      So I think you're referring to the digital dash on other Vespa models. I have a basic understanding of that, but I want to play around with it a little bit before I put myself on the internet and say "this is how it operates" but yes, I do plan to get that video up in the near future. I have been in the considering stage of scooter buying for a few months. As of yet I have not found online a model that fits my need.
    I need a small dog basket & a large grocery basket or an attachable trailer. Also, I want a cover (included)
    Does Vespa have anything that would meet my need?
    How much would it cost and how much does it weight.
    Id want to carry it on the back of my 2020 Winnebago View RV.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому

      There are lots of ways to carry cargo, and many people carry pets on their Vespas, I think you'd have to keep an eye on the weight if you planned to put it on the back of a Winnebago View. Another option might be to consider an e-bike. They have pet carriers and cargo carriers that would seem to fit what you're describing, and they'll be light enough to carry on the back of your Winnebago View. I have several videos of Pedego E-bikes on this channel, to go along with Vespa and Piaggio scooters, so you could decide if that's a decent option for you.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому +1

      This model comes in Grigio (which is the scooter in the video) and Verde which is a very light green. The camera doesn't always show the colours perfectly, so it may look different in this video than it does in real life.

      I definitely think you can do it! There's a group of about 10 women that are our local "scooter gang" who are all around your age and they all ride these and love them! And yes you can get either colour.

    I want to ask about the possibility of de-restricting the engine to give you a little more power and speed, now i have seen the available kits, on various sites to do this,but nobody talks about the possibility that the engine might just suffer some damage from updating this 50 cc bike,what are your thoughts,is it actually quite safe to do and am i worrying to much because this is the bike for me many thanks from the UK,

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому +1

      I can tell you that a lot of people around the world do modify these. I'm not the best person to ask about what to do. I don't like to modify engines as I'm not an expert, and I wouldn't want to do anything that would hurt reliability. That's always my biggest fear. I've seen too many people add performance to vehicles while hurting reliability. So again, I'm just not the right person to ask. For me, if I wanted more performance, I would just buy the 150cc model.

      Usually in the UK nowadays due to the EU influence the scooter will probably be restricted to 28mph or 45kph. I have a Peugeot 50 which when derestricted will reach about 35mph by derestricting it means that the CDI unit was replaced and also the speed sensor modified, other than that on an injection engine it is essentially the same. As far as upgrading capacity is concerned usually you would have to make modifications to air intake, fuel injection pulse width and sometimes exhaust diameter depending on the model. As far as 50cc goes in the UK they are fine in most situations but not to pleasant on very busy roads due to the lower speed!

    I looked at 10 different bloggers, but I still don’t understand what this scooter sounds like. Someone didn’t even start the engine, but those who did started it, for some reason, put on music.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  5 місяців тому +2

      It's exceptionally quiet, and accurately reproducing the sound through my microphones is difficult to do. Long story short, you're not buying this scooter for the great sound it makes, you're buying it because it can sneak through town pretty quietly.

    • @ufooooooooooooooooo
      @ufooooooooooooooooo 3 місяці тому +1

      Shouldn't sound much different from any other 4 stroke single cylinder motorcycle/scooter. Honda, Yamaha, Piaggio etc. All the small displacement models 49-250cc are quiet little putting around engines. Even a Honda generator would sound similar. The only difference would be 2 stroke scooters with their popcorn cooking sound. But all those sound the same too, and no big brand makes them anymore. Like this guy said, unless you're deeper into bikes and put an aftermarket exhaust on it all of these models will sound similar with only slight differences. That being said, I've always liked Vespa's stock exhaust sounds 🤣

    50cc's are niche here in the UK. I am surprised they sell at all in the US. Not that you having them over there is bad. 🙂

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому +3

      Licensing here is pretty simple for these smaller bikes. They allow 14 year olds to ride, instead of having to wait for being 16. You also have the ability to ride these with just a car license, so they make a lot of sense for urban environments. The dealer that I film at has Pedego e-bikes which are limited to 32 km/h here, and then these are a nice step up from those. Plus, Vespa's are just SO cool.

    • @clangerbasher
      @clangerbasher Рік тому

      @@PeterLoweOne I just think US and I think distance and I think sensible policy towards capacity. I don't think it is bad. I am just surprised. Here in the UK you have to be 16 to ride a 50cc. But our roads are more twisty and traffic dense. 🙂

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому +1

      @@clangerbasher Yeah, I actually film in Canada, and even across Canada there are variations in licensing depending on the province. I film in Fredericton New Brunswick, and these are great for our roads!

      Let's be honest, Vespa isn't trying to compete on price. You buy a Vespa because you love what they are. It's like buying jewelry. You could just buy a stainless steel ring, but we buy gold. They both accomplish the same thing, but we buy the more expensive version for a reason. If a Vespa isn't for you, that's fine, but there's nothing like a Vespa, and because of that, there is a price premium. It's still one of the cheapest ways to own an iconic vehicle.
