I used to have a 2019 scat pack as seen on my channel. I sold it, but still have my 2014 5.0 auto. I eat brand new r/t challengers in it but scat packs are usually right by my side. 5.0s just don’t have the torque if you have a first gen like me. Given if I throw a few mods on I could pull on a 392 probably. Both are amazing cars and I’m glad I had the chance to have both

ye my challenger v6 after adding a borla stype exhaust, kn dropin airfilter, and a 91 octane stage 1 hemifever tune was able to hit a 13.5 at 104mph on the drag strip....stock it was doing 14.5-15seconds...the 0-60 is 5.0 in cold air and 5.5 in warm air where as stock ti was 6.0 cold air and 6.6 in higher temps. Still love my car tho...has that little baby rumble thanks to the borla.

Don't trip about the speed, the 5.7 HEMI can be modded to hell and back and whoop most cars above its range. But for most of us R/T owners, we just enjoy the looks, sounds, and experience we get driving them.
I’ve seen stock 5.0s run 12.5-12.9s with a decent driver. 5.7 should be only a little faster than his 14.5 time. Glad they are learning, but an 08-12 R/T ain’t gonna hold weight to a newer 5.0.
Wow I always thought those early Challengers were nothing to mess with. My god that was hard to watch. Both beautiful cars though. That mustang driver needs to snag some drag radials or slicks OR learn to launch without going up in smoke. Hell my daily fusion would have handed it to them with child seats in the back lol

I just beat a 2018 srt 392 charger scatpack in my 2014 mustang GT, I just did a tune along with a 302 boss intake manifold, JLT cold air intake and 85mm throttle body. It was no more than 5k, feel happy beating a car that is twice the price and horsepower. But they weight a lot, that’s why I beat like 3 cars length.
I got to say I was and still is a Chevy fan but not of the new Camaros... Mustangs are the real American muscle cars, iconic, legendary, history... They might not always win the races but it will win me over these newer Camaros.. The Corvette Stingray is my top pick next is the Mustang...I guess I'll be banned from family gatherings for even saying I like Fords ( Crown Vics, F-150 Raptors, and Roush/Shelby 🐍)

With a halfway decent driver in average conditions, the Challenger should still pull lower 14s and the Mustang should be pulling low 13s. This was simply a bad driver.

Race one. The Mustang driver had a great launch. Not sure what happened in race 2 and 3 with those terrible launces. Looking at the ET's. 14 sec is slow for a 2018 GT. By the way. Love Mustangs but the RT and it's 5.7 truck Hemi with 375 HP and it's 4200 lbs of weight is heavy and slow. Decals don't make it fast.
Doesn't matter what year since the Challenger and Charger have basically run the same chassis for a decade. I admit I missed the front end, but proves my point they are basically the same for several years. A big, heavy car

It’s a 5 speed the newer 5.7 have that 8 speed and much improved parts. I race 5.0s all the Time and it’s pretty close. I timed at 13.7 BONE STOCK. 245 tires. The newer 5.7s are worth every penny the older ones aren’t as loud or fast

It actually isn't, maybe this particular model Challenger but Dodge offers an entry level V8, where as Ford & Mustang do not. Best to compare the 392 Hemi models.

It will lose....my 2016 v6 6 speed Camaro runs 13.95 @105 STOCK... Raced a 2015 hemi with a 6 speed 4 times and won every race... Dodge has no top end..TO HEAVY..I shifted to 3rd and drove away every race.
Oviously this guys are driving manual not automatic thats why the races are all incongruent! Is well known that an automatic mustang v6 beats a challenger r/t manual or automatic dont matter! I raced an srt8 6.1 in my 3.7 the race was a tight and I had no mods just 93octane

The mustang spins for 3 seconds and still makes a better run in the end. They cost about the same and the mustang puts out 85 more horsepower and 10lbft more torque.

That is an old version of R/T, so it is heavier than the Ford and slower than the Ford. Next time use the new R/T Scat pack and see the result.

I got to say I was and still is a Chevy fan but not of the new Camaros... Mustangs are the real American muscle cars, iconic, legendary, history... They might not always win the races but it will win me over these newer Camaros.. The Corvette Stingray is my top pick next is the Mustang...I guess I'll be banned from family gatherings for even saying I like Fords ( Crown Vics, F-150 Raptors, and Roush/Shelby 🐍)

sheryl_lori ellingson Correct, but a car that runs 12.99 or faster is still a 12 second car. The 2008-2014 Challenger R/T with an excellent driver and ideal conditions can pull a 13.5 or so. The 2015-2016 Mustang GT 6 Speed is capable of a 12.4-12.6 given the same conditions. With a halfway decent driver in average conditions, the Challenger should still pull lower 14s and the Mustang should be pulling low 13s. This was simply a bad driver.
Wonder what track that is. Both seem slower than they should be. DA must have been a factor.

Race one. The Mustang driver had a great launch. Not sure what happened in race 2 and 3 with those terrible launces. Looking at the ET's. 14 sec is slow for a 2018 GT. By the way. Love Mustangs but the RT and it's 5.7 truck Hemi with 375 HP and it's 4200 lbs of weight is heavy and slow. Decals don't make it fast.

@@tonstruck5873 2015-17 GT's are not as fast like the one racing in this video. Upto 435HP vs 460HP as in the 2018+ with the ten speed trans. 2018 GT's will give you a good run.

It’s a 5 speed the newer 5.7 have that 8 speed and much improved parts. I race 5.0s all the Time and it’s pretty close. I timed at 13.7 BONE STOCK. 245 tires. The newer 5.7s are worth every penny the older ones aren’t as loud or fast

IAMPREP looks like he has an older 5.7 R/T.. This was before the Scat Packs and stuff.. Back then it was V6, R/T 5.7, or SRT8 6.1..

The RT is not meant to go up against the 5.0 GT. that's what the SRT is for. And the hellcat and demon are meant for the GT350 AND GT500

Muscle car choices are personal preference. You can always make them go faster so stock 1/4 mile times are meh. I prefer the sound the the Hemi even though the Challenger has a big ass.
