This song to me fits the series perfect. Especially when you watch the video with it and you know how the series goes to that point. It's more emotional than you'd think.
How are people not noticing the subtle creepy vibes throughout the song? Everyone's complaining how "it doesn't fit with the anime", meanwhile it's literally the perfect fit. Happy and cute on the surface, but with a very creepy background tones and atmosphere, exactly like the show. Cute animations and characters, doing cute stuff on their cute adventure, right?
The lyrics are defintely not as happy as the song sounds lol, but aside from that I think the contrast between the happy and upbeat sounding opening and the darker tone of the anime itself brings out the horror and tragedy in a very unique way. The dissonance is deliberate.
I disagree. Neither the song nor the show are creepy. But I feel the song does still represent the series well. Despite all the horrible things, the outlook of Riko remains positive through the whole story. Also I can’t be the only one who feels some sort of desperation and childlike hope in the chorus akin to how the last few episodes of S2 feel.
Imo the music feels like a mix of adventurous and emotional, which kinda captures the vibe of the season, especially Irumyuui and Vueko's story. The chorus does feel like a cry of hope in the darkness, which is what this series seems to be all about.

a good song but tbh seeing the first part of an episode and then suddenly this super upbeat OP starts was quite jarring each time. TBH they should have used something more appropriate for the tone of the series.
In my opinion, it fits. Besides the very obvious emotional lyrics that gave me genuine shivers the first time I read them, this op is peaceful if not a bit melancholic, in a "lets pay respect to the people we lost on the way, and hope we can meet again" kind of way. The anime is tragic and very upsetting sometimes, but there's also the gentler moments, and the moments where themes of connection and sacrifice, adventure and journey, are very vocal and clear, and I think it especially was in this season. I believe this is what this song is trying to portray with it's melody. I mean, the first OP was much more upbeat and cutesy, though to be fair it was the first season where "tragedy" was more of a surprise than an expectation. This is just what I think.
It's got that energy from the percussions but the general tones indicate more of a discovery and emotional pinnings of their Last Dive. The first OP was more refined and regular-sounding in comparison. Also do consider that this OP does not play in every episode of this season, notably the episodes with the huge reveals and the tragedy of the village.
That’s the point, just like the artstyle and the seemingly happy and innocent first few episodes. It’s meant to seem harmless until you look deeper, just like the Abyss itself.

I love the sense of adventure the chorus provides.
I can't help but cry at the end of Vueko hugging Irumyuui 😭
Especially after the ending of season 2😭😭😭

It's Made in Abyss, no point in mentioning everything that's creepy or disturbing. We'd be here all week otherwise.

Every time I listen to this song, it reminds me of the story behind it, and it brings me to tears.
This song fills my heart with adventure! Just love this song and the series so much!
Why is this song not on viral? It literally is the best song till now! (executed eva op)
Good one
Have you not heard old stories yet
I really don’t get why people are complaining about this op, tbh I even prefer this one to the s1 one-
Ppl are complaining? What is wrong with them this song is perfect
The song vs the lyrics vibes, no wonder it gives me joy with chills when I was watching s2 even tho I recognize only some of the words.
3:20 Photon of Fluctuation Leitmotif ☕🗿
we need more made in abyss fan
yr video made version is nicer than the other on yt. liked.
Finally the full version thanks
"A light that no one can know. Waiting for me, calling me. Until we meet again" This verse resonates Vueko perfectly 🥲
900th like achieved
Every translation of this song is soo different
Rule of thumb for this series: The cuter and more sympathetic the character, the more likely they will go through something awful :')
Yk a song fits a show when it sounds good but is actually sad and terrifying

3:06 romanization of this verse is wrong.
Yes, the correct word is かたどる(象る)means to "To make a shape of", "to model on". So it should be Katadotteku, not Amatteku.
the singer sang katadotteku, how come he wrote wrong in this part. I missed.
2:35-2:54 Makes me feel things I cannot explain.
Same, it feels like a tickle in the heart.
vueko 😭😭😭😭
why does every song like this that sound so upbeat and cheerful have the most depressing lyrics?
Starting is very unique and weird.
Ich denke ,Faputa hatte ihre Gründe , aber vielen dank

They lyrics are far from upbeat if anything they are expressing melancholy, it's music just seems happy lol
season 1's op and ed were both pretty upbeat sounding too, until you actually read the lyrics and understand the meaning xD
