Thankyou so much for this tutorial - I have just purchased my first set of these needles, and now have finished my first hat with them, thanks to your video 😍
Hello Sara! You can't imagine what a blessing your video is to me. I've been looking for a baby hat to knit for my baby granddaughter, to match with the cardigan I knitted for her but all the videos I've found have been either in another language or were confusing to follow! The only difference I'd like to make to your pattern is use 'moss stitch' for the ribbing, as I used for the cardigan. In your description box below, you give various sizes... I take it that by using the appropriate size of needles, one would determine the size of hat. I'm actually going to try and make it today before New Year's Eve - hopefully I'll finish it in time for tomorrow. If you read my message in time, could you please confirm that I've got the instructions on your chart, correct? Many thanks for your awesome tutorial🤗 Happy New Year everyone!!!!
Thankyou for posting this video and taking the time to explain all the steps so clearly, using circular needles. I tried this last year but got confused but you have shown it so clearly and I have managed to make this hat. 👍
Hello Sara lovely hat please advise what size needle with dk yarn light 3 for size 12 to 18 months or 12 to 24 months. Also I still follow this pattern for number of stitches to cast on or I have to increase the stitches too. Please advise. Appreciate your early reply. Thanks you for assisting me and your time. Await your response. Jayshree from Toronto Canada
Hello, so glad I found your video and all the different sizes. I have been asked to make a newborn hat. Is there an easy way to determine how ,many stitches to use for different size hats and different size needles?
For me I start with a swatch using the yarn and needles I plan to use and based on that I calculated my stitches for the different sizes using a standard size head circumference chart that you can find in google.
Very nice tutorial, could you do a knitted dress for a two years old please its so hard to find one with the correct English caption to understand, thank so much
I am stuck a long way from a store - and only have 4.5 mm circular needles, how many stitches should I cast on for a newborn - 3 months Thank you for your help.
Wow looks so easy to knit ..Going to try ..thanks ....what size needles did u use ? and can i use a weight 3 light weight yarn to make this hat ? You rock you made my day ..thanks
Hi there. I'm making baby hats for a local hospital. The pattern they gave was a flat one so there has to be a seam. I really wanted to knit it on the round. I found this tutorial and was eager to try it. Alas, my bamboo needle broke as I tried to work the stitches - there isn't a lot of room once I joined in the round. I think I will look for shorter needles on a shorter length. But thank you - this is exactly what I was hoping to find - I will try again with better needles! If you have a recommendation, please share!
@@knittingforbaby Thanks for your response. I did get 8-inch metal needles and they did the trick. I used the magic loop technique when I was decreasing - a bit tricky but doable. Thanks again!
I've never used circular needles before and the shop near my house only has ones that are 16" long. Will that work? How important is the length of needle?

You’re welcome 😉 can you try magic loop instead? Even if you get shorter needles it might be difficult. Good luck 👍

I for the life of me are unable to do with the magic needle, as easy as you make it out to be. Ty anyway, unless I cN do it on straight needles.

If you are making the hat for a 9 month old, how long should the hat be before you start reducing to close?
