Thank you for this. It's my favorite concerto, but I've never heard just the piano part. The orchestra was playing in my head with you. I appreciate your dynamic nuance!
Thank you, K Wood! I found a lot of people really like hearing the piano solo versions of concerti, because unless you're a pianist who practices it yourself, it's something most people will never hear! 😄 Be sure to subscribe (if you haven't already), and thank you for your support! 😄
Wonderful interpretation. What I love here is your pacing -- I see and hear so many renditions where it seems like a race to the finish. It takes a confident pianist to bring out the immense tonal beauty of this movement.
Words cannot describe the beauty of this performance. I will refer back to this video a million times as I am currently learning the piece for school. Thank you!
It's cool how your brain adds in missing orchestra parts, right? 🤣 Just played it two more times with an orchestra last weekend :) It's a great piece. Thanks for your support, @peterq9359! 😄
Thank you, Charlie, for this wonderful performance. I can't believe your sound is so good with just one microphone - it must be really top notch. Your playing and tone are so nuanced and colorful - you definitely practice what you preach.
Oh that's great, thanks for watching! Here's a behind-the-scenes first rehearsal video with an orchestra of this piece too, if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/ToWya1HmeOg/v-deo.html
Soy uruguayo. Ayer te conocí y ví algunos videos tuyos de cuando eras chico. Sos una inspiración!!! me voy a suscribir y recomendarte. Grande, Maestro!!!
Literally need to perform this for my class in a month and I desperately needed inspiration and a good performance to listen to to keep going and this definitely helped so much thank you
I have been exploring this with my limited technique, and it's wonderful to hear your version of the piano without the orchestra. If I had it to do over again I'd be a concert pianist. Enjoy the life your discipline and talent and artistry have afforded you and keep up the amazing work!
Thank you for your support, @stephenvandorn722! Good luck with learning the piece, and keep me posted! Hope you can make it to a live concert sometime soon too. Merry Christmas, and thank you for subbing and commenting! 😄
Thanks so much for commenting, and welcome to the channel, @randiAndika_! This was...no words!!!! I have listened to HUNDREDS of renditions of this piece, and this is absolutely fantastic. Honestly one of the best interpretations I have ever heard. Absolutely stunning...I will likely listed to your video several hundred more times. ❤
Thank you for your incredibly kind words, Robibi84! Hope you can make it to a live concert of mine somewhere sometime (latest schedule is at charliealbright.com). Be sure to sub here and on Facebook/Insta, and thanks again for your support! 😄
Beautiful beautiful performance Charlie. You’re such an inspiration! I could hear the orchestra in my head! If I can play this it will be a dream come true for me. After teaching for some 55 years my technique has somewhat diminished….
Thank you, @RyanAllgaier! Actually learned the 3rd a couple years ago...I personally prefer the 2nd though, even though the third is considered "harder." But of course, harder doesn't necessarily mean "better!" 😄

Thank you so much Charlie for sharing this, I love the passion you put into it and the sensitivity and your romantic maturity. Your articulation is phenomenal! When will you perform it with an orchestra any idea? What an incredible experience that would be! Looking forward to it! All the best, Brian

@@CharlieAlbrightPianist You will be bringing a lot of pleasure to all those in attendance Charlie. Do let me know when it can be heard here up in Canada!. All the best with it. Your performance of it is powerful and so heartwarming. Brian
Beutiful execution. I am also asking if you have any helpful player tips for Prelude No. 1 In C Major from Das Wohltemper Klavier Book I by Johann Sabastian Bach. (Only the Prelude and not the Fugue)
Dear Charlie, very nice playing. What are you wearing in your eyes? Is it for hearing protection? If so how long have you used this? Very interested to know.
Hi Christopher! Hearing protection. I usually use active noise-cancelling headphones for both that reason and also because I often watch/listen to videos while I practice on my laptop (on the piano), but for this video, I went just with good old-fashioned earplugs. 😄 Be sure to subscribe (if you haven't already), and thank you for your support! 😄
Do you mean left and right? That’s a great question. The soft pedal makes grand pianos’ keyboards move slightly left and right so that the hammers hit fewer of the strings and it makes the sound softer and have a different tone.
@@CharlieAlbrightPianist I've never played a real piano so I didn't know, thanks for this information! And again, congratulations for the performance ;-)
It can be (especially when you're playing loud stuff like this Rach 2), so I will often wear Bose noise-cancelling headphones for two main reasons: 1) hearing protection, and 2) I watch UA-cam and stuff on my laptop up on the music rack while practicing sometimes :D
@@CharlieAlbrightPianist i did recommend get made some ear plugs custom that can reduce the noise but wont alter the sound. They say noise canceling dont protect hearing.

What accompaniment do you use when practicing? Most accompaniments I find to be too synthetic or too expensive lol
Often practice with no accompaniment, but when I do, I'll just play along with a recording/UA-cam video of the full version (with piano and all).
