- Here's a mini-series I am doing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of my favorite childhood PC games: "Richard Scarry's Busytown!" Here I will be comparing the original 1993 MS-DOS version (which I had as a kid back in the 90s) with its' enhanced 1999 remake.
Here I cover what is most likely the game's signature activity: Building the House! (As it's also featured on the box art for the 1994 SEGA port and the 1999 remake.) For the most part things are the same, even Huckle Cat accidentally banging his thumb when hammering shingles on the roof, but there are quite a few improvements in terms of animation and voice-acting.
I also include the "Story Time" activity within this one, featuring a selection of nursery rhymes adapted from "Richard Scarry's Best Mother Goose Ever."

This just brought back the weirdest repressed memory, I definitely used to play this, I remember how satisfying it was to do the chimney and shingles!

If it was a dryer it would be worse as Sonic the Hedgehog once said, it gets pretty hot inside a dryer and the fans can break your bones when they’re going.
