Tchaikovsky played it through for his mentors when he first wrote it, didn he... i wonder if he just played the piano part or did he try some sort of solo arrangement. i would so love to have been present... 🙂 thankyou for sharing this..

....Maybe it's the acoustics, but why so heavy handed? It's like the melody is indistinguishable from the accompaniment sometimes.....
