter trip there in 2015 the cops stopped us cause apparently you are not supposed to drive your scooter across the waterfront down there. We came down Via Marina Grande and we were supposed to come down on Via Don Giobbe Ruocco and we were following a taxi and didn't think anything of it... thank god we didn't create an international incident and he let us go with a headshake and a mean look ! Love Capri and we will be back this June in 2020... but I will remember !

1-2 hours. All these times really depend on how fast you walk and how often you stop to take pictures!
I want to do this when I come to Positano. Roughly how long is the hike all the way back down to Capri? So glad I found your videos. So much great information. Planning a solo trip to Italy May 2020. Can not wait to come see the amazing beauty that is Italy.
the hike is about an hour and a half. You NEED sensible shoes, no sandals please.
Problem solved. You don't have to move. Everybody pitch in and put up the little chair, mountain ride thing. Use a push button with a key. Like everyone has a key to start it to go up and down. Carlo can make anything work.
So beautiful. I love the idea of walking back down. Do you know if dogs are allowed on the funicular and in the blue grotto boat with us? I'm guessing not???

I don't think so, but I have a European license so I don;t know .

I think the scooter was about 50 euros and the chairlift is 12 euro round trip
