Another out of the park review. Congratulations on snagging what is perhaps THE quintessential Batman figure, one that was a long time coming. I’m interested to see if purchases of 6-7” Batman figures slow down since for many this is the figure they’ve always wanted

In regards to scale, I think McFarlane can redeem himself with this Batman buck & the Blue beetle/Booster Gold bucks. With reusing & retooling those bodies he can correct the scaling for future classic figures for sure. All he needs to do is create a good teenage body, or at the very least retool the height of that Jonathan Kent buck.

@dhunter…the open grip hands on mine are matching tones with the fists and suit blue…looks like you got a lemon…but you can always paint it the right blue…but man you shouldn’t have too

The darker grey is good but I don’t like shading on figures. I should be getting 5he regular figure soon.

I love your figure reviews/videos. I do have a question with regards to the exclusive kngihtfall batman, as far as his cowl and cape, which other figure color wise & shade (don't have to be batman but from any of mcfarlane 's figures) is it equal or closest to? I am contemplating buying it from the secondary market and would like to know if that's a striking difference. Thank you in advance.

The grey does look much better than the standard release. I think the new mafex night crusader and bane are going to blow McFarlane's out of the water but should considering they're on the high end of figures, i cant wait to get them but would love to see this released on McFarlane toys store.

I like the black on the face. It reminds me of how he looked in the Superfriends cartoon.
Without the black it just looks like something is missing. I hope I can find this figure.

Great review. That new figure is definitely superior and it's pretty irritating, almost like they did it on purpose. The shade of grey they used on the standard release figure still pisses me off. It looks like Alfred accidentally used bleach when he was doing Bruce's laundry. If it had been the same shade as the SDCC figure I would probably never need another Batman figure. If they never do fix it, I can live with the lighter grey, but if someday they do re-release the figure with a darker shade I would probably have to pick it up.
Man, I completely feel your frustration! McFarlane does this ALL THE TIME. So close to perfection and they botch the landing on something so simple. SO FRUSTATING LOL.

i love the light colored batman, but these dark colors just look perfect. it makes him look thinner and more 3 dimensional, exactly like batman

Nice review dhunter, i actually wasn't interested in buying this batman but as soon as a saw it i immediately thought it was perfect for a batman dead end custom to go with the neca preds i still don't own big red. Im gonna buy 2 of these if i find them though, one to have it the way it is and the other for the dead end custom but painting it black and swapping the bat logo. Im also really not satisfied with the look of batman v spawn 2 pack but ill buy the more accurate black and grey hush batman

Sdcc is pretty expensive now. Not crazy, but not cheap.

I still think the blue/grey Hush is MY personal favourite so far but this is a stunning figure!! It’s just the grey on my regular Knightfall figure that upsets me.. the DC direct you compared it to has the “PERFECT” shade of grey IMO and if this McFarlane Knightfall was that shade it would be P E R F E C T !!!!
This SDCC EX is ALOT better than the original though.

Has it been unopened, sealed, if it's a defect (hand color), thats would be very rare after 20 years. :-) and will fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars in an auction.

Just the Batman and related stuff
So strange to have cell shading on the head and trunks only. Imo either they should've just painted the mask part fully black and skipped the trunks, OR cell-shaded the boots, gloves and cape as well!
The cell shading was always used for the blue on Batman in the 90's it was mainly on the cowl and trunks not so much on the gloves or boots. What they should've done was add shading on the wrinkles of the grey suit to make the figure pop more

No, it was sealed in plastic. McFarlane did it.
Easy enough if you have shrink wrap and a heat gun. He may have put the first release in the box for storage and decided to sell the SDCC variant later. Forgot to take the hands out.
No, it was sealed, you can’t fake that easily. Why would anyone want to keep the wrong hands with the regular Knightfall Batman?
