You can be so proud Molly. And no, Gallop didn't steal the show...although he looked so cute while chilling on the floor. Btw. I love your channel Molly, watching your videos makes me happy. Keep on doing the things you do, you are an amazing young and confident woman. Lots of love
You are SO awesome Molly. You show the power of being who you are and following your passions, strengths and dreams. You are unique in this world and a voice we need to hear!! Thank you! Your mom is also SO special. I would love to hear from her more too. :)
Dating? Really Megyn, that’s the best question you could come up with? How about you ask Molly about how she’s working with Samsung to develop and test their accessibility features? You get 10 minutes to talk to a such an inspirational and strong woman and you want to know if she’s dating anyone? How disappointing.
Emily Pickhardt while I agree they could have asked better questions I also can understand the dating. There are so many ppl out there with a disability that don’t feel like they can find a loved one. That question and her answer could make a person watching say yeah, I can put myself out there and date.
Good point about dating and it's true. It is hard enough to meet someone when you have everything going for you. Add disabilities or other issues into the equation and it is easy to feel like you can not find a loved one (worth keeping).
I’m blind as well. But not as a child. It happened at 55. I’m 62 now. It is a new world. I’m learning to do makeup looks again, thought I couldn’t do it. I’m mourning not driving and being independent where I could go wherever I want to. My blindness is not like Molly’s from RP. CONGRATS TO MOLLY for being an inspiration
The same way people who can see can type without looking at the keyboard, memorizing the keys and maintaining the proper hand placements. Also, most computers and phones come with voice navigation tools. Molly has an entire video on how she and other people who are blind navigate technology.
Vanilla Gurl I have help...plus I enlarge the font REALLY HUGE, but it’s not huge coming to you. I learned to type mostly by memory as well. I have a typewriter for the blind also. Great auto correct and speech to type.
Amanda B. Thank you for asking. No I don’t. I became blind at 25 in my left eye by failed detached retina x 2. Then at age 55, I had a viral stroke of the right retina followed by this year PION (posterior ischemic optic neuralgia). That’s basically when the optic nerve doesn’t get enough blood flow and things go completely black. This could also happen to my left eye in time but I only see shapes with my left eye now. I hope that answers your question. 😊
A guess: They were probably so ill-equipped to handle this uncomfortable situation, that they decided being mean was better than being helpless. I’m guessing they were so out of their depth and overwhelmed by her disability and resulting depression, that they just defaulted to behaviors that would definitively end any chance they would ever have to see her again. It’s not an excuse for such disgusting and inhuman behavior, but it’s all I can think of to even begin explaining why that happened. It’s the motive I would write if I wanted to put a bully in a story anyway.
14 year old girls are horrible. When they are faced with something that they don’t understand or that is different from what they are used to, instead of educating themselves, they tend to ostracize it. Not all girls but a lot of them do. It’s horrible but it’s true.
Also, mention some of the other cool things she's done before and during her UA-cam career. She spoke to audiences of thousands, at WE day and at the UN, won an all-Canadian beauty pageant a few years after going blind, published an EP, spoke to head developers and CEOs about accessible technology and, overall helped hundreds of thousands of high school students and others through her public speaking career. There's so much to Molly, her huge success on UA-cam is just one part of it.
JuMixBoox I know she’s absolutely incredible. Definitely a positive role model unlike some others. She’s smart, driven, hardworking and has such a great outlook on life. Very inspiring!
I hate that the thing you really mentioned about her videos is hair, makeup, and etc. Actually she does a lot more than just hair, makeup, and etc. She talks about her blindness, does collaborations with huge brands like Samsung, posts about her guide dog.
@@katiehefner7162 yea Molly is obsessed with fashion and makeup and loves that attention so although it might seem like they went superficial I think they did a good job of asking a variety of questions and also focusing on the things Molly loves. Would have been good to ask her what's in store for her future though.
try living like her without parents, or a brother, and without the money that comes from the success. Thats more like the reality for a lot of blind people
You're exactly right, she does have light and shadow perception. Her guide dog is part Bernese Mountain Dog, which is why he's so much larger than a typical Lab.
yup, one of the greatest gifts you can give molly is anything that has great sensory touching (like slime, those glittery pillows, etc) and reflects light or is really bright c: it’s exciting for her last bit of sight left
His name is gallop and she has a whole guide dog q & a on her channel. She's done collaborations with other UA-camrs who show what she's able to see in their homes & she talks about it on her channel sometimes.
I LOVE that she goes against every single sterotype out there about blind people. Her channel really opened my eyes to the world of people who are blind.
I feel like I love Molly on a deep and personal level. I'm blind myself and she's inspiring to me to be able to go talk to other people about me I've always been that way but just her shows that I'm not the only one. Feeling alone when you're young like me 13 you feel lost you feel alone and if any blind people are reading this just know you're not alone you're not lost your perfectly where you're supposed to be. And know you are loved Beyond measures that's something I need to hear and so let me tell you
I hope to God those girls who left her in the forest see this and realize how awful they are - how terrible - and what kind of parents raise monsters like that. She could have died in the forest. Terrible people on this planet that exist. I hope that Karma lives with them forever.
MOLLY! I'm so incredibly proud to see you sharing your story. Been a subscriber for about a year now and I cant believe how far your channel has already come
Wooow how could you leave let alone a blind person but anyone alone in the woods if I was with people and turned around for a sec and they were gone or running away I would feel paranoid and scared in the woods wooow what horrible people hopefully they grew up and know better now and regret it I’m 15 and so I’m around the same age as they were and ik a lottt of people my age and younger and none of them would do that it just like shocks me

Molly, I am so glad to have found this video. I cannot wait to see your UA-cam videos and tutorials. I have a similar story and things you have said really struck a chord with me. Thank you!

I am so thankful that my co-worker saw you on the Today show and let me know about you! Many blessings.

I think Molly is the most positive influential UA-camr of them all!
Cooking Lessons for Dad couldn’t have said it better !

Molly’s channel is actually super educational and entertaining. I thought I’d just watch one video but now I’m addicted

Anyone that watches Molly knows the most accurate thing about this interview is Gallop literally just sleeping the whole time lol #typicalgallop

Um, Molly is the one that brought up dating.
It was a wide ranging interview, and the dating question was a light-hearted way to end. And, yes, Molly mentioned dating before Megyn did.

Why would anyone bully anyone?

She said they did that because they though she was faking being blind for attention

I'm glad Molly is so comfortable talking about these topics, otherwise these questions could have been really intrusive.
SO PROUD TO SEE YOU GETTING SOME NATIONAL ATTENTION MOLLY!! YAY!!! You deserve to share your story and you are a wonderful influencer and person!
SO glad to see Molly on Megyn Kelly. Learned about her through Shane's channel. She's such an amazing, beautiful person
I hate that the thing you really mentioned about her videos is hair, makeup, and etc. Actually she does a lot more than just hair, makeup, and etc. She talks about her blindness, does collaborations with huge brands like Samsung, posts about her guide dog.
Molly loved that tho. She also wants to be seen for her traveling and fashion and makeup interests instead of SOLELY just being “the blind girl”.

I think she can still see light and shadow, judging from her eye direction. I like her guide dog, he's huge.
You're exactly right, she does have light and shadow perception. Her guide dog is part Bernese Mountain Dog, which is why he's so much larger than a typical Lab.
