After going through this episode, my biggest wish is: I wish that the new generation not only can learn to skate even better, but also learn to be as polite, as respectful, as sensitive and as down to earth as Evan Smith is. You guys touched upon something that every skateboarder feels, though may not always know how to articulate, and I think as long as people are able to acknowledge that feeling, and roll somewhere with that helping them push, the cold slippery hands of the corporate influence will never be able to get the grip on skateboarding that could ever squeeze the life from it. ...anyway thanks a bunch, you rule!
I was pleasantly surprised how well spoken and quick witted Evan Smith is. A great soul and role model for the next generation of skateboarders.

Everyone is great in an edited interview. That being said he's been very fortunate that he's in an industry where the things he chooses to do/experiment with aren't necessarily held against him. 99.9% of kids that watch him will never be in that situation. Watch any interview of an older pro talking about how they regret that lifestyle. Shit Spanky was just on talking about it. Go rewatch Reynolds NC ep. Go watch Neens channel. Guy Mariani. Geoff Rowley. So many pros say it was fun but they all wished they hadnt done it.

SWWonders jambands and skating have never mixed
It was actually pretty prevalent in brands like Creation, Satori Movement, Ipath and even the Rasta color years of Element. I was never a RR fan but I saw them open for “Furthur” the first reincaration of the Grateful Dead. I had a lot of fun in the crowd when RR played. Def a good vibe. There were tons of skaters in the jam scene then too early and mid 00s.
Yeah rusted root was huge, nine club guys aren’t music buffs
15 minutes in and you can tell his attitude on and off the board can’t be compared he’s such a humble down to earth dude I think that amazing. Even Smith keep up the good work

One thing I can say about Evan Smith is that he is a one of a kind! He doesn’t skate for money, not for sponsors, for nothing but fun! I met him at street league one time and I told him good luck and he said “thanks man but I don’t skate to win! I’m just having fun”. That is something you don’t hear often! We need more skaters that has the vibe, attitude and positivity of Evan Smith!

Evan Smith is my favorite skater, and hearing him speak makes me want to be his best friend. And where I live, the skate scene is one to none. My skate scene is so small you couldn’t see it under a microscope and hearing you guys speak makes me feel good. It’s nice to put your podcasts on while skating

THE-BEST-DUDE. I'm from Florida and I have a vivd memory of him at Paradise Funplex which was a skatepark/mini golf place and Evan trying kick flip front 50's on this bump to hubba in between peoples runs at one of the contests they use to have. He was probably 15 or 16. Back when he use to rock the double tongues in the shoes haha I feel like a lot of us did. Thank you skateboarding for sick ass memories like these. Forever etched in my brain. Life is weird.
