Nothing beats that homemade broth. I like ground sage in my dressing along with the other spices you added. I also add the eggs. Celery, onions and garlic are essential with a little bell pepper if you want. That soupy mixture darn sure makes good dressing. I drescribe my mixture prior to baking, the texture of cooked oatmeal maybe a little wetter.
😊😊
Love sage in my dressing and poultry seasoning. My grandmother use to add slice boiled eggs.
There is really no set recipe for dressing. Once you get that cornbread & some good broth, it's on. Just throw the kitchen sink in, with 2 pots, & a couple of seasonings in there & it's on. I did not learn how to make it until I was an old lady, but my dressing is gold ribbon good. Sage sausage, cornbread, white bread, a little Pepperidge Farms dry stuffing homemade broth, celery, bell pepper & onions cooked in butter, 2 eggs & Lord, you'll want to eat it raw. And yes. make it soupy. My Lord, is right mama.
GARLIC OH NO
I know no sage r pounty seasoning it not dressing... without it but to each its own.
I have to have Sage,Poultry Seasoning and Bell Peppers and I Saulte my Vegetables before mixing it with my Cornbread.
You are the first person on UA-cam that I came across to make this just like my mom...it's identical all the way to the sliced bread.
My grandma used to use a hen for her dressings and your dressing reminds me so much of hers. Thanks for sharing. Peace and Blessings to you all.
Hi Teresa,,Thanks for sharing your dressing recipe,,My mom never put cream of anything in her dressing either so good..
I don't use the cream of chicken soup because they have such high salt content that you really can't taste but it's there.
Good morning Ms. Teresa. This looks amazing! That broth is the TRUTH!! It looks so rich and flavorful. I am going to have to try Complete Seasoning.
Your dressing looks amazing! My Mom used to make huge pans of boiled water cornbread that sat in the pantry for days drying out, before getting chopped fine.
Everything else the same.
Cornbread dressing is a complete meal, I could live on it!
Thank you for sharing, Teresa!
My favorite meal😊
Lol...yep. Dressing. Cranberry
I just stopped at 12:24 and saw you get the bread. I remember sometimes my Granny would toast bread to put in the dressing with the cornbread. GREAT IDEA. This year will be my first time making it and I'm 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 that it turns out ok. Your video is the second one that I am comfortable with because it looks like the dressing I was raised and grew up eating. The first video I watched was from @danirose and she made this video a few years ago and I liked her video as well. Thanks for sharing this video
Please join us Sunday at 6pm EST for our LIVE where we get to know you and talk about it☺️❤️ Turn on the notifications so you won’t miss out. Let the journey continue….
I didn’t know you can add the celery and onions without cooking them down!!!…. I’m 50 years old and had no idea! Wow you learn something new everyday LOL ❤❤❤Thank you
Yes, we all do ☺️
Hi, Lady Teresa. I like the ingredients you used in the dressing. It looked delicious, and the cranberry gel by Ocean Spray is a favorite. Thanks

Thanks for sharing. Your dressing reminds me of my cousin’s growing up. She used a hen also for her “Chicken Dressing”.
I make mine similar. I add sage and Tyme. I love how you are cautious about your salt intake. I will try this year adding a bit of chicken bouillon. Keep bringing us these amazing videos. WE LOVE THEM ALL 😊
I was going to ask her if she used sage and/or poultry seasoning in her Dressing. I'm glad you commented on the sage which is a normal ingredient in homemade especially southern Dressing, imo! Gladly, her Dressing looked delicious🤗
I love sage and poultry seasoning

Hey Teresa, LOVE your camera sweetie! Don’t know what you have but when you moved it in for a close up, it just adjusted so quick and worked wonderfully. You must be a little wizard, the way you edit and fix everything. Love watching you cook. I would have loved me a bite of that dressing! Can’t wait to let you know how my attempt worked out! ❤

It was thank you❤️🥰
Thank you for your mother's recipe. I have made dressing (for myself) and have failed so many times. I think this recipe may finally be a winner. I'm gonna try it this weekend!
You are so welcome!
I do mine just like that but I used poultry and sage seasoning that all Thankyou ❤🙏🙏❤️Happy Holidays
Yummy 😋. I fix my veggies sautéed before adding it to the cornbread mixture but I’m going to try it your way this year. I was nervous to try it because I didn’t want any veggies uncooked with a crunch in the dressing but you answered my question in your video. I like the fact that you didn’t say cream soups is a must to make the dressing taste good. I do like it with cream soups but I have had dressing without it and the dressing taste good, either way in my opinion. Thank you for sharing your delicious looking recipe. Happy Thanksgiving.
Cut. Up. Small. .veg's.
Looks 26:42 delicious I'm going to try it this Thanksgiving thanks for sharing and God Bless 🙏
Thank you. Very easy recipe.
It is! You’re welcome 🥰❤️☺️
That looks delicious
Thank you ☺️
That is good looking dressing and yes got to have cranberry sauce. Thank you cause I don’t know how to make it ❤
It’s easy you got this❤️🥰
Every video for cornbread dressing that I have seen have shared their mothers or grandmothers recipe. So I guess I'll share my mothers. She always saved "stale" or day old cornbread, loaf bread and/or crackers. The rest of her recipe is following yours. One thing I changed was the aromatics were cooked with the cornbread. My children requested that I make sure the veggies were not still crunchy in the dressing. God bless you and your family. Sherry from Alabama.
Thanks for sharing 🥰☺️
I love watching how others make broth for their dressing. I season the backs, spine/carcass and necks of a bird heavily...broil it under the broiler for pronounced flavor then boil the carcass in water with veggies, celery, onion and carrots bay leaf, thyme, etc. Flavor from the bone marrow is epic. It's much better than boiling white meat in water with seasonings because the bones carries the flavor.
Thanks for sharing.
Looks good
Your eating it lets me know ,its the bomb !!! Tku !!Happy Thanksgiving ,
My first video of yours that I’ve watched. It definitely won’t be the last. You have made me hungry by watching this!
Thank you, God has truly blessed us with a community like you all. Let the journey continue as we grow in Him is our prayer☺️🥰❤️❤️
Delicious
Enjoyed yall.😊❤🙏
Ms.Ruby
I like the flavor of the celery and onions, too. Mother's was similar to yours, except she added sage.
My God, My God!!! I could smell it through the video!!! Mmmmmm !
Looks delicious Theresa. I put gizzard n turkey meat in it. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays. I miss Eric hope he is doing ok. God bless you n family
Yes mam I think I found my winner that looks so good I'm gonna make this on Easter oh yeah, happy easter thank you for the recipe god bless❤
You are so welcome
That dressing looks good my mom never cooked her onions and celery either
I found you this morning 🤗 I'm from Mississippi originally. You're adorable! Your chicken and dressing look delicious. Most folks don't know how to make dressing.Cracked me up, we need to brown her a bit more 😆😅 you have beautiful hair, and the style fits you. Only think I would recommend stirring your broth right before you pour it into your mix... spices and heavier broth sinks to the bottom of the bowl. A lot of good spices have settled on the bottom. Swirl that broth to get all of the spice mixture. Thank you for sharing your treasured dressing 😘😇🙏🫶
Thanks for the tip🥰 welcome to the family. ❤️☺️Let the journey continue…
I like my dressing loose also😊🥰
Good night you know you can cook keep up the good work and tell God thank you
Wow, you bring back memories. My mom had me going all over town looking for her turkey tails you know The broth is, where is it.❤🥰👌🏿👍🏿🫶🏿✌🏿🥰
Good job!
Thanks!
OMG! That looks wonderful and sounds just like my mom’s used to be also. Sometimes she used a few biscuits instead of light bread but sometimes not. She used some poultry seasoning in her broth. After watching your video I think I will try it. Using thighs is a good idea especially since I won’t have many here. Thanks so much for posting, I am a new subscriber now so wishing you a happy and blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Looking forward to many of your recipes. Thanks for posting that recipe under the “more” link too! ❤
Please consider becoming apart of our family. We would love to get to know you better❤️happy baking. Let the journey continue…
Looks delicious and just like my Mom did hers. Thanks!
