I also noticed the harpsichord at the beginning instantly. It's the kind of instrument that it's hard to ignore and it instantly puts you in a certain medieval/evil mastermind mindset. I usually find it hard to separate the instruments in these types of soundtracks since they are often so compressed, although this was was actually mastered better imo and with more care/less loudness than usual. You hit the nail on the head with the Diablo chord connection to Mohg. His appearance resembles Satan himself, he uses fire attacks, and a big devil’s trident. He also speaks Latin half way through the fight, which is a very holy/clerical language
Trichords and tritone progressions are common throughout ER's soundtrack though, and most Fromsoft games for that matter. It's also a myth that it was "banned" by the Catholic church or Christians in general, and appears in Christian hymns and chants.
@@vitriolicAmaranth It wasn't so much so that it was strictly banned to be never used in music at all but the intention was to ban putting it in a highlight but it was still okay to use it in progressions and melodies as passing notes
@@janugur2241 No, it was never banned at all in any capacity and figures heavily as a core component in a lot of medieval Christian religious music. The idea of trichords being banned by "the church" is entirely a post-enlightenment legend invented as part of the large body of modern mythology depicting organised religion as an authoritarian anti-intellectual bogeyman that in many cases is viewed as being directly responsible for the "dark ages," even though it was that very church (ie the Catholic church) that championed intellectualism, set up practically-free learning institutions, taught young boys and even girls how to read and write and encouraged them to lead academic rather than mundane lives, hosted practically every great European philosopher, inventor, artist, musician and mathematician for hundreds of years, and generally prevented the unrelated "dark ages" that are actually attributable to feudalism from leading to the utter collapse of European civilization by using the weight of religion to curtail disgusting and inhumane acts perpetrated by tyrannical rulers and nobility. You should always regard claims that Catholic authorities banned something during the middle ages with suspicion and do your research before spreading those claims, and if you do your research on this particular topic, you will discover that it is simply not true; There has never been any evidence of it, there is firm positive evidence to a contrary claim (that Christian musicians endorsed by the church were actually quite enamoured with trichords for the purpose of building tension and evoking grandiosity during the period they were supposedly banned, as evidenced by pieces of music from those periods that survive today), and the claim did not appear until the 19th century, when in fact the term "diabolus in musica" did not appear until the early 18th century, _post-enlightenment,_ and referred only to how it sounded dissonant and was therefore difficult to write into music, not some notion that it was actually a chord that would summon or evoke the devil. The closest thing that ever existed to "bans" on trichords stemmed from medieval theorists suggesting alternative tunings or scales that would exclude the tritone so it wouldn't be accidentally played, souring a piece if the player missed a note- This is the same way that we struggled for centuries to eliminate the "wolf tone," not because we believed that playing it would summon wolves to gore our audience or that the tone was inherently evil, but simply because it sounded bad and might be played accidentally.
@@marcoleung311-v7j I'm so glad that i found the purifying crystal tear earlier and while first time playing didn't know it was a counter against mohg, i still used it to try it out maybe i get the curse from the area here or maybe it does indeed still give me a passive stat boost. Well indeed it didnt and i wandered around just forgetting about that physik and was too lazy to change it back. Entering the boss arena i also had combined the purifying crystal tear with a dex boost tear, so i was chugging that hard and still got the weird icon top left and didnt pay it no mind. "Intellectually evil." That's such a perfect way to describe it, thank you! It's so thematic with the boss and really fits him. This evil, powerful being who was perfectly aware of what he was doing. Evaluating the music of this game just makes me appreciate the lore that much more.
@@pracitus Yes, he's manipulated by Miquella's magic, however said magic is playing to the clear desires of Mogh who wanted to be the top dog. Mogh's very aware of what he is doing and what he wants to accomplish, but he doesn't realise that he's dancing to someone else's tune.
@@acedias12Mohg is completely aware that his schemes ultimately serve to elevate the interests of The Formless Mother, and he's just riding her coattails. Like his minions, he expects an elevated position in the New Order after she replaces the Golden Order with her Fell Order. Kidnapping and mutating Miquella is just a necessary step in his outer god's plan, so he is more than happy to play along. Mohg will mutate, corrupt, murder, conspire with or sleep with anyone to further his ambitions. Mohg is always in control, which means that he always chooses to do the horrible things he does. He's the source of the cursed blood that drives the Bloody fingers mad, but he isn't just a battle crazed murder like Okina or Lucinda. There is always a purpose behind his violence, even as he awards dangerous powers to these increasingly unhinged henchmen, knowing they will spill literal lakes of blood with them. This track really captures Mohg's scheming and insidious nature, without neglecting the threat of the fifteen foot, demonic ogre spraying flaming, eldritch blood and death curses in every direction.
I thought intellectual part was how he embraced his curse with formless mother rather than being like Margit doing what he does even after the way they treated him
The whole theme of the first phase really embodies the evil well schemed plan that is about to get achieved, which i can't stress how much it suits mohg well, the stops in between makes the intrigue and EUREKA moment all the better, while the second is the jubilation mohg feels knowing he's that close to achieve his life Time goal with defeating us, imo my fav track in the series
I don't know, the blood sacrifices might not have been working, Miquella becoming an adult may have just been the work of the Haligtree and Mohg's insane and thinks he's helping when he's actually just making him drown in blood.
@@NamelessKing1597 i will be reaching in this comment, but similar to how Marika is a vassal for the greater will through the elden beast(ring), an outer god so to speak, this feels like mohg wanted/is preparing miquella to be the vassal for his god, since miquella is/was the most promising empyrean as per his sisters words. Idk just a theory.
I love the fact that when he explains the whole "primal" thing regarding the second phase, Mohg is actually interacting with an Outer God, the Formless Mother, to transform, so in a sense, he is technically and literally expressing himself more "primally".
I personally would really like a separate video of you explaining harmonics and why certain chords show certain emotions like happy or disturbing. Anyway, great video, man
What I love about Mohg is that he's not mad, or misguided and doesn't feel like he's doing the right thing, but is intentionally and conciously evil. He's trying to overthrow his father and mother's rule over the lands between out of pure vengence and hate for them, not becouse of greed, or lust for power. I feel like his theme weaves his noble blood and evil together really well, becouse when listening to it, you don't feel like you're confronting some kind of beast, or madman, but a very elegant, organised and inteligent destructive power. I'd love seeing you listen to Regal Ancestor Spirits theme next and as always - great video!
My interpretation is that beneath Mohg's rationality is a very deep anxiety, which turns into denial and madness about his plans with Miquella. When Mohg claims that Miquella's ascension will be the beginning of a new dynasty, to me it felt obvious that his plan was never going to succeed due to how Miquella's body is shown in the arena. Hope I'm wrong and the DLC is about the Formless Mother and Miquella.
Yeah tho Mohg isint necesarily pure evil for the heck of it. Hes path has turned to well.. this thanks people seeing him, his brother and all omens as monstrosoties who need to be either hid or destroyed. Morgott gained the trust of People who hated him by defending leyndell while Mohg went to other route and left hating everyone. Swearing to one day bring his new god and send revenge upon the people who wronged him, wich he whould achieve via his god and dynasty. Considering how everyone hated him that wasent an Omen and im sure a lot of omens didint probably agree with his views either, he didint have many followers at all so he devided to promise power and a place in his dynasty to those who whould help him in his pursuit for revenge. He did end up geting followers like the Sanguine nobles and Varre for example but non the less he didint have many allies. Mohg never received kindness from humanity. Just hate and disgust so in turn hes giving the humanity the same.
@@ds22342 Eh can never predict the dlc content, people used to say it was guaranteed ds3 dlc would be about Londor and the angels but those never got expanded upon. Even if they sometimes cover characters that are mentioned but not shown they have never done any dlc about characters that already appear in the base game explicitly.
To me this battle truly did feel like a wicked dance. The music and Mohg's attacks went together so well, dodging him felt like we were engaging in a disturbing waltz of some sort, such an enjoyable fight. Great analysis!
“Sophisticated malevolence.” Nice job, describing his entirety so accurately. -Real talk though, your mention of _diablo en musica_ made me realize just how Satanic Mohg really is. -Also, I think Mohg’s first phase lacks the impact you’re used to, because Mohg himself uses sophisticated, yet bombastic attacks. Having a theme that goes harder would probably distract from the fight itself, where a misstep can mean death. As phase 2 starts, your blood would be pumping because of the sudden, vampiric curse you just endured, so now the orchestra goes full blast. Can’t drown out the fight with music if they’re both the same volume. That’s what I think, anyway.
On my first fight I was confused why he was counting down in Latin, then he stretched his wings and screamed "NIHILLLL" which was the most "oh shit" moment I had playing this game.
You need to do reactions for these ER OST: -Morgott, The Omen King -Lichdragon Fortissax -Malenia, Blade of Miquella -Starscourge Radahn -God Devouring Serpent
This theme is so perfect for Mohg. His whole "grand scheme" is absolutely terrifying when you think about it, especially when you realise he was basically about to succeed.
it makes me wonder why we could never get a mohg ending in the game. i mean varre pretty much meets you at the very beginning. seems a missed oppurtunity.
@@Karak-_- I doubt Mohg would make public the fact he's about to secretly overthrow the Golden Order. He would most likely kill the oracles where they stand to prevent any information to come out before time.
5:21 i love this part It goes quiet and then gets louder again. It also has that regal undertone to show you who you're dealing with in this battle I love this theme
Mohg has the most heavy devil references out of all the bosses in my opinion. He's heavily associated with sin and the colour red, he holds a giant pitchfork, and has a mass of cursed horns on his head, while also living in a palace under the earth and uses fire abilities
Okay, for those who are interested - diminished ("disturbing") chord sounds this way, cuz it's a symmetrical chord (and also it has tritone in it). That means, that all notes in it have the same distance between them (3 semitones/minor 3rd in this case). What's also interesting about this, is that an octave is made exactly out of four minor 3rds, meaning, that this chord can be "looped" over and over using the same notes (though it makes it a dimished 7th chord), keeping the same interval between them at every instance. This makes our ears unable to distinct the "main note", or the root note of the chord, hence we can't settle down on it, making the chord literally unsettling. This concept also applies to augmented chords, except they're made out of major 3rds, and one octave is made out of three major 3rds. And yes, it too sounds quite disturbing, also, in a way different fashion. As for why the tritone sounds this way - first, frequency relations, and second, an octave is made exactly out of two tritones, so the symmetrical thing applies here aswell. And no, tritone was NOT banned during any time period. Like, not at all. Check Adam Neely's video about it, if you're interested specifically about the "Tritone ban myth". Hope my explanations were not incomprehensible, though if that's the case, I hope I at least got you interested in this topic, hehe
There's this string instrument in the second phase, beginning after the long chorus part at the start, located in the bottom-right of the sound field that I just find so incredibly creepy. Like unwelcome insects crawling on my skin.
You really honed in on the harpsichord this time around. Mohg's theme is phenomenal, but now that you've reviewed it, I've really gotta hammer it home: My suggestion is Lichdragon Fortissax! (there's the absolute biggest organ I've ever heard in a Souls game in it) Other than the Lichdragon, the Lord of Blasphemy is a really good second pick for me.
Intelectual evil, regal, dark, cold, calculated, grandiose and under your skin, just like blood in your veins. These are the words that describe Mohg and his track .
As a percussionist, no offense taken. I was always taught that percussion is the heartbeat of the song, the rhythm keeping the music pushing forward. Understandably, you could attribute percussion to be the more primal aspect of music.
Great analysis and description as always. When I first heard this piece, I found it to be less distorted and more consistent than other boss themes of Elden Ring. He certainly has a dark mind and an obsession with the dynasty, but more than that, his smugness, absolute confidence and composure are well expressed in this piece. I think “Intellectual evil” is a perfect description! Thank you for this amazing video, Davi!
Mohg definitely has one of the best tracks ever. As well as his boss fight itself is hella cool. And the whole chorus just brings it all together. Also, you should really really listen to Starscourge Radahn. That is one of my favorite tracks as well!
This track fits Mohg so well, and I don't have the expertise to explain why. I really like how you can describe the fundamentals of this music and why the composers chose to do certain things, because it gives a little more insight into Mohg as a character. I think the reason phase 1 has so little percussion or heavy beats is because Mohg is calculated. He's smart, and completely and utterly evil, which is a scary combination. He's aware that he's evil, and that doesn't stop him from going forward with his plans of world domination. Mohg doesn't care that you're there to fight him, and he's not afraid of you, hence the lack primal emotion. However, phase 2 has a much more primal feel as you said because of the inclusion of the percussion. I think this is mainly because, yes, he is getting angry at being unable to finish you off. Whenever you die in this bossfight, he says "Miquella is mine, and mine alone," which hints towards a sort of delusion, that you're there to take Miquella away from him. The primal emotions likely return in phase 2 because he's gotten angry, or he's afraid that you'll take Miquella away.
Definitely one of the more iconic bosses in the game. Everybody freaks out the first time he uses his curse attack in his transition to the second phase, doing massive bleed damage. Throughout the first phase he does an ominous countdown in Latin from 3 to 1: Tres. Duo. Unus. Then at the second phase transition - as he repeatedly stabs his trident into the air, piercing his formless goddess who desires wounds, he screams: Nihil. Nihil! NIHIL!
He's one of my favourite boss and well-designed. But it's such a shame to put him as a dungeon boss, with no particular reason in terms of lore. It's just feels like he lost his charisma as a boss
@@rizreighnand6471 the dungeon version of him under the capital is an illusion, and the lore reason is essentially trying to stop you meeting and potentially releasing the frenzied flame from its impronmemt, as behind the chest after you kill him is a illusionary wall that leads to (one of the worst) fall parkour in the game, and at the bottom is the Frenzied Flame proclamation (however you spell it) as it would ruin everything he has planned, and you can't rule over something that has been destroyed
@@fallencolonistVA ah so that's the reason behind it. I didn't know it because I haven't doing the frenzied flame ending. But how about Astel in the dungeon tho? Aside Mohg, it appeared in the dungeon bothers me too
@@fallencolonistVA wrong, the flame is pure chaos and both Mohg and Morgott know this. It's only natural they are guarding it... its literally the most evil thing in the game.
I feel like there's an underlying sadness and desperation to the song. What he's doing may be evil but Mogh genuinely feels its the best thing for the world and he's desperate to see it manifest. The Tarnished is in his home, he's close to the thing he values the most and he could potentially lose everything he's working towards. It also feels like a ballroom dance and considering he calls you his guest you can see how it is almost a dance to the death, even when everything is at stake his courtly noble nature despite corrupted still defines him.

10:30 THAT’S it. That explains why every time that part of Mogh’s Theme, I just instinctually backed away and lost all aggression for a moment. Whether he was in the middle of a crazy combo, or was stalking slowly back and forth, when that part was playing, it just shook me to my core for a moment. I’m pretty good at the Fromsoft games, but I can readily admit that Mogh’s battle for his Great Rune is definitely one of the most challenging, menacing and intimidating boss fights they’ve ever made. It makes sense that his music could only be so powerful as well, and I can tell the composers of this game put a lot of love and hard work into making it fit just right.
Don't think he's all that difficult, level 100 with (I think around) 40 vig with Reduvia felt more than sufficient, definitely one of the better bosses they've made, for sure the biggest W in the list of L bosses of this game
YES. Fortisaxx’s theme is phenomenal. One of the best in the game and super underrated. Its reminiscent of Laurences theme from Bloodborne, but more epic instead of tragic.
I 100% agree. Not only is it a phenomenal track, it just fits fortissax perfectly. This is exactly what I would want to listen to while fighting an undead dragon throwing around lightning xD.
I was sort of mad at Fia cuz she killed home boy D, so I may have murdered her not knowing Lichdragon was the final boss of her quest, so I haven't fought him yet Feel like I missed out I've heard so much praise
Right, the harpsicord! I heard it right away and was like, "there's some... medieval, old instrument in there just in the background". I'm glad you appreciated that XD Also, that marching snare was a nice touch. By primal, he means that banging drums is some of the first music we ever had. It's hard going back further than that.
Radagon's theme (the final battle) is great, the second phase is quite different and really blew me away. The Regal Ancestral Spirit theme is also very unique, I think that boss is my favorite and the music is a big part of that. I'd love to see what you have to say either/both of them.
I am one minute and 47 seconds in and the song already sounds like the evil plan all falling into place and a character realizing they were playing into the villains hands the whole time.
I cant wait for you to hear Regal ancestral spirit ost. That one is so unique and different than all other themes. It makes you feel bad for fighting the boss, as if you have just disturbed peace of something ancient, majestic and benelovent.

I think one of the most interesting tracks for a music theory perspective is the Fire Giant theme. It definitely does the whole “telling a story” part of a boss track right.
I loved these video, Davi, you never dissapoint! But also, souls tracks never dissapoint, so I recommend a lot to you "Lichdragon Fortissax theme", it is one of the best Elden Ring tracks, would be amazing to see a video about it
It's so amazing that you can nail the story by just listening to only the music. This boss, with the music, is one of my personal best boss fights in the game by far

Seriously i'm very impressed with how right you are about Mohg, just by listening his theme. I'd love to see more about elden ring musics. Like Fortissax, Maliketh or Regal.
I find this fascinating on a few levels. Fromsoft can make songs that express the characteristics of their bosses to such a degree that another person can listen to just the song and have a good idea of what this boss is like. I wonder if the switching between more emotional and sophisticated is due to the blood magic. Perhaps it's supposed to represent his bloodlust growing when casting spells and then regaining composure.
I literally JUST got finished watching your other Elden Ring videos, so the timing of this is so perfect. Please keep making these!! As an aspiring composer myself, your analysis is so helpful and entertaining!
I also highly recommend vordt of the boreal Valley from dark souls 3 as it is one of my personal favourite soundtracks ever, especially the memes that came from it
When fighting Starscourge Radahn I didn’t like the OST that much because it was so quiet. A few days ago I listened to it outside of the battle and I have to say it’s one of the best soulsborne OSTs yet. I was shocked how emotional it is you should definitely listen to it. Radahns theme surprised me a lot. But for me the most impressively composed soundtrack in the entire game is the one of Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. The climax is jaw dropping. I couldn’t believe my ears back then at how well it transcribes the terrifying feeling you get while fighting him. It’s literal hell.
Listening to you talk about the time scale(?) with the “1 2 3, 1 2 3” kind of made me think about a theme with Mohg and it’s cool to think about if they wanted to make a connection to Mohg’s blood ritual with the Latin countdown and the timing of the music.
Very interesting the intellectualism and lucidity that you mention now that we know that during our fight with Mohg, he was under Miquella's charm. It might be speculation but maybe this can be attributed to the meticulous control Miquella had over Mohg for his plan.
I love watching you decipher chords and such in music and watching you break it down in an understandable way, and love watching your raw reaction. Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you so much for these videos. They're helping me to appreciate the music so much more. I love how you have something to say and form an interpretation about every little detail - it's like an examination of the lore!
You should listen to “Godfrey, the first elden lord” boss track. It’s epic and more warrior-like then any other track in the game which suits the character.
yes! i feel like godfrey has one of the best epic sounding OST in all of soulsborne, what a true gigachad tho stole all the maidens from us lowly tarnished
@@Ashpect never in my life have I ever thought anything different I love his track and his fight I just hated the way they replied to the original comment
Love this. Really drives home that despite all the conflicting interests and opposed parties in the world of Elden Ring, Mohg isn't just the manifestation of some other faction or ideology. He is THE villain. Even someone as reviled as the dung eater has a philosophy about him. Mohg is driven by lust for power, revenge and his hate, and will do ANYTHING to see the coming of his dynasty.
Fantastic video as always. Your explanation on the music and what it could mean to the lore is always on point and gives us all a bit more insight into theme itself.
How much you can tell of the boss from it's music is impressive, and the connection with the devil in music is so interesting. Couple of suggestions from soulsborne: Sir Alonne from Dark souls 2 Rennala of the full moon from Elden Ring The Twin Princes from Dark Souls 3 Sister Friede from Dark souls 3
miyazaki has been quoted before about his interest in giving his subjects appropriate dignity and sympathizing with his characters is important. I think the softness here reflects that, and the baroque harpsicord is a measure of time and wisdom
Would love to hear your thoughts on Dark Souls 3's "Nameless King" ost. It hinges on a wicked harpsichord solo at one point that always gives me chills.
Your videos gave me a new layer of love for souls games in realizing how the music they make perfectly embodies the boss fights and realizing that these songs have thought behind them and don't just sound good but tells a story
I'm very late to this but, as you said, the percussion could represent the primeval nature of Mohg's second phase, as he grows wings. Wings are related to the crucible, which is a central and very important concept of the ancient and primal state of Elden Ring's world.
Your analysis of these soundtracks have given me a whole different way to appreciate the thought and effort put into them, it’s honestly really interesting. Thank you for making these!

A child not embraced by his village will feel its warmth as it burns down. That's who Mohg is.

Miquella is mine and mine alone!
Intellectual evil is probably the greatest description of Mohg I’ve ever heard honestly, and he picked it up just from the track that goes with him.
"Intellectually evil." That's such a perfect way to describe it, thank you! It's so thematic with the boss and really fits him. This evil, powerful being who was perfectly aware of what he was doing. Evaluating the music of this game just makes me appreciate the lore that much more.
Not aware, he was being controlled by Miquella's magic, his magic is infatuation and manipulation.
@@acedias12 He basically found his dream job even though its not running the company he is content right where he is.
I thought intellectual part was how he embraced his curse with formless mother rather than being like Margit doing what he does even after the way they treated him
If you liked Mohg's theme, you should definitely react to God-Devouring Serpent/Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy.
Thank you for the suggestions!
I wholeheartedly agree.
yes!!
I would have to disagree I don't like that song at all but probably because it is even too disturbing for souls games xD
His theme forever stuck in my mind when I saw he stir the firestorm above him while I being chased by floating burning skulls.
Find out in the next episode of Elden Ring DLC
Mohg’s counting down in Spanish adds so much to this fight imo

@@NamelessKing1597 i will be reaching in this comment, but similar to how Marika is a vassal for the greater will through the elden beast(ring), an outer god so to speak, this feels like mohg wanted/is preparing miquella to be the vassal for his god, since miquella is/was the most promising empyrean as per his sisters words. Idk just a theory.
I love the fact that when he explains the whole "primal" thing regarding the second phase, Mohg is actually interacting with an Outer God, the Formless Mother, to transform, so in a sense, he is technically and literally expressing himself more "primally".

As someone who is considering going into music, I would love to hear you go in depth about the songs and more music theory. Love your videos man
Thank you for the feedback. I'm happy you are considering to go into music!
Hearing the build up to 10:31 then seeing his reaction to the sudden softness was exactly how I reacted upon my first listen.
@@andresabourin2423 Well when you tell Gideon about Mohg's hiding place, he tells you to let him be because that way Mohg's plans will never succeed.
@@andresabourin2423 Miquella is definitely DLC material along with Godwyn.
“Sophisticated malevolence.”
Nice job, describing his entirety so accurately.
Mohg is truly evil and is away of his evil doings
On my first fight I was confused why he was counting down in Latin, then he stretched his wings and screamed "NIHILLLL" which was the most "oh shit" moment I had playing this game.

5:21 i love this part
It goes quiet and then gets louder again. It also has that regal undertone to show you who you're dealing with in this battle
I love this theme
Mohg has the most heavy devil references out of all the bosses in my opinion. He's heavily associated with sin and the colour red, he holds a giant pitchfork, and has a mass of cursed horns on his head, while also living in a palace under the earth and uses fire abilities
The song for a man who beat all allegations.
I adore this track. Shoi Miyazawa stole the show as a newcomer composer in this game.
Absolutely love your take on this track one of my favorites from this game for sure
Thanks man
“Welcome honored guest, to the birthplace of our dynasty!” *bleeds aggressively*
(there's the absolute biggest organ I've ever heard in a Souls game in it)
Other than the Lichdragon, the Lord of Blasphemy is a really good second pick for me.
3:08 & 5:37 are my favorite moments
The evil sounding higher string part, and then the deep "rolling" lower strings that sounds like a downward scale
Intelectual evil, regal, dark, cold, calculated, grandiose and under your skin, just like blood in your veins. These are the words that describe Mohg and his track
.
As a percussionist, no offense taken. I was always taught that percussion is the heartbeat of the song, the rhythm keeping the music pushing forward. Understandably, you could attribute percussion to be the more primal aspect of music.
It's both. We are primates and all of society ha underlying primal rules. To have a success as a primal being is to have a strong capable leader.
That’s often what percussion is used for. It can give a primal feel to music. However, also a ominous one.
Thank you, Aya!
absolutely would love to se a radahn or maliketh video, so different from everything else in their catalogue. Love the videos, keep it up :)
Thanks man. And thanks for the suggestions!
The high pitched choir represents Miquella leading the omminous lower quier that is brainwashed Mohg doing his bidding
Mohg definitely has one of the best tracks ever. As well as his boss fight itself is hella cool. And the whole chorus just brings it all together.
Also, you should really really listen to Starscourge Radahn. That is one of my favorite tracks as well!
Mohg got miqquelested 😪😪
Throughout the first phase he does an ominous countdown in Latin from 3 to 1:
Tres.
Duo.
Unus.
Then at the second phase transition - as he repeatedly stabs his trident into the air, piercing his formless goddess who desires wounds, he screams:
Nihil.
Nihil!
@@rizreighnand6471 I think you didn't get the lore

THAT’S it.

How much you can tell of the boss from it's music is impressive, and the connection with the devil in music is so interesting.
Couple of suggestions from soulsborne:
Sir Alonne from Dark souls 2
Rennala of the full moon from Elden Ring
The Twin Princes from Dark Souls 3
Sister Friede from Dark souls 3
Awesome video! Mohg is sick and his soundtrack is amazing
miyazaki has been quoted before about his interest in giving his subjects appropriate dignity and sympathizing with his characters is important. I think the softness here reflects that, and the baroque harpsicord is a measure of time and wisdom
11:06 damn bro if you dont point this out i would never notice the three two one four(nihil)
The OST for Elden Ring is top tier imo, always love souls games music
Great video man, an ACTUAL musician doing one of these videos!
If you like Mogh's theme i think you'd love lichdragon fortissax's or god devouring serpent's, lichdragon's has an otherworldly organ for the entire track, and both have amazing choir work, think you'd love either. Really like your videos.
That little chunk of baroque music at the start reminds me of the FFVIII battle theme.
I dont think the cords need explaining. The cord indeed sounds disturbing there is nothing to explain, the feeling it gives is just disturbing
Love your reactions man
That was definitely one of the best compositions that I've heard in the game, would reccomend you to listen to Radahn theme as well, it's great
Lichdragon fortissax is another great OST you should definitely react to!
just few days ago i listened to mohgs ost alone (not in the bossfight) and wanted to recommend it to you, because it seemed like something you would love and really enjoy, but i forgot about it
but that doesnt matter cause you made a video about it anyways
an amazing video as always, thank you! literally one of the most entertaining and definitely THE most underrated content creator on this app
