    Nice comparison, all the creator who reviews only shows gaming benchmark but thanks to you i can now knows how good it is for 3d artist , can you please make a detail comparison with 4060 and b580 in 3d rendering. It will help lots of 3d artist who are in tight budget to know whether to go for this gpu or go with nvidia because its alternative gpus may be good in gaming but not in creative work flow .

    finally someone made a video on this. I want to get into rendering and modeling and the B580 seems like a good starter card but ive also heard blender crashes if you dont have more than 20gb?

    • @ContradictionDesign
      @ContradictionDesign  Місяць тому +1

      Hey glad to help! Blender runs fine on GPUs with low VRAM. If you mean system RAM, then I could see running out of RAM. But it should run fine on as little as 16 GB of system RAM too. My PC has 64 GB now, and my next one will have 256 GB just in case. So more RAM and VRAM helps a lot, but blender can run low detail scenes with very weak PCs. It's not ideal, but it works.

    • @Calypso694
      @Calypso694 Місяць тому +1

      @@ContradictionDesign thanks for the answer. Will i need for more VRAM for rendering 4k and animating and all or will 16 be ok? building at 1080 or lower and then rendering final 4k i mean.

    • @ContradictionDesign
      @ContradictionDesign  Місяць тому +1

      @Calypso694 16 GB is a good amount for 4k. More is always better. But it is also important to learn to optimize the scene, and decrease detail where it is not needed. So far away objects can be lower resolution textures. But VRAM use depends more on how many textures are in the scene, and how many polygons your models have. If you optimize a bit, 16 GB can do a whole lot of work for you.

      In gaming benchmarks from users do not specify whether ReBAR is turned on in BIOS, that is recommended for Intel ARC.

    Well the B580 has fewer RT cores (and Shading units, Tensor cores etc.) than the A580. Clearly the new cores are working much faster.
    But still I am not expecting B580 to be a render monster, I think it will beat the 3060 12 GB. But I think the 4060 Ti 16 GB is out of reach for the B580. (Fair the 4060 Ti 16 GB is 2x the price).
    I am though very interested in the B770 (16 GB) and the 5060 Ti (16GB) but we will have to wait till spring before knowing more about those. I am worried about Nvidia's pricing though.
    It does not look like we will get any cheap 16 GB cards soon. 🙁
    Also Intel's pro card are not that easy to find. I am not ever sure you can buy the where I live. And I have not heard of anyone having one. 🤷‍♂

    • @ContradictionDesign
      @ContradictionDesign  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah I think the Intel models will be on the slower end this round relatively, but also cheap. Do you think there will be a B770? I started to think they wouldn't make one bigger than the B580. But I hope they do! Would make things much more interesting!
      I am also going to test a 7600 XT this week, so we can see how that does too. It could be an ok value for budget rendering too.

    • @Petch85
      @Petch85 Місяць тому +1

      @@ContradictionDesign Well it is pure speculation. But it looks to me like something went wrong with the B770. My guess is that it is delayed and we will here more about it next summer. 🤷‍♂
      The 7600 XT have become a little more interesting as the price has come down. I was just so disappointed with how slow it was when it came out. But 7600 XT and A770 are the cheapest way to getting 16 GB VRAM right now. And they are quite a bit cheaper than the 4060 Ti. So it will be interesting to see them against each other.
      But Optix just looks very powerful right now. Thus if people can afford it that is what I recommend for rendering. There are not many cards with 16 or more VRAM and if you need more than 16 GB VRAM the price is very very high.
      That said, blender do have good hardware support and people should use what ever hardware they have to make fun stuff in blender there are plenty of tips and tricks that can speed up rendering times and taking a little longer is also an option. You might run into limitations but just try to work around them, don't stop creating just because you cannot afford a 4090.
      Also don't buy a 4090 now, wait for the 5090, if you have 2000-2500$ 🙂

    • @ContradictionDesign
      @ContradictionDesign  Місяць тому

      I would love to see a B770. I hope you are right about it, and we'll see this next summer. That would be very interesting.
      7600 xt will be slow I'm sure, but like someone told me, you can run out of VRAM but you can't run out of speed. So 16 GB at a low price is almost all you need. Although, the ly are still fairly power hungry for what they are.
      Yeah 4060 ti 16 GB is a much better GPU in every way. But it is a bit silly for $450 depending on who you ask. An army of those would work just fine in a farm though.
      Really people can do a ton even with 8 GB cards. It is just nice that we are slowly getting higher VRAM hardware finally. The future looks good I think.
      And yeah 4090 shot up. I have considered selling mine and waiting for a 5090, since it might be a 1 to 1 trade at today's ludicrous 4090 prices. But it would also make a good first addition to my version 2.0 render farm that hopefully happens next year. We'll see. Really I just need an LLC and to start writing off hardware.......

      @@andiii8443 Well a 4060 ti 16 GB at $370 is really a pretty good deal. For the CPU, either of those will work, but newer cores are better in general, so go 13th gen if you're debating between those two
