Missed opportunity for a Batman Returns Batman, considering they released a very similar version of this 89 Batman in the Batmobile deluxe pack. Would’ve also liked a BvS regular Batman or at least the regular JL Batsuit Batman instead of the same Tactical suit version too
I haven't seen that film in years. How does the suit differ from 89 Batman?
@@RandomHero_85 the suit is sleeker and smoother, it forgoes the bat skin texture on the first 89 suit, the overall suit has a more angular armor-like design while the 89 suit has a more anatomical or muscle suit type look. The eyebrows on the Returns cowl look a bit more exaggerated and angular, the long bat ears are straighter while the 89’s cowl ears are a bit curved inward, and the Returns suit uses Air Jordans for the boots while the 89 suit uses Nike’s. The gloves on the 89 Batsuit are a bit more padded and armored at the gauntlets while the Returns suit just had simple gloves without armor padding. Probably the biggest difference is the bat symbol on the Returns suit is reverted to the classic Batman yellow oval type emblem without the extra scallop points on the bottom which the 89 suit had.

The pre-order was sold out within 1 hour in Europe. Got mine 2 weeks ago and mannnnnn it felt like it was Christmas when I opened the box. What a Treat! All of the figures are Top-Notch 🤩🤩

I’ve seen another reviewer swap the Keaton neck peg with the rebirth neck peg to lower the head to give it that thicker neck look. Not perfect but looks a little better imo.

Great review! I liked the Batman Forever figure the best. Not a fan of Clooney as Batman, so I would use that one getting crushed by Bane in a stop motion. Also, I agree that Batfleck needs a Batman V Superman suit (My personal favorite). Do it, McFarlane!!

I also did a head swap. if you're gonna rewatch ZSJL, he always looked with the goggles on, unless you had the platinum version or unless it is JOSStice League like on the 6 pack.
So I head swap the 2021 JL Head to 6pack Body, (since it has better paint apps) and use the 6pack head to flashfleck body
Even in the Joss Whedon version I don’t think he ever has the goggles off in this suit. Goggles down is my ideal version.

I think it's a trade-off between action figure playability and movie accuracy (though I suspect that at the price range, this set is going to be bought by collectors for display, rather than kids for play), so the compromise has to be there. I agree they could have done a Hush-style head on the Keaton, but the ab-crunch doesn't worry me.
I was wondering if there's any way to get that Neca head onto the McFarlane body...
The Kilmer and Clooney figures look good, though there's something not quite right about the face on the Clooney.
Batbale is excellent IMHO, but like you, I'd really love the Batman Begins suit. I have the version of this that came with a moulded plastic cape, and I'd love to have the fabric version (which I have on the 6" version by Mafex).
Also hard agree for the standard suit Batfleck, though I *do* like the tactical suit.
I have the original release of the Battinson figure. I like the suit and the home-made feel it has, but this version of the figure looks better than the original (not least getting rid of the side eye), and thank God they've dispensed with the karate hand! The paint job on the face looks better, too - at least in your video. The original paint job looks like he has hamster cheeks. Maybe it's the lighting; I need to check on my figure.

If the Batman & Robin wave sell well, I wouldn't be shocked if we did see the Batnipple suit. Hopefully with Two Face and Riddler. Though I don't know if Jim Carey's face is a cheap thing to obtain.
I love this set, got it on the 19th and...Man what an upgrade! Cloth clothing is my thing, I love it love it love it. The ability to move it, flip it, etc.
Plus, the Bat-Signal is amazing! I know some folks would have liked alternate hands, some bat-gadgets, me too, but the Signal is too iconic!
Also, I'm pretty sure the backpeg is going to be for rubber capes, though that's just guess.

Preferred the Mcfarlane 1989 vs the Neca version. Kinda stopped toys a bit until this came out and made me start getting toys all over again.

Hello dHunter ! Great review ! If the 89 Batman figure had a thicker neck it would blend in much better . Kilmer , Clooney and Affleck all have the 1 piece cowl and the figures look great . Saw a custom with a 89 Batman head swap with the Flash Batman and what a difference. What drives me really "batty" is the emblem not being painted correctly . Mcfarlane did a nice job with the Flash Batman emblem . Looking forward to the Batman Forever / And Robin figures due to come out . BVS BATMAN PLEASE !

I passed on the 3 recent movie releases, glad they're all improved and with fists. The original Pattinson head was too low, it sits at a normal height now. The Neca Keaton head is just too big in proportion with the body, it's like a guy wearing a helmet of Keatons cowl. Also, I wouldnt have noticed the holes from the missing plastic capes on my copies, I'll be using figure stands for those. I think I'll look into adding wires for the capes, and waiting on someone to potentially mod the signal to be brighter.
Even if you brighten it it’ll still be way too big on the ceiling

I think the 89' version looks more like batfleck. I don't know but there's a creepy mistake between the credit bureau and exchange within the McFartlane company community. I think a head swap with the page puncher would work better. It would look like a more grizzled , messed up look. Like 25 or 6 to 4😮

I get more regrets if I do that, I can be patient and wait for a better version, Joes are my essentials, THEY need to be flexible to be proper figures more, so, I m good in any case
The 89s likeness is vague at the very best... from neck down,yeah bodys good. But the cowl,the head. Lazy mcfarlane as usual. Its lime they find designers that have bever seen the 89 batman movie at all. Like there going by what someone told them he loomed like

Here's a weird philosophical question, should we consider the Batsignal in this set to be an extra figure or an accessory? Now I know what you're thinking, "Mad Man you're a dumb ass of course it's an accessory the Batsignal isn't a character" but hear me out a second the Batsignal has it's own points of articulations, action feature, and it's own accessories! Fine I'm still a dumb ass but I think I'm on to something here 😂
