Thank you so much for this. It helps so much and I can now hear instruments are more forward on the 700 than the Lintons. I feel like I am closer to the stage in the 700 where the Lintons feel like I'm sitting just a little further back. That's not a bad thing though because I have Lintons and happy to listen to them for hours.
Missions are initially sharper sounding and clearer. Wharfedales softer and more veiled. I'm going through that comparison myself with my own loudspeakers. I have Wharfedale 9.6 and bought some Mission m34i and M64is to compare. The m64's are more detailed and dynamic. However, after a while I got ear fatigue and a headache from listening to the M64's. Plugged in the 9.6's again and the sound was so much softer and gentle I could listen to them all day and not get fatigued. I don't think I could live with the 700's even though technically they sound better.
I had the Lintons and they are a lot bigger than they look. Much prefer the dimensions of the Mission 700's. It woud be great if Wharfedale took a leaf out of Missions books and made a smaller version of the Lintons. I could only compare the Lintons to my existing KEF 350's and to my ears there wasn't a huge amount of difference between them. I'm using an Arcam SA20 amp and my Systemdek IIXE record player with rega 300 arm as input.
Wharfedale for me. There's more body and depth to the overall sound, drums have real impact and sound full, voices pop out. Both are impressive, but Wharfedale takes the cake, imo. Thanks for the demo 🙏
Those Lintons to me sound muffled and not clear I cannot define or seperate the instruments properly, they’re warm sounding but not clear, I’ve heard a demo on UA-cam of the mission 770 and they kill both.
For a direct comparison, these speakers are not set up correctly-- they should be in the same order on each side so they are exactly the same distance apart-- Left-- Mission, Linton-- right-- Mission Linton
If the truth is that you can hear the difference perfectly in the videos both in the video of the leak 230 with the linton and in this one, I like the sound of the 9000a with the linton more than the sound of the leak 230 with the linton at least through youtube ..... but to have made the 100% real comparison between both amplifiers you should have used the internal dac of the leak 230 and the internal dac of the 9000a, in the video of the leak 230 you can clearly see that the input is selected aux 1 of the amplifier and you have used the dac of the Bluesound NODE
Based on this comparison, I would buy the Mission without any doubt. Despite the little thinner low end it reveals so much more of the music than the Lintons. Really pleasing to my ears.
Tengo gran simpatía por la marca Wharferdale pero mi opinión oyendo esta comparación de un Telf q se q es antipedagogico en mi opinión a pesar de las linton estar en ventaja por ser tres Vias las mision se llevaron el premio gracias
Anyone making a decision based on the output from this vid are making a mistake. Hear both speakers in person with content that you love. Both speakers are excellent value and quality build. And both have a signature sound. But it is nothing like what is heard in this vid. Duh
Wharfrdale Linton and Denton are fantastic with voices and acoustic music but suffer more complex kind of music . They sound warm and silky so they can be picky with the different genres of music. They are not allround speakers!!! I own Dentons and Monitor Audio Studios for matching different kinds of sound. The music in this comparison Is Easy to manage.... To conclude....Linton and Dentons can be both paradise and hello depending on what music you play!!! I wouldnt recommend them as unique speakers!!!!
In that demo, Linton has it and so it should with that mid bass driver . I like mission but having sat with both the 770 despite cost is the way to go . However there is nowhere near the price jump from the lintons . If you buy the lintons have modest expectations and you will not be disappointed .
I was interested in comparing these two speakers…now that I have heard the sound comparisons, and really was going to pull the trigger on the Missions out of the nostalgia of the Mission speakers coming back to the scene after years of no mentionable production, I was disappointed in there sound! The missions were much ‘brighter’ than the Warfdale Heritage…the sound of the Warfdale were much more cohesive and less fatiguing than the Missions… It may be the type of music I listen to, that cohesiveness than brightness is more important to me… I currently have the Mirage Omni-directional speakers that are on the ‘bright’ side and less ‘cohesive’, so I’m thinking the Warfdale Heritage will bring the system together, rather than have two sets of ‘bright’ speakers that would be even more fatiguing and harsh on the ears… In closing, if you want bright speakers with less soundstage, go for the mission 700’s, however, the Warfdale is the clear winner on presentation, and soundstage… So, as much as I would have liked to have the Missions, I’ll be purchasing the Warfdale Heritage speakers to bring my system together for a better, broader soundstage… Thoughts?
These comments make me laugh. You’re basically listening to highly compressed sound through headphones that have their own sound signature not to mention what the mic adds to the mix. It’s interesting trying to pick out differences in detail. But how some of the comments can say one is significantly better than the other without listening in person is beyond me. What I can pick out from this is missions sound more detailed and Linton has fuller bass but again who knows.
@@Audiophilesdoteuto be fair the 770s cost 5g and the lintons cost a 1g I’d go with the lintons compared to what the extra 4000 was gonna buy you. And if I had 5000 pound to spend on speakers I’d be looking at something much better than either pair
@@Joey-me1mn Yes. The 770s sound signature is quite different to the Linton's. But this video is about 700 and not 770. And 700 and Linton is the same price point :-)
The 770 and Linton are the same size. At over 3x the cost the performance is alot better from the Mission. I personally think the Lintons sound pretty awful mainly because the tweeter is so unrefined and grainy. The mids and bass are lovely for the money and the depth of image is good even if the width is poor. The 770 however are in ANOTHER league, its properly engineered and it uses much higher quality components and cabinetry. For £1000 of the Wharfedales i would look at Q-Acoustics, Triangle or Focal offerings or even Wharfedale Evo 4.4 if you HAVE to have Chinese made British speakers
Please let me ask you, are you a careful listener then figure out yourself, for me mission is the winner.winner is winner there's no comparison.Thank you
0:51 Mission, 17:39 Wharfedale
4:15 Mission, 21:02 Wharfedale
7:44 Mission, 24:31 Wharfedale
12:51 Mission, 29:38 Wharfedale
16:01 Mission, 32:48 Wharfedale

Mission 700. Initially impressive, but too clinical sounding, couldn't live with them. Wharfdale Linton. A much more even-handed sound. Nice.
Lintons sound fuller, richer, and definitely warmer with a well balanced bass. Thanks for sharing!
Mission 700 - a bone without meat. But thanks for showing us.
Very nice, thank you! But I think a comparison me and many people would like to see is between the 770s and the Lintons :)!
Tried as hard as I could but all I heard was my laptop
Thank you for the comparison
Wharfedale sounds ten times better.

I’ve got both. The missions are good-very true. But, the Lintons know how to party and are just fun.

They're 24x11x14. Not big. Basically a Heresey size

Agree, I have a pair of BMR which are phenomenal but these Lintons are intriguing to my ears.
The Lintons to me sound a bit more 'true' in tonality: symbals sound like symbals, drums like drums, voices more real, etc.
Those Lintons to me sound muffled and not clear I cannot define or seperate the instruments properly, they’re warm sounding but not clear, I’ve heard a demo on UA-cam of the mission 770 and they kill both.
Wharfedale has the perfect touch
Nice test through iphone dynamics and comments about nice sound of it. 😂
For a direct comparison, these speakers are not set up correctly-- they should be in the same order on each side so they are exactly the same distance apart-- Left-- Mission, Linton-- right-- Mission Linton
hello, which one has more synergy with the linton? With which one do they sound better? with the leak 230 or with the audiolab 9000a?
Audiolab 9000A is definitely the better amplifier. I like the LEAK Stereo 230 + Linton combo, but the extra power from the 9000A is helping :)
Wharfedale to dark and mushy . Very colored dull😢
GR Research will have the Wharfe sounding much clearer

Thank you for the comparision. Wharfedale is a clear winner. Great speaker for the money!
English no go...try Orbid Sound
So all English speakers are no good? What a silly thing to say!
Lintons for me - much richer sound.
Again there is no way to really here a speaker through headphones period.
In that demo, Linton has it and so it should with that mid bass driver .
I like mission but having sat with both the 770 despite cost is the way to go . However there is nowhere near the price jump from the lintons . If you buy the lintons have modest expectations and you will not be disappointed .
Wharfedale Linton 85th Heritage sound из бьютифил!
which amp. strimemer do you use here please?
770 +++
Linton ++
700+

What's the difference between MIssion 700 and 770?
Made in UK. Mission 770 is a lot bigger speaker, but carries the same sound signature as the Mission 700. :)

Linton ok.
For me, Wharfedale Linton
The Linton's are in a different league than the 700's, IMO.
This is not a fair comparison! The Lintons are way better sounding. The Mission 770's sound almost compressed.
To be fair. It is the 700, not 770s, so it is a smaller drive unit.
@@Audiophilesdoteuto be fair the 770s cost 5g and the lintons cost a 1g I’d go with the lintons compared to what the extra 4000 was gonna buy you. And if I had 5000 pound to spend on speakers I’d be looking at something much better than either pair

700 это другой уровень звука. В Линтонах много резонансов и грязи
Тупейший камент человека, который никогда не слушал линтоны в живую.
Послушайте линтоны и не пишите бред
Linton sounds like a beach towel has been placed Infront of it. Not as clear!
Please let me ask you, are you a careful listener then figure out yourself, for me mission is the winner.winner is winner there's no comparison.Thank you
Too bad they compromised the LIntons by taking the fronts covers off because this goes directly against Wharfdale's recomendation.
